Had my oath ceremony yesterday, it was a different experience. 702 people naturalized. Got in at 8 ish and left at noon ish. Besides taking the oath, they had two couple dancing all sort of american dances and an association who presented the history of american flag. Dancing was cheezy and the presentation was boring as three unorganized people were struggling to make their presentation interestion. Any kids from any school or preschool could have done way better.

Amazing people and happy smiles in everyones face.

Finally it is over and next step will be applying for a passport book and card.

How long does it take to receive the oath letter after the interview. Its been more than two weeks since my interview was done, but there hasn't been any update on my case status. In San Jose they have an oath ceremony once a month and for July it is on the 28th. If its not that date I will have to wait until Aug 24.

It took three weeksfrom the interview date to receive my oL. Snd my case was online for oath scheduling foralmost two weeks.= have seen while doing some research when I started worrying about my case that sometimes, it takes up to two months even if the online status says 45 days. I think that it will not take that long . Crossing my fingers for all of you.

Oath appointment letter received yesterday. Will attend the ceremony on Wednesday 20th july. Eight days from now. So excited. Ceremony will be held at the san diego court at 8 am.

Came home today to find the letter for oath ceremony in my mail box! indeed on thursday 07/07/2011!!!

Can I apply for the US passport after the oath? on site? how does that work???

You can Apply for the us passport as soon as you get the certification. One of my friends got his citizenship oath ceremony in san diego downtown, as he was walking out of the building , he walked into a little officewhere you can apply for the passport right awa, I think he payed a $160 for the passport and passport card or ID .I think that he pucked them up within less than 24 hours. It is cheaper through the postal office but if you want it done quickly. You will pay a little extra. Just make sure to apply for the passport card along with the passport, otherwise you will have to pay an extra $60 in the futur if you want to apply just for the card.

Did you receive an email that states that you your oath date was scheduled before you got the oath letter or not?

reading questions are not in the book. thats correct. but the 6 questions that you have to answer are 100% from the book. they cant change it

The six questions he asked are from the book, without rephrasing them or anything, the sentence you have to read might not be, and of course you will have to write down a sentence

You write it down or speak your answers? Multiple choice or the answer have to be exactly like the one we see when we study (on the book)?

the question that i had to read was What country is in the south of US?

I Thibnk the question does not exist in the study guide in this exact form. from other people experiences,

he asked you to read/answer what question?

What county is in the south of US?

are the civic questions multiple choice or you have to answer it ? you write in a piece a paper or you just tell the officer the answer?

he asked me to read the question, once i did, he asked me to answer it, and then he asked me to write it down in the same paper.

No it was in San Diego downtown. As he walked out of his office he saw me alone, my n400 is marriage based. he asked me where is my wife, I just said that she has a health check at the same time i was interviewing, and that was it. I saw a couple who were there before waiting for their turn, the husband stayed out. iIt is not required and even if you have your Husband/wife with you , they wont let him/her in. it is one on one interview.

he looked at my brief case and said:'' it looks like you re all ready. yeah I had two to three copies of every piece of paper a sent from the beginning of my immigration process.

well, i had my interview this afternoon. I thought it was gonna be hard and stressed out for the last two weeks. Any way..... went there today. didnt have to wait was called in in less than 2 minutes after i walked into the building. the guy was extremely nice and smiles as he was talking< which helped me get comfortable,After swearing, first he asked me to read a question which was what country in the south of United States. and wrote the answer in a paper. than 5 other questions:1name one branch of the government 2- we vote the senators for how many years? 3 if the president and vice president can no longer rule who will rule the country? 4 how many justices are on the supreme court? 5 What did the Declaration of Independence do? I think that was it, that is all i can remember now, after that we went through a small review of the n400 form and that is it. he congratulated me and said that i will receive an oath ceremony letter in a week to 10 days and that most likely i will have my oath in the 20 th july.

When did your status changed to 'Testing and Interview'? On the 10th or the 11th - My status is 'Testing and Interview' but it says that I am in the line so I'm not sure if I need to wait for the status to update again before they will send out the letter. Oh well - I guess I have to wait.

basically i got two e-mails from the USCIS

the first e-mail was on the 10th

"On May 10, 2011, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling"

and the second was yesterday the 11th

"Your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION is now scheduled for interview..... If you do not receive this notice within 14 days please call customer service ...."

I've never heard of receiving two text messages from USCIS because what i thought was that once the file is sent to the local office that is where they will schedule the interview and send the notice.

what it looks like is that the file stays at USCIS Arizona until the interview is scheduled and then they forward it to the local office, because there is no way in hell that the file was forwarded to the local office where they were supposed to and scheduled the interview in less than 24 hrs. unbelievable but it happened.

or maybe i am mistaken.

did walk in biometrics today without any problems. the officer was nice and let me in, I went there this afternoon, waited for a while to make sure that there was not too many people inside and just walked in when there were just a couple people inside, and it worked

No update from anyone on bio-metrics. April looks very slow

i checked my status online. it showed that they sent the FP letter on the 19th, but I am still waiting for the letter. It looks like it is slow but it is moving.

So far onw person got the Biometrics letter and sweet10 and I got some news that The FP was sent.

I was wondering if anybody has an answer for me,

I sent the N400 form to Phoenix, AZ. It was supposed to be delivered to the AZ85036, But the USPS delivery confirmation is showing, "Delivered, April 08, 2011, 10:27 am, PHOENIX, AZ 85006".006 instead of 036. does this sounds normal or do you guys think that it was delivered to a wrong adress
