  1. cant transfer the sia badge, you have to go to the state police and apply for a guard card (well in the state of CT anyways) look for your states public safety web site, i done an 8 hour course and had finger prints, criminal record check the works, all done on the same day cost aprox $300

Thanks for the information I will have a look on the state site.

  2. I Have x6 SiA [Home Office / Security Industry Authority] Licenses In Close Protection / Physical Intervention etc. Does Anyone Know the Simpliest / Cheapest Way Of Getting The Equivalent Licenses Or Transferring them Over To The U.S From The U.K? I Live In & around The Chicago-Land Area.

    Thanks.

  3. Are you sure that is the ACPO police certificates? or the CRB ones? The CRB shows in detailed. We made the mistake of getting the CRB ones and it delayed our process after the interview. We had to order the ACPO ones it showed the " no trace, no live trace or trace" that people on here are talking about.

  4. What part of the UK is your fiance from that people can't understand him?

My fiance is from Hastings. He talks fast sometimes and that is when they have a hard time understanding him. I am use to his accent now. I don't think it is quite as strong as some of my friends from Manchester :)

  5. you probably tired of repeating yourself to the yanks :P When my family and friends can't understand my fiance I tell him "babe, speak English" Just joking ! I know what you mean. Would be nice to have someone from the UK to talk to. I worry about my fiance feeling the same way. It would be nice for him to meet others here from the UK :)

  6. When it comes time for your interview, if you need a co-sponsor it is a good idea to bring the co-sponsor form too. London is now asking for them (at least in our case). I do work 2 jobs but are just under the requirement so the IO asked for our co-sponsor. The IO also looked at the photos that were sent with our K1 petition and asked my fiance questions about them.

  7. I don't think it matters alot, if I can get on the site,... I think it's just going to say that the hard copy will be in the mail.... Well, they mailed it on Dec 2, so... nothing today, I'll expect it tomorrow.

In the mean time,.... Just Another Day in Paradise :innocent:

The positive point is that.... something is being done, and if it's nothing too much with the RFE, then... A decision soon after addressing whatever matter they have come up with.

Did you check your Email? When I was waiting for my NOA2 I received a text like that. But when I got home to check my Email it gave me more info that I was approved. The Text did not mention it.

  8. Every time I called DOS after the interview to find out if the embassy received the additional documents needed they would tell me that we are in administrative review and they could not see anything else and i would just have to keep calling. On Wed, the lady at DOS told me about the second meeting my fiance had at Knightsbridge. Today when I called Dos They told me that at the end of the month the embassy requested for my fiance to send his passport (but we had already done that 2 weeks after the interview when we sent the additional documents). Shouldn't they already know the passport is at the embassy already?

So whats new? The additional info that DOS is telling me that they did not tell me before the last 2 times I had called.

  9. That was not the point.

The point was to use the card to help your credit ratings right? Well if you have a hard time finding a place that takes the card ...the whole point is useless. You need to be able to use the card on a regular basis to make a difference in your credit. That is JMO. Sorry if I offended you.

  10. Should have got an AMEX Card, would have helped kick start the credit rating.

I don't think Amex card will help much most places or merchants here choose not to take it....The card is attached to expensive fees.

  11. We had our interview on Nov. 4th 2011, the IO said we were approved in principal he gave my fiance a pink slip but also a 221g slip for the APCO police certs. We had made the mistake of sending in the CRB one instead. My Fiance got the corrected form right away (paid the expedite fee 2 get it in 2 days) He sent the APCO and his passport via DX. After 3 weeks he got a call from knightsbridge wanting him to come in for a consultation/interview on Nov 26th 2011. A couple of doctors questioned him about 50 mins on a caution he received 7 years ago. After it was all done the doctors said, "They BOTH Would Be Writing To The Embassy TODAY - Telling Them That I'm Of Good Character & Lead Legal Life etc.and Once It's Signed Off At The Embassy I Should Be Getting Visa Next Week."

We are so happy that this is finally coming to an end and we will be able to start our lives together. :)

P.S. After doing some research on the results of the APCO. I found out that the embassy is suppose to do audits on NO Live Trace but sometimes they overlook it (some people get lucky I guess!)

I hope this will help someone in a similar situation.
