I ended up having to take a cab because flight was delayed leaving Calgary by 30 minutes. The cab ride from airport to Assumption Blvd was maybe 30 mins, and cost $60 ($55 fare + $5 tip)
Taxi from airport to downtown is $38 incase anyone plans to take a cab from airport to any of the hotels downtown...
Medical is done...ready to be picked up 230pm on Wed...and then interview Thursday at 8am... I'm going to do a reconnaisance tonight on where the consulate is and which doors to go stand in front of...

Hey everyone, I am arriving in Montreal on Monday and was wondering whats the best way to get to Dr. Howard Seiden's office from the airport? Their address is 5345, boul. de l'Assomption. I'm arriving around 730am, and my appointment is at 10am. So I know I'll be in rush hour, but what are my alternatives to a cab?

Reason I'm asking is that I am hearing of people being asked to fill out a DS-230 at the consulate, but I did everything out via online. So, should I have the printed DS-260 review with me or fill out the DS-230? Confused...just a bit

Hey everyone...thanks to everyone here to get e to this stage. I'll be heading to Montreal for my interview Aug 25...maybe I'll see some of you there?
I have a question regarding the DS-260. I printed off my review of the DS-260 that I filled out online and its like 8 pages in total. Is this what I take or do I have to manually write out this info onto a blank DS-260 and hand that in? LOL...sorry for the newbie question.

Wow thanks Saylin, thats awesome! I have to do the same thing...off to Staples!
Alsp, we paid the fees online ($88 + $404), but are there fees at theconsulate that have to be covered?

Hey everyone, the wife and I are at the final stages, and I finally got all my civil docs ready to scan back to NVC. Is there a certain order these have to be scanned in? I understand that I have to have the full pdf file under 10mb total.
Also, those of you that had the Interview, how did you organize your paperwork? Did you have a binder? I'm kind of getting scared that I won't have the paperwork in order when the officer asks for certain docs...organization is not my strength...but I have a feeling that I'm going to get better at it real quick!
thanks!

Just got our letter yesterday from NVC stating that they are processing our case and issued us our case number.
Now I'm a bit confused:
I sent NVC an email stating that I would like to receive all correspondence, and to cc my wife's email too. I sent it last night ,and am awaiting their reply. The email subject line had our case #, and the details had applicant name and date of birth, petitioner name and date of birth and a little blurb stating 'Please forward any correspondence to the following email addresses.' And that's all...was that what they were looking for?
thanks for your help and support everybody!

yeah it's definitely an intense waiting game. My wife called and then emailed NVC Research and here is their reply:
Dear Sir/Madam:
Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) contacted U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) to locate your approved
petition. USCIS has informed the NVC, that your petition will be en
route to the NVC. Once we have received your petition, the appropriate
agent will receive further instructions within 6 to 8 weeks.
Sincerely,
Jess

Hey everyone. Our petition started Oct 27th 2010 and we finally got the aprroval letters for both i130 and i129 back on April 14th. Now we await NVC to receive the case file from USCIS. After waiting nearly a month, my wife called and they said they have not received it as of yet...and they said it may take UP TO 90 DAYS!!?? Sooooo frusterating seeing everybody that filed after us and they already received Visa's... :/
This is crazy... anybody getting the same shiet from NVC?
-
I was in your position a couple days ago...we just got our NOA2 on April 14th. We have been waiting since Oct 27 2010, and our case was not touched at all the whole time (atleast according to the USCIS website). We also had a case put in, also had the congressman look into it. A week after getting the case and congressman involved, we had approval. I don't think the two had anything to do with it.
I hope its going to be right around the corner for you, because the waiting game really does suck.

Hang in there bud... my wife and I have been waiting since our petition was accepted back in Oct 27 2010. We never seen the case get touched at all. We called and they told us to wait it out and we did, impatiently LOL
But today, we received our approval letter and that the case has been moved to NVC. Again, we called and were told to wait out the 5 month process time... I have a feeling all the October filers will be hearing something this month.
Good luck bud!

Hi everyone..I've been on this site gathering as much info as possible. I am in Canada and my wife is in USA (California). We have an I-130 that has been received by USCIS OCt 27 2010. I read the process times for the California Service Center indicates approx 5 Months. Everyday I check and it still shows 'Initial Review'. However, I read the status updates here by members and I see a date followed by 'touched'...how do you find out that your case has been 'touched' LOL...this waiting game is killing us.
Sorry for the newbie question but I'm stifled
Thanks!
