  1. I took another set of originals and copies (just in case!) but I wasn't asked for them. Or any of the evidence of ongoing relationship that I took with me.

You would be very welcome at future events. It is a very friendly mixed bunch of people of all ages and they get together roughly once a month.

Sorry to be a pain, but what documents did you take with you to the interview? My interview is in 3wkss and I'm in a bit of a panic that I have EVERYTHING!! lol

Hope to meet you in Roswell soon...

  2. I never received a hard copy of the interview letter. I just printed out the email and that was fine. Good luck - we were in Roswell with the Brits in Atlanta Meet-up group last night!

Oh great!! The letter (e-mail) says not to bring any original documents if they were already submitted to the NVC. Did you still take them?? I don't want to leave anything to chance.

I wish I knew about the Roswell Meet & Greet as I have been here spending time with hubby since Thanksgiving!! Hopefully I'll be invited to the next one!! LOL!!

  3. Thing is, I'm in the US spending time with my husband. My interview is February 13th and I'm due to return to London shortly before that to prepare. My daughter has been looking out for the letter but thus far says it has not arrived. My husband has not received a copy of the letter here in the US either.

  4. Having done a visit visa and my daughters US citizenship in London... I would recommend you take everything original that you can, even if you've already submitted it previously. Don't give them a reason to refuse if you can help it :-)

Also as an aside.. the London embassy is more like a bank with different people at different windows. After passing security, you go in, sit down, get a number, get called, told to sit down.. possibly even get told to go out down the road and get 'proper' passport pictures and then come back lol. But it's an up and down process with long waiting times between being seen. The US embassy side is much more friendly btw.

Thanks very much! We'll get certified copies to add to the originals we already have... no point in leaving anything to chance!!

  5. So my interview has been set for 13th February and I have a question about what to take with me. The e-mail states this:

    Reminders

    * Any original documents that were requested by the NVC but were not submitted to the

NVC must be brought to the visa interview.

    * The applicant must bring his/her medical examination results to the visa interview in an

envelope sealed by the medical office.

    * The applicant must bring the correct size and number of photographs to the visa

interview. They must measure 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) on a white

    background.

    * IF a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) AND provided the NVC with proof of

an IRS Federal Income Tax Extension in lieu of a Federal Income Tax Return, the

applicant must bring the sponsor's most recent Federal Income Tax Return to the visa

    interview.

    * Failure to present all necessary documents to the Consular Officer will result in the

applicant's immigrant visa being refused at the initial interview.

I've read on the reviews for London that others have taken original documents despite having already submitted them to the NVC. Is this recommended?

Any help and/or advice from recent interviewees at London would be much appreciated.

  6. Hi everyone!

We finally have an interview date for February 13th!! YAY!!!

I have a question to any IR-1/CR-1 Filers who have already been interviewed at the Embassy in London.

Even though we sent the original documents to NVC, should I still take them with me to the interview? I have read in reviews that people have done so.

Also, my medical exam results are not in an envelope.

    Thanks!

  7. In my experience, it depends purely on the individual officer on the day. I told him I was coming to visit my Husband and he just asked a few random questions about how we met (Internet) and how long we've known one another (6yrs)and seemed satisfied I was returning to the UK.

  8. So I've booked a flight to go see my husband for a couple of weeks in November. (I'm going absolutely crazy with the waiting and we have not seen each other for 7 months!!) I have heard from several different operators that all the November interview slots are gone and now that we have this RFE I'm now praying for a December date.

If we get a December date and it falls too close to Christmas I am thinking of extending my ticket and spending Christmas with hubby and the family.

Does anyone know how much further I can delay my interview date without causing problems for myself?

  9. Congrats! I'm very happy for you! It finally paid off. Oh well, then TGIF (thank GOD its friday) to you! But I do envy! :crying: I want it to be monday already! :bonk:

I hope so too. But yeah, I'll do exactly what you've said. I'll bug them until they gave me consistent answers. If only my magic jack number can go through NVC's number, I'll call them non-stop anytime of the day! (My hubby's too nice to these inconsiderate operators, even when I told him to be mad, he being mad is still not mad enough for me! ) The RFE response review's taking us forever to finish! :crying: I think were the only one NVC September-October filer left who still doesn't has his/her case completed. The feeling sucks and I feel so hopeless. :(

We're still waiting too... Apparently my husband filled out the I-864ez instead of the I-864... So we just got our first (and hopefully only) RFE yesterday!!

  10. I don't entirely understand the situation: are you booked for a couple of weeks in November but planning on rescheduling your return flight? Or are you planning on returning to the UK then potentially visiting the US again?

As far as the interview goes, if you receive the date and you can't make it then you're fine to reschedule once. I don't see any issues with that. Unless you had your medical a long long time ago and have already delayed your interview?

Personally I had just arrived in the US in mid-December for a 6 week visit when I received the email saying my interview was at the beginning of January. Even if I'd wanted to, it would have been impossible to make this as all the flights were sold out. (Except for the million-dollar flights haha.) So I told them the problem and when I would be returning to the UK. I ended up with a date in February, about 5 weeks after the original date. So no problems, except for a slight delay, which wasn't a problem for me. One reason it was 5 weeks later rather than 3 or 4 was because various communication problems meant it took a while to talk to the Embassy: so I'd actually expect a shorter delay than this in general :-)

    Thanks for your response,

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear.. Yes I've booked a flight to spend a couple of weeks with my husband and if I don't get an interview date in early December will be extending my visit until after Christmas. Also my husband may be eligible for some leave in January so might be able to come back with me for a visit as he has not met all of my family yet.

Did you contact the Embassy in London to reschedule?

  11. So I've booked a flight to go see my husband for a couple of weeks in November. I know that all the November interview slots are gone so I'm praying for a December date. If the December date falls too close to Christmas I am thinking of staying there to spend Christmas with hubby and the family.

Does anyone know much much further I can delay my interview date without causing problems for myself? :help:

  12. Since after asking a supervisor to review your case, you still receiving checklist cover letters from NVC? We called NVC, they still can't confirm to us if they already have the RFE response we sent them (it was delivered to NVC last october 13 according to USPS tracking system). And when told that it was already received by their office, we we're told again to wait for another 20 business days. :crying:

    Hi there,

We get the same response when we call and inform them that USPC tracking system confirms our I-864 and DS-230 was received by them on October 13th!! Grrr!!!

  13. Ok I'm kinda panicking as I've booked my flight rather optimistically for November 24th... Now I see that others are being offered early to mid November interviews and our case is not yet complete, as we had some delay with documents going missing.

I was wondering if any of you had travelled to the States while your visa application was processing? I desperately want to see my husband (It's been 6 months)and have planned to go over next month with my daughter and her fiance for a couple of weeks. The three of us are travelling on the same flight with the same return dates. I'm sure I'll have an interview date by then also, so hopefully that will help.

Any advice you have would be VERY much appreciated!

  15. Is your case complete at NVC? Ours was completed on 26th September (they only received the IV package one business day earlier) and we called and spoke to an operator last night who told us that my interview is 8th November. You might be lucky.

PS Looks like we will both be flying to Atlanta!

    Thanks Cathy...

Our case should be complete sometime this week.. I pray that I get an early November interview like you!!

Where in Atlanta will you be living?

  16. We are currently waiting on an interview date and I have booked my flight for November 24th... (Yep, I'm always optimistic)!!

    My question is this:

How likely do you think it would be that I'm denied entry if I don't get an interview date before November but still want to use the purchased ticket for some time with my husband? What kind of proof (apart from proof of interview) do you think I'd need that I intend to return to the UK? :help:

    Praying hard!!
