Does anyone know if DHL is the fastest service to use for delivering documents to NVC from Lucknow,U.P India?

or is there another more preferable/reliable company?

I did not file my 2011 taxes because i was going to wait until my husband received his SSN. Since I am due a refund.

I have all my info entered in Turbo Tax but even if i file Married (separately) I need his SSN.

and since I am not single i can't file single, correct??? I thought the New Delhi embassy would give me trouble if I did this.

I have mailed my AOS with 2011 W-2s. very worried I may get a RFE.

Any advise?

I received my IIN last week over the phone and the emails NVC sent with the AOS and agent of choice... size was 0K so not attached properly, I informed NVC and they said over the phone that it will be resend. I have been trying to make payment on-line but I get the message

"You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information."

Do you think my IIN will change once they send the payment invoice again? or should i keep trying with the IIN i received?

It's there! yaaaay!! Gonna pay right now and start the process again! \o/

I wait almost a month after the NOA2, it feels so good to see that its moving again!

someone knows how can I open the attachments that NVC sent to my email?

In each email there is a pdf file that I cannot see what is it and it doesnt say anything specific in the email

one is the "ACL FOR NEOPOST DS-1200" and the other is " PAOSF I-130 FOR NEOPOST DS-1200"

Also, what does it means? My AOS bill was invoiced?

I received the same email this morning and can't access it either it says 0K for file size, so i am on hold with nvc.... i just called and they gave me my invoice number.

we got married Oct. 21 (civil marriage) came back to the US Nov. 4th. and filed on Nov. 28. so 38 days

Registrar of marraiges need 30 days request by both and after 30 days he will conduct marraige - need 2 from each side as witnesses.

In case of Special Marriage Act, documentary evidence regarding stay in Delhi of the parties for more than 30 days (ration card or report from the concerned SHO). is this true for all cities or just if you are going to have a civil marriage in Delhi and it is not your soon to be spouses home city???

less expensive route - auto rickshaw (three wheeler)

least expensive bus or metro, but will have to get off 3km before embassy - so you will have to switch modes of transportation.

I think you would be most comfortable and save time by just booking a car and you will get AIR CONDITIONING!!! =)

(also have dipu ask the hotel people- you could rent a car through them.)
