  1. hello-

im currently working on a I-864 and stumped as to what to do about question 24. i am a USC and my husbands #1 sponsor, his co-sponsor is also filling out a I-864 and is well above poverty level. However, the co-sponsor filling out the form has a wife whom he files taxes jointly with, she is above poverty level herself without him.. does she need to be included on the number 24B list because they file together, he makes enough to not need to use her income.. however, i was confused as to weather i should add her and make her fill out a form just because they file jointly...

so basically do i need to make my husbands Co-sponsors wife fill out a i-864a form, whatever that is???

    thanks again

  2. hello-

ive seen many posts on the subject and ill also ask a case worker when i can, but every situation is different and i wonder if anyone knows where to find the right facts.

my husband is about to apply for AOS, myself and my son are U.S. citizens. We are a low income family as im the only one working until he is able. i just started working after our recent arrival here. However we have a co-sponsor whom i dont want to ask for help, as i can scrape by if i have to. if i apply for Medicaid for just my 3 year old and child care service(help with daycare) will that affect my husbands adjustment of status? or will they go after my co-sponsor?? and if there is no reason i cannot get help in those areas, can i push it as far as getting Medicare for all three of us? or is that against the rules? i dont know who to ask as the government agency's that deal with child and family services seem to think its ok for my son and myself to get help and unsure about my husband.. i dont want to pay back the money, down the road, or have my co-sponsor, like i said id rather scrape by.

    thanks for any links/info

  3. when coming in on a k1 visa, myself and my fiancée were told our sealed k1 packet would be kept by customs until its joined with our spouse packet when we proceed with the next visa step wich is adjustment of status.. is this right? when we file for AOS, they will have the rest of the K1 info already on file? we didn't like that 7 months of medical exams, forms and interview information was taken from us by a customs agent. how do we find out info on this, or any other form questions we have for the AOS process? did everyone else have customs keep the K1 packet when arriving in the U.S?

  4. working on i-864

if im not yet working (i am my husbands sponsor) and am under poverty level, i really have nothing to fill out.. we're in the states and have gotten here through a k1 visa with a co sponsor. it seems myself the sponsor and my co-sponsor both have to fill out this form. is this correct? and since i have very little money since we just moved, have a new job but not yet working and have been out of the country for 2.5 years im not sure what i should be filling out.. i dont even have any tax information for the past two years. what do i do about taxes and w2's? just fill out what i can and have my co sponsor fill out his as well? or will i be told i need to have some sort of tax info?

there isn't much info in the step by step guide for someone in my situation, where our co-sponsor is mainly all our finances on paper.

  5. we have gotten the K1 visa- we have arrived in the states- we have been together for 4 years living over seas and are now starting to get settled in the u.s.. i am the u.s. citizen and we are cutting it close to our 90 days to get married (we have 40 days to wed) our lawyer was expensive and not really helpful in many aspects but she always pointed us in the right direction at least, now im overwelmed and dreading paying this lady an arm and a leg to "point me in the right direction" -

so what next? we get married, get a certificate and follow the guidelines My link

    to get a I-485??????

when we came into the states the customs officer kept the sealed packet we arrived with(visa, medical, proof) and said it would be joined with our packet after marriage, so is a majority of our forms already done and there? we dont need to fill our any more financial or demographical forms right??? its all been done. i have no clue where to begin.. is there a checklist on the uscis website im not finding?

    lost.

    thanks for any pointers.

    nik
