  1. Hmm. I do not recall saying anything like that, CGivens. I do intend on making a full post of all the details of our journey. I have not had but four hours of sleep over the last three days. I do aplogize for not being more resposive with you guys. Yes, she does forget things very quickly. When she talks with me and I have learned that I only have less then two days to inquire about it. You do not know her. I really would have thought that she would have post her details on the VN forums.

  2. Well it is a bust. She can not remember the time of day from exactly 24 hours ago. I have tried but she has a very poor memory and she did not write down any of the questions on the VN forums that she "USES". So she can not help me to return the help to all of you. crea78, if you click on Timeline at the bottom of my member info under the VN star it will show you (it was three days shy of three months from NOA2 to interview. It took us eight days to return p3). I will keep this up to date. I front loaded with everything at the time of filing I-129F and my p3 return to interview took six weeks. I see it usually takes about ten weeks from time of p3 return until the interview. I will have to right some more better detailed info. I am very beat with working extra on my day off and preparing to fly over their for wedding party, buying rings and all of that good stuff.

I will leave Houston on 11/1 have wedding party, wedding album on 15/1 then we will leave SG on 25/1 together. Let me know if you are in town.

  3. I would have to think that was a trick question. I will have toi aske mer better details. I am working now and I am trying to think of a better format to give as much detail as possible.

  4. I have the best news. Loan passed her interview. She was one of the first in line and her interview lasted less than five minutes. She was very nervous and did not sleep at all last night. When she went in for interview she saw and older man (CO) and he was a happy man.

The CO complemented that we were a cute couple and admired her modest engagement ring.

He asked her a handful of questions and she received pink. Here are the questions.

How did yoou know your fiance?

When did he send you the first email and what did he say in that email?

Where did you go when he come here to visit you? any evidence?

    When was your engagement ceremony?

Did his parents come to Vietnam to join your engagement party?

    Has your fiance married before?

    Whats your fiance’s job?

When will you make wedding and where?

What is your plan after you enter US?

    When was he get divorced?

    Does he have children ?

do you know thier name ?

    who are they living ?

Do you know about the K1 visa and marriage requirements?

I am just as lucky as luckytxn. I will have to type a review and update the timeline now. I hope you all have the best of luck with your interviews and even more luck with the new year.

  5. Hello everybody.

I hope you are all prepared for Christmas or other holidays. Right now Loan is waiting to enter the big building in Saigon. She is very nervous about her interview. I think she may have slept four hours. I will try to get the questions from her. When she is finished. I just hope she gets to talk with me before my bedtime and I will give you guys and girls an update.

I am curious if anybody else in the VJ community has is having their interview in HCMC today.

  6. Really? She would never be interested in becoming a USC? There's noone from her family would be interested in obtaining Tourist Visa? And once she's become a USC, she would not be obligated to file a petition to sponsor any of her family member to come to the US?

LOL! I am sure that one or more answers will be yes but you do not have to bust his bubble about being free from USCIS. I am saying this in all good jest. :D I am in a very good mood and happy that hniHnitsuJ is very happy.

  7. Thank you az110965 for your quick response. Those were my thoughts exactly about the divorce decree and with my employer there is not changing their minds about anything. They hire third parties to handle all aspects. I think there are four stages to get somebody hired and the first three are through another company and that part takes about 5 months. My mind as at ease and I have all of my tax returns and transcripts. Thank you again for your knowledge.

  8. My boss has informed me that it is against company procedure to produce a letter of employment. They gave me an 800 number, for a third party company, so the CO can call.
    :bonk:
Tomorrow I will go to my credit union and hope they will give me a letter for the I-134

paperwork. I have also contacted my ex wife about a notarized letter stating that we are not and have not been living together since before our divorce in 2000. She said "no" because her name is private. I am interested to know what others have done about getting something for this situation with an ex wife. Should I worry about having proof of not living with her, since before our divorce in 2000, for the HCMC consulate?

    I need a sig. :star:

  9. I am becoming more excited as everyday passes by me. Thanks for the info. I will be happier when I can take more than two weeks off at a time. :(

  10. Remember that everything is busier/ more crowded at Tet. So last minute plans may be tougher.

Get the highest class service on the train. OR better yet, hire a car to drive you.

Never had any issued regarding booking one room in VN.

Way too early to be thinking/talking about visa denial. Concentrate of preparing for success.

Thank you for the sage advice and kind words, anh map. I am working on the concentration but wanted my love to have something to look forward to and be happy about. She is very happy now.

Just book one room for the two of you. There's no problem.

It would be nice. I know from my last trip there that the receptionist wanted her ID just to walk inside the hotel lobby. I gave her a serious look and said "no, she is using my tmboile wifi calling to the states". She just gave me an ugly look.

She did not have her ID on her.

...My wife and I stayed at the Hai Au Spa & resort in Mui Ne. Booked it with Agoda and the manager gave us a free room upgrade. The food was great, the service was excellent, it has a private beach, nice pool, The only drawback was it is a bit isolated. So anything you want to do you need to hire a taxi.

    Good luck with everything

Thank you for the link and luck. I will discuss that hotel with her.

... Keep in mind that right at Tet, the whole rail system shuts down for a bit, so.... prepare accordingly. I love the train. Honestly, I always look forward to riding the train in VN b/c I can't afford a seat in the US, let alone a luxury sleeper.

That was my thought about traveling on the train. At first we thought about Da Nang but that is too far. :(

  11. Well yesterday I received an email of NOA2. I have updated my timeline already and if it different on the paperwork then I will change it.

Loan and I have talked about our plans if she is denied a visa. We like the idea of my return for Têt. We will have a Dam Hoi before then an album wedding after the new year.

We are wanting to have a few days to ourselves in Mui Ne. A nice honeymoon if you will. I am curious about any of my fellow VJer's experience with coffee money for hotel accomodations. Should I just book two rooms or offer fifty percent gratuity to management?

We are also taking a train ride from Sai Gon and I have never done that. Any personal experience on what to avoid on the train ride and which hotel in Mui Ne would you recommend if you went there.

I am now hoping that I am as lucky at Luckytxn (I hope I got it right). Either way on the K1 I think we will do this and it would be nice to bring Loan back afterwards. Thanks for your help and now I must start my reading on what to do next for the package I will send to my love for her P3 or whatever it is called. :)

  12. Your US passport was not stamped when you entered Vietnam? That sounds unlikely.

I can tell you that this had happened to me. You did ask me about not getting stamped a while back.

My visa stamp was stapled into my passport. On the day of my departure they removed my visa stamp and handed my passport to me. When I got home and began working on my k-1 petition that is when I noticed there was no ink on any of my pages.

  13. I payed for Visa on Arrival and the manager for UA in Houston got into it. She told me that copies or fax is not valid and I needed the original. That was money wasted on them. I will never fly United Airlines. That day I ordered my visa stamp for next day delivery and it cost 150 dollars.

I am all upset. They kept my sticker and did not stamp anything in HCMC customs. They did not even want to look at my little page that I filled out at the last minute.

  14. Hello VJ Community,

My name is Elton and my fiancée is Loan(Lucy). I am 36 years old and live outside of Houston, TX and Lucy is from Ho Chi Minh City, VN. Lucy found me on Yahoo and wanted to practice her English. We talked quite often and she consumed all of my free time. I had plans of going to HCMC in June or July for my first vacation outside of the USA. I mentioned to her that I would be interested in making a friend and possibly more. After two and a half months of talking I realized I had to meet her soon. I changed my vacation and made it there in the third week of January. Just in time for Tet(Lunar New Year). Unfortunately I could only spend fourteen days in HCMC.

My first week there was spending time with her family so we could learn about each other. I have no shame in saying that I not only fell in love with her but also her family. I received her families permission for her hand in marriage. I asked her to marry me and we have become very close now. It has not been the easiest road for me because I think too much. :clock: I am adjusting to having a long distance relationship and I have learned quite a bit. I have found VJ to be very comforting, scary and resourceful. I hope to meet new people and learn a lot more on my journey with Lucy in my heart and VJ by my side.

    PS

I have the indent command in my paragraphs but they do not work. I could use some help with this please. Thanks in advance.
