Checked online and received notice that card production was ordered April 16th. Updating our status on the list. I know the confirmation came really early after sending our reply. I believe this is because I mailed 2 letters from people that have known us, and Larry has worked with, since before we were married and they are immigration advisors at one of the largest universities in America so they work with USCIS everyday.

The annoying thing is it doesn't even specify what kind or evidence and what time frame they need it for. So seriously what are you expected to do? Send every bank statement for the last two years? I'm so pissed off right now I almost want them to send me home, if this is how I'm going to be treated I don't feel like contributing to this country. But that would cripple us financially and put incredible pressure on our family.

We just sent in our reply to RFE and I feel your pain. We mailed every single bank statement from 3 different bank accounts for over 3 years. It was a lot of time and effort to get but I feel it's worth it to keep our family together. I don't really understand why they feel that need all that stuff but what can we do?

Well I knew it was coming and today confirmed what we had already assumed. We received and RFE today. The funny thing is they are requesting evidence we have already mailed. In short I think that they just want bank statements (We forgot to include those in our initial packet) but I am curious if I should re-send information.

Previously we have mailed.

1. Every lease we have had since time of marriage.

2. Car loan showing we are joint borrower

3. Car insurance showing both of us on insurance policy.

4. Joint health insurance policy

5. Joint credit cards

6. Various bills showing either joint account or in single names but with same address

7. Passport stamps showing entry and exit from Vietnam during last summers vacation.

8. Multiple pictures and family events showing wife, myself, her family, my family and multiple friends.

I am under the impression that I should mail just bank statements and reference said evidence that I already submitted because outside of bank statements they are already in posession of everything. I may add more photos of us together but other than that I'm at a loss. Any advice would be appreciated.

Which receipt number are you trying to input? Is it the one that you received with your 1 year extension or the one that was listen on your biometrics appointment letter? They should be different and only one of them will work.

I am really late adding our case to list. Hope everyone begins to hear good new soon.

I filed my AOS packet on 13 JULY BUT received an RFE which was answered and received on 16 AUG.

So when I'm looking at the status dates and threads am I considered a JULY application or an August. When I call for a service request and they say they are processing cases from September am I one or two months behind? Just curious.

Be sure to check all the numbers on your forms that they sent you. They sent my wife an RFE when she did her AOS and they had assigned her two numbers so the whole process took almost a year because we kept waiting on an interview after our reply to their RFE. Long story short when they discovered she had been assigned two numbers and fixed it that day at the service center we had our interview within 30 days. Good look and I hope the rest of your journey goes well.

Our interview was this morning at 7:20 in Phoenix. We went in at 7 and waited around until about 8 before being called in by a very nice lady. She made us raise our right hands and swear to tell the truth. Then she told us that she had decided not to record our session and asked for id's and her passport, I-94 and EAD card. We handed her that stuff and she began by asking a few questions from the pack ie Have you been trained to use weapons, have you been a terrorist, have you ever entered the US with forged documents, etc... Then she asked my wife where we got married. My wife told her Safford, AZ and she then flipped through a couple of our photos and handed them back. She then asked me how we met and I told her at school in WA. Finally she asked me for my address and then asked my wife if she lived at the same one. I handed her a copy of our new lease and she handed it back and asked if we had other stuff in both our names. I handed her our electric bill and directv bill which she handed right back to us. Then she began printing out s sheet of paper and underlined a few things on it then stamped and signed it. Then she asked my wife if she wanted to keep her last name or take mine. My wife told her take my husbands so she made a correction on her paperwork and stamped the file approved. Then she explained that it was a conditional approval and that we needed to get her name changed on the rest of her stuff when her green card arrives in about 1 week. She also said that she isn't allowed to travel until the green card arrives and she has a new Vietnamese passport with her new last name in it. Then she walked us out and said "have a good day". All in all I think our interview went very well. It was over in about 10 minutes and they never took a shred of evidence. She made us feel comfortable and we both told stories of our families.

It was a quite a wait and all of it because they messed up her A# on one form Anyway yes our interview is in two weeks. Excited and nervous and the same time!

Every times I read your post, I always wondered why the timeline in your signature has been stopped and no progression since June.

Thank you for sharing, it made me went back to check my Alien number in all of my documents.

It's probably good that you did check it. The supervising officer that we requested to speak with was the only one who figured it out. She said if they would have caught it earlier the process would probably have been over by now given the RFE.

Larry - Do you have an EAD? If so, and you haven't heard anything more about the GC, you may want to apply for another one 3 months before the current one expires. I'm almost certain the second one is free as well as long as you include a copy of the original AOS NOA1 and file for it under the same basis as you did for the first time with AOS.

Four more months? I am going to die if it takes that long. lol Anyway yes, she has her EAD card and it's valid until June I think. I will remember to have her apply for a new one 3 months out if they haven't gotten our interview scheduled yet. I don't think they will be in a hurry after listening to them this morning though. They just acted like it was a small mistake and they shouldn't be in any hurry to fix it. (Go figure)

So we went for another infopass appointment this morning at USCIS Phoenix. For the first time since we have been going there and calling they realized that my alien number was printed wrong when I went to get my biometrics. So, naturally they had me retake them and instead of expediting based on their mistake they have stated that it will be processed from where it was left off. I am hoping for a quick resolution to this matter as it has taken what seems like FOREVER!

I got my SSN yesterday. Its says "for work only" i just have a quick question. Can I use that number to change my status in school? Im stating a new semester and I would LOVE to pay less obviously!

What state are you in school in? All states vary in the way the approve residence for tuition purposes as it is completely up to the state government. That being said for my wife to be approved for residence at ASU we had to submit a copy of the I-765 showing that we had applied for her AOS along with her Arizona ID card, copies of some bills together, our rental agreement, etc... They don't really care that you have a social most states want to know that you are legally able to make that state your home for some time. Your marriage to a USC is usually pretty good proof if you have applied for AOS. If I were you I would contact the residence office at your school and they can give you their SOP's. Good luck!

I got NOA for I-485 a month ago. However I haven't received biometric appointment letter yet. Yesterday I called USCIS and they opened a service request for me and asked me to wait for 15 days. I am not sure what else I can do. Any suggestions?

Also does anybody know whether the online case status changes when they send me the biometrics appointment letter? Now the status for me is they received the I-485 and sent me NOA. If it does change when they send, I would know whether you've sent that or not.

No, your case status will not be updated when they mail you the biometrics appointment notice.

No word yet. Beginning to think that we are never going to hear anything. Hopefully you get your card production order soon!

AOS interview tomorrow, 7:30AM.

I just hope they approve the GC on the spot tomorrow. After 8 months, we don't want any more delays.

My field office must be very slow. I haven't heard anything since my biometric appointment mid August.

I tried calling USCIS for a case update (nothing shows on website) but I can't seem to find how to talk to a human being. Any of you know how? Should I rather make an Infopass appointment? It's been 4 months and 17 days now since my NOA...according to their timeline, it should be processed within 4 months.

What should I do?

You can do an infopass appointment but they will just tell you what you can read for yourself on the screen. You can call the USCIS number and have them submit an inquiry if it's outside of the processing time, though you said you couldn't figure out the prompts on there. So my recommendation would be find out who your congressman is from this site https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml and call them. They have a person who will send will send you some privacy release forms and they can submit the inquiry directly to USCIS headquarters. It will take about 30 days but you will know exactly what is going on with your case and when you can expect a result of some sort. Good luck!

so i finally found a civil surgeon who wont charge us 300 dollars!!!! they was gonna charge me 15 but at the end they said they would do it for free the only problem its they ask me for DS-2053????????? To prove i had my medical exam and i dnt know how to get that (

Also my TB was positive but i dont have TB im only a carrier would they denied my green card for that??.

The civil surgeon should have a copy of that form. At least ours did. And they shouldn't deny you for being a carrier. They are worried about active cases.

It is actually illegal not to carry it around at all times - can lead up to 30 days in prison. That being said, I do not know if they would ever enforce it.

It's highly doubtful given the fact that they don't even fully enforce the laws pertaining to illegal immigration.

Were still waiting mailed in march 2011, acknowledged April 2011.

We are doing different procedures but in almost the same boat. We originally filed in March too and are still waiting on an interview in Phoenix. Hope that you get some kind of notice soon.
