  1. Yes, I believe you have to call NVC to see if they received your application yet. Once they receive it, they will assign a case number for it, and mail it to the embassy. Best of luck on the rest of your journey!

usually takes how long for NVC to send to the embassy for the case number? i already know the case number from NVC letter so can i make appointment for medical check up or should i wait til embassy email my fiance?

  2. Yayyy good news - 2 Feb peititions approved at VSC so far today - congrats  AJ & NINA - did you knock on wood after you posted?! Nothing from CSC yet but they are a couple hours behind and people may update their timelines later..so who knows.

lovelyjoy, you make me anxious to go dress shopping too.. but we haven't even decided if we're going to have a traditional ceremony, I keep going back & forth about it - but I so want a dress.. I look forward for a few months ahead when people will post wedding pictures, ooo yes it is exciting.

smasbreuk, I have no idea about denial.. I definitely read a ton more happy stories than sad ones on this forum, but I don't know. I'm a bit nervous too, but there's not much we can do. I don't know much about the Embassy in Indonesia - but I hope they work quickly so you aren't waiting in anticipation too long.

Yes i just got case number from NVC and waiting embassy here send email then prepare for medical check up. yes we are all here just want happy end, and i think they wont deny if all is complete

  3. $75USD to mail measely papers.. ridiculous. It is pricey to "overnight" to Trini too. Next day delivery actually takes several days - talk about false advertising.

    Congrats Andrey & Milena!!

Lovelyjoy, about time huh? I thought NVC was supposed to be quick, but I suppose a couple weeks is nothing compared to the NOA2 wait.

Welcome smasbreuk, you should get that case number soon.

Would anyone like to put a good word in at VSC for the rest of us? This week VSC has approved petitions from August, Septemeber, October, November, December, January, and March - but nothing from February. I am pretty sure we have no red flags or anything obvious to worry about, but every day I get a little nervous or paranoid. Lately I've been thinking about the interview and getting denied there. I wish there were more members or reviews for Trinidad like there is for Canada or the Phils.

jingo, I have read from other VJ members that once a form expires they will continue to accept it until a new version is published. There are also some forms which indicate "previous versions also accepted." I do not know this for certain and have only read about i so I can't give you a link/source - but hopefully they will post something new on Monday. It's really not a complicated form so I'd hope Consulars would be understanding... but who knows.

    Thanks Danik, how bout you?

yes i hope next week my fiance will get the case number cos its really killing me here, just waiting and can't do medical check up :( because the other thing already done. maybe NVC very busy and on monday, they have day off

still kinda nervous until the interview huhuhuhu

Do you think, the embassy could reject the visa? or its all just want to make sure if we are truly in this relationship?

  4. Just to be clear - it is best (for you and everyone else) to post questions in the forum. This way you'll get a consensus of answer(s) and others can learn from this as well (that's why we're here after all). PM is fine but you lose the benefit of doubt.

The best thing to do is to review/study/learn the Guide as it will lead you in the best direction. The K-1 Flowchart is great for giving folks an idea of what happens in what order and about when to expect it.

Once folks have a better overall understanding of the process - then come back and ask specific questions if you have them.

    Hope this helps.

    Yes danke schon Otto

sorry and Pm just because we are come from the same country and would be better if we talk with our language in PM than on this thread

  5. Welcome here smasbreuk.

    1. The timeframe is different for each person, for each case. Normally 3-5 months but some quicker, some longer. Mine was longer, take 6 months and more to get the approval due to the earthquake in Haiti before, so the USCIS seemed took care them first than us. Just be patient.

    2. After you got approval, prepare:

    a. Certified original affidavit support form or I-134, collect at least the paystub of ur fiance's wages, ask ur fiance to send you the letter of employment from his office/company, bank statement, proof of assets, one year US return tax page/1040, and W2, proof of ongoing relationship, etc. Ask ur fiance to send u the certified original copy of his divorce paper (if he married before). You also have to bring the Medical Check up review. The translator and the clinic must be the ones they choose. They will let u know about the translator and the clinic you should use the service on Packet 3.

    b. Complete the papers that will be sent later by embassy by email. This email we call it Packet 3. They gonna send the Packet 3 to ur fiance's email and they gonna ask him to forward this email to you.

    c. The Birth Certificate with English translation is one of the paper that include the packet 3.

    d. So far Indonesian Embassy approve 99% of the petition.

Dont worry, just keep stays and active here, and searching, then you gonna be smart about it by yourself. While waiting the approval, you can search about this and that here. This site is really helpful.

Thanks a lot Utha, and congrats for you yeaaa finally

btw all the letters from my fiance must be real one not copy right?

so now i have to wait from USCIS to approve then goes to NVC and get ready to prepare everything right?

can i asks you more on PM? much better lol cos lot of questions and dunno where to asks
