  1. I have been trying to find a Civil Surgeon in my area that even understands that I only need Part 1, 2 and 5 of the I-693 filled out. Everyone I call has told me my wife needs to have a new medical. Can anyone reccommend someone in the San Jose, CA area? This is the last part we need to file our AoS.

Also, my Wife was not given a Hep B Vaccination. Is that going to hold us up? She has started the first course now that I have her on my insurance.

  2. This is by far the most retarded of the processes yet to date. What, are the people at the USCIS stupid? They LOST all of the forms that were submitted a few months ago?

ONE, an affidavit of support has already been filed (Which is STILL binding)to get my fiance here in the first place. Two, if you follow these directions for your WIFE then your total number in question 21 is not correct based on what the form tells you. Three, a form G-325 has ALSO already been submitted. Four, if you have had your medical done already to GET your fiance HERE you dont need an I-693 PERIOD. I HAVE yet to find a civil surgeon that will do anything other than make you go through a COMPLETE reevaluation and I have called 15 already. I am not paying $300 AGAIN plus the OBSCENE amount required for the AoS in the first place. If you read the form I-485 for the requirements they do not match all of the stuff visajourney lists that you should submut. So which is true? REALLY? You really think a cover letter, table of contents, etc is required? I am very thankful for the help this site provided me in getting my fiance and I through the process but I have to say the directions and information about this process are not only confusing and misleading but offer no explanation on WHY any of these forms must be done AGAIN.

Yes, I am a bit upset after all the hoops you have to jump through and all the money that is spent on this process I think I have a right to question the process.

I have tried calling the USCIS and can never get through to anyone to talk about this. That's frustrating as hell.

  3. Hi there everyone. I have read so much helpful information here and I thank you all for all the work you have done in the past. I could never have gotten this far without visajourney. Now that we have our NOA2 and are waiting on the NVC and then the Consulate in Manila I am trying to figure out what comes next.

My question is: Is there another Visa fee that will need to be paid in addition to the fee that was paid at the start of this process? I know about the medical fee, NBI fee, etc. I have done some reading and I am seeing comments on a Visa fee of $350 US that needs to be paid in the Philippines before you can make your appointment.

Any help with this would be so great.

  4. How do you know what your USCIS is? You have no idea where your case is assigned when you send it into the Dallas lockbox, correct?

Is there a list of the acronyms everyone here is using? As far as I have seen there is no list of any of these. The first page of the "help" K-1 Visa forums has no reference to what any of them actually mean but use them in many places.

It might be helpful if there was a list pinned that explained them all. If I am just missing the list then can someone help me out and point me to it?
