  1. We didn't want the name headaches and hence filed with her maiden name the I-130. Then she took Police Clearance from Local Police and went to Vizag Passport Office and just request Police Clearance from them to immigration to US. That is it and there is no mention of any marraige in the request form and they gave their clearance in the same day.

cool yea the passport office she went to is in SURAT, no her attorney told her that they will mail it to her at home in a couple of days. so i really hope this happens fast, thanks for the info guys really helped.

  2. hi my wife did her interview and passed, all is needed now is a PCC, which we had but was not the right one. So when she went to get one they asked if she was married, her lawyer said if she was married she would have to get a new passport, now that would mess everything up since she has her visa waiting all is needed is the passport clearance, so She said she was not, so i would like to know from VJ experianced members what a PCC looks like, will it have any information written on it that says she is unmarried cause that would mess everything up. This is the only thing she needs to submit to VFS before she gets her visa, she has given in her passport to the passport office too, so it would really help if someone knows how long its takes for this process also. Thanks.

BTW US immigration has no problem with my wife using her old surname on the application, casue it is her old passport, when i asked NVC a while back they said it didnt matter cause we have a marraige certificate that says were married so as long as it doesn't say anything about marital status on the PCC then it will not even matter.

  3. Which one did she take for interview, for India there are 2.

    1-Police Clearance

    2-Passport Clearance

Someone was telling me now they only need the passport clearance they are not asking for the police clearance, but I had taken both.

It took 4-6 weeks from Mumbai, it could depend on where your wife is from.

gujrat, yea the passport clearance. damn really that long?well this sucks if its really that long cuz everything else was perfect.

  4. Means visa is not granted yet, she will have to get the correct PCC and they should have given her some form like 221(g) or something which show the documentation was not complete.

She will have to submit the PCC and the passport back to VFS and if all that is correct then her passport would be stamped with the visa.

She does not need to do the interview, she is done with the interview.

cool thanks for the info yea they did give that slip that says she needs the Passport clearance cert. Actually she actualy had a passport police cert but they said it was not the right one, someone interviewing showed the right one, so any ideas on how long it takes to get one?

  5. Hi im not sure if my wife is done with the interview or not, she did not have a correct PCC, so they told her to bring it in to VFS, but they did give everything i sent from here back and had her sign DS-230 part 2, page 4. They did not take the passport though, so i don't know what this means. any clarification or experiance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  6. I interviewed on the 12th of May, the actual visa was issued on the 13th and my passport was delivered on the 14th at six in the evening.

I had gone to VFS the day of the interview itself but they said that the consulate was backlogged and that day's batch hadn't come in yet. They said I could come back the next morning and collect it in person but I didn't want to stay another day in Bombay unnecessarily so I flew out that night and had them courier it to me instead.

ok so if i tell my wife to hand in the medical, the interviewer will definitely get it right?cause i dont want her passport delayed due to any mistakes. i wonder if any which way is faster.

  7. To clarify--the medical report was submitted to VFS (which was optional, I opted to do so) but I hand-carried the chest-x-ray to Mumbai.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me. I hope it's helpful.

    Good luck!

ok so you gave in the medical to vfs, maybe we'll do that too, when did you guy's recieve your passport? that day? cause were aiming for that lol. supposedly they had passports with the greencard back at 5pm in vfs office a fellow VJ memeber told last month.

  8. It would probably be best if you called your regional VFS offices and found out the requirements straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

This is a link to my interview review for a CR-1 last year. Hope it helps!

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/256469-cr-1-interview-review/

already spoke with them they dont tell you anything they just say bring whatever it says on packet 4, but it does not clarify on packet 4 if you should bring the medical to VFS or Interview cause i thought inyterview officer would have opened up the medical packet.i dont want her to give it to vfs if it is not neccessary.

  9. He did say that they were authorized by the Embassy to ask for any evidence. The rationale behind it being that if you are truly in love/committed relationship then chances are you are going to have a picture or two of your beloved/family member with you. I know that my parents still carry a baby-picture of me in their wallets. I said I had a few wedding pictures on my phone and he said that I could turn it on and show it to them. I promptly whipped out my phone and showed them our best lovey-dovey shots.

yea my wife has those shots of us on her phone too but you have to just show vfs like right there? ok so i will just tell her to make photo copies of everything cause i sent her all of the ds230 packet also, with the originals bieng sent to NVC, i only have a concern about the medical reports cause i thought the immigration officers was suppose to check them.yea my wife had problems with the PCC and Passport police records too, but i had her do it really early cause Indian Govt gives its ppl lots of probs. basically i guess give them copies of everything except the kitchen sink, maybe that too.

  10. And this is what I was officially asked to bring to the Calcutta VFS:

    --DS230 Part I and II

    --Medical Report

    --Interview Letter

    --3 Passport size pictures

    --Passport

    --Photocopy of all passport pages.

    --Photocopy of marriage certificate

    --Photocopy of PCCs.

    --Photocopy of Birth certificate.

--Rs. 387 for DHL courier fees.

even the medical exam needs to be sent to VFS? i thought the interview officer will want the doctory reports.

  11. it says that we have to send proof of relationship documents like phone records and such to VFS, and also all of the info that it looked like the consular officer would have looked at for interview to vfs, so i dont understand if we hand in the originals will the consular officer recieve them? like will i have to have two sets of copies for everything?

  12. Im a india petitioner and my wife's interview is soon, so basically most india beneficiaries pick up there passports at VFS after their interview is done at 5:30pm mumbai time, need info on this like what do you need to pick up your passport and if they give it back to you same day, many ppl on this site have gotten it back from VFS the same day, also where is it located, is it close?

  13. You have to send both to NVC but copy only. Your wife has to show both the originals at the time of interview. As far as PCC, you will get from your local district police headquarters. Just show them your noa-2 copy and most likely you will get your local PCC.

by mistake i already sent that along with the i-130 and its very difficult to produce another one. i did not know cis only needed copies so i sent the original of the pcc.

  14. The problem was fixed today. Clearing the cache did not help, neither did using a different browser (IE 8, IE 7, Chrome, Firefox). But, it was only three business days before the payment option became available online, so for anyone who is still wondering or who may read this thread in the future through Google or whatever, just know it will most likely correct itself.

    yes it was corrected today.

  15. My online payment screen initially showed $440 unpaid for the IV bill, now it shows nothing except the $88 I paid for the AOS, is that what you're all experiencing as well?

no mine actually didn't show anything, like it says there is no bill. even though the bill was emailed to me for the ds-230. the ds-230 payment area is in bold like you can pay it but no check box is there.

  16. Haha me too, I dont want to bite myself in the butt and CAUSE delay, but I also dont want to hang about if there is no need to. Did the operator give you an idea of the amount of time/delay it could cause?

Im hoping it wouldn't/shouldn't be a long delay. With it being memorial day weekend this weekend the post service may be busy so hopefully by the time the docs get there, the bill will be paid and whatnot lol :P

lol yea true, na she didn't give me a time for the delay, she just said their could be a delay.

  17. Im guessing the only delay will be that they cannot start processing the ds-230 until the IV bill is paid. The operater I spoke with assured me it was OK, so im going to get my packet ready to send, then right before I send it Im going to call one more time and see if they tell me the same thing.

Not that it might matter, but I might attach a post it note with the operators name I spoke with, informing them he/she told me I could send in the documents then just pay the bill when it appears.

lol, yea that sounds like a good idea.

lol, yea that sounds like a good idea.

so it looks like all of us are going to do the same thing, i really hope it works lol.

  18. yea im going to prob take a chance and send it in anyways, i hope there are no delays, cuz i have all the stuff for the 230 ready just waiting on the bill.

I am having the same problem as well. I spoke to two operators (the first told me to call back after 24 hours if things didn't change) and they told me that there is nothing they can do.

I found a somewhat related thread from March here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/298555-k-3-spouse-visa-unable-to-pay-the-ivimmigrant-visa-processing-feesfees-on-line/

The last poster indicated that their online payment worked after they had submitted the IV payment via USPS.

I like the idea about sending off the DS-230 with the AOS cover sheet. Just wondering though, what happens in the event you send in your IV packet and the bill does not become available to pay online, or the transaction does not clear before the package arrives to NH?

yea thats what the operator told me that, this can result in processing delays, so im scared now lol. but im gonna take a chance and send it. hope it works, i hope the bill gets generated tommorow, lol.

  19. Yep I just got off the phone with NVC and they said that is fine. The cover sheet/receipt page will be the same so you can go ahead and send everything in and then just pay the bill when it becomes available :)

    awesome!!!!

cool yea i did the same, but the lady i spoke to said to wait until the bill gets accepted or else there may be a delay in processing so i dunno what to do :S. cuz i can use the alternative method of mailing it but she said it takes about 10 to 15 days to be accepted, so i want to know if there is anyone else that has experience with this method of sending the payment, and also if i mail in the ds-230, befor payment acceptance, i don't want to have any delays.

  20. I have the same issue and was told to give it 5 days or just mail in a money order. My invoice was emailed yesterday but still no checkbox on the IV bill has appeared. Another poster said it took 3 business days to appear so im giving it till thursday, if nothing then i shall just mail in payment.

Let me know what you hear about the DS-230 using the same cover sheet as AOS, that would sure shave off some time

yea definatly i will. i hope it works.

  21. i paid for the AOS, and recieved a bill for the ds 230 yesterday on my email. But on the electronic payment system there is no check box for making a payment on the ds 230. called up nvc and they said it could be a glitch and wait on it a day, i am also using internet explorer so that outta the question. NVC also said that i can mail the payment which is a slower method but he said i can mail the ds 230 in at the same time using the bar coded cover sheet of the AOS, so my question is is this true??, wont a new bar coded sheet be generated when i pay the package 4 bill?. if not i may opt for this way cuz it looks like the system is glitched up or something.
