  1. I am hoping someone can help me with a RFE my wife received today. The letter states "The applicant's fingerprints have been rejected twice as "illegible" As such he/she is required to provide a letter issued by the local law enforcement agency(s) where the applicant has resided in the U.S. indicating the applicant has "no criminal record". The record search should include all the aliases the applicant may have used in the past. A separate letter is required for each law enforcement district the applicant has resided in the United States during the previous five years.

I already received fingerprints from the FBI, but not sure if I need to send them since the letter did not request. Also I have read others on the this forum where they were required to prepare separate letters from their country. Does my wife need this? According to this letter it just says a separate letter is required for each law enforcement district the applicant has resided in the U.S. during the previous 5 years. She has lived in one city since arriving here in the U.S.

Thanks. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  2. I sent out my packet for AOS January 26th, 2012. We received a notice for biometrics for February. My wife's fingerprints weren't accepted so we were scheduled again for April 5th, 2012. Since the second biometrics we haven't received a notice. Now it is 8/16/2012 and we haven't heard anything from USCIS. We've tried to call and email a few times, but we never received a email response. When we called the agent told us "we just needed to wait".

Is there anyone on the forum waiting as long and experiencing the same? Any feedback and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  3. We are applying for an AOS, which was sent out February 2012. My wife had her first Biometrics test February 21st. We received a letter from USCIS stating that the FBI would not accept the Biometrics test because it was unclear and could not further continue her background check. USCIS then schedule us for another Biometrics test for today. The problem is she does not have "definitive lines" on a few of her fingers therefore her fingerprints will probably be unclear again. What happens if the FBI does not accept her Biometrics test again?

Has anyone encountered this problem before? Thanks if anyone can share their similar experiences.
