  1. Just make sure that the ticket is booked in the name in the passport and that your wife takes a copy of your marriage cert with her just in case.

    Our condolences for your loss and wishing all of your extended family well.

    Thank you to all that care!

    My wifes passport is a pilipinas pasaporte so does she really have to have the airline ticket in her old name like in the passport??or can she have it in her new name with a certificate of marrige??I have to get the ticket tomorrow please let me know friends.Thanks Kurt and Ester

    Thank you all so much for the help in this matter!I contacted NWA I told them that I needed to know for sure the right way to handle this.NWA said that the airline ticket can be in her new name even though her filipina passport is in her maiden name because the original marrige certificate that we have is an official document that shows her maiden name along with her new name.And also she has her green card in her new name.These 3 documents are sufficient for her traveling to the philippines and then back to the USA.

  3. YES :yes: Green card allows re-entry after a trip abroad.

    I really dont care where I posted at this time.Just needed some answers quick to get my wife back to her family!

    Also this has nothing to do with working and travel prior to getting green card, she has a green-card, it should be under: "Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits"

  4. Hello All,

    I had done the K1 Visa to bring my now wife here in the USA.How many back ground checks(if any)are done on myself(the petitioner from the USA) I am only asking because I am applying for a job at an Ethanal plant and they have a Question on the Application that ask if I have ever been convictedof or plead guilty to a crime?(criminal conviction) back in the 1980s I had an OWI.I would think if Homeland Security did checks on me for the K1 Visa I would be fine to answer NO.Let me know what your professional thoughts are on this please.Thanks Born

  5. Well its Tax time again and I am wondering the best way for us to file our taxes this year!I have my regular job that I will receive a w-2 and my wife that just got here 6 months ago has been working now for 3 months and also will receive her w-2 from her first job in America.I have a daughter that i will be claiming also.I claimed 2 (my daughter and my self)and i had my wife claim -0- so they would take out more taxes.Is there a best way for us to file this first year of filing together? Anything different for newcomers to the USA?to get the most money back.Thanks Born

  6. Hello Friends that have always helped us get where we are today!Ester and I are together(she has been here 6 months now)Well I had a back injury at work 3 months ago and i filed for workmans comp and my employer is fighting it.Figures huh?Also appiled for unemployment because i was released to very light duty work and because of the work comp thing and my self getting an attorney for this mess they are fighting that also(I worked my ### off for these people)To make a long mess short I am broke!!Ester has her green card now and i dont want to mess up things later on for the resident status stuff(2 years i think)When she came here you all know about the "Becoming a Burden stuff"Question IS:Can i ask for any assistance like Energy assistance,Food stamps etc.. Just to get us by for now untill this work comp thing is done??I DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS IF IT WILL CAUSE ANY PROBLEM WITH ANYTHING DOWN THE ROAD!

    Please let me know!We live in Iowa if it matters.Thanks so much i didnt expect this kind of thing to happen.Kurt

  7. Our notice for our interview also says "Initial Interview".

    I would take the time to make sure there are things jointly in both names- unless you have life and health insurance already in your wife's name- then I wouldn't be too concerned. You have two children together! We'll be taking our 3 week old baby to the interview as well!!!

    I agree with collie we just had our aos interview 3 days ago.The most important things were the being able to support not becoming a burden,evidence of being together after you had arrived(letters to the home address, bank accounts in both names,utilitys, auto,insurance policys,etc..Also making sure she had health insurance.Get this stuff Done!!

  8. Visa delievery is good right now , my fiance and also my friends interviewed on feb 9 and both recieved their visa on feb 15 , then she got her packet { appointment letter } on feb 17 , this was a cebu delievery area for both

    :D Congratulations :dance:I am also taking the chance on the tickets.I bought a round trip for me and a one way back for ester Trough NWA.I told them that i was flying back for her interview and she didnt have her visa yet.All they ask for was her home address and her home telephone # name.My ticket is non-refundable thats fine i miss her so much im going to be with her during the interview.Her ticket NWA put down as refundable?I believe so much that God will let this happen for us so i am just doing it.All paper work is correct (im not rich)but i meet all the guidlines.And i also believe in my heart that this love is so strong for ester and God is on our side it should be ok! Thanks kurt and ester

  9. All it means is that:

    1.) A U.S. citizen cannot petition for more than one beneficiary of a K visa at one time;

    2.) Couples who met via international marriage brokers must disclose this fact (which, really, they always had to do anyway--the I-129F asks how you met, and 99% of couples are asked how they met during interviews);

    3.) The prospective foreign spouse must be apprised of his or her rights to not be subject to abuse or cruelty, and must be informed of any criminal past on the part of the U.S. citizen.

    I guess i dont understand some of you trying to petition fiances many times

    just because you couldnt have the first ONE you are going for another one.What happened to the one before??Im sure there are different circumstances but.I thought everything came from the heart where i come from.I think there should be more checks on people so each of them dont end up hurt!!
