  1. Age is not a problem, I'm 21, and my husband older than me, and everything turn out fine at the interview.

What they look for is for you and your partner to show the relationship is real, since there is a high number of fraud in Dominican Republic.

So just take proof of your relationship, pictures, phone log, ect that will help.

  2. Hey I have gone out to Dominican Republic on a one-way ticket a couple of times, and never have I had any trouble. It all depends on the agents you get to check you in.

(How I did it was I bought my one-way for the interview, and once we picked up my husband passport than we purchased our return ticket)

-The only reason I didn't buy my round trip was because If I wanted to change my flight in Dominican Republic it would cost me $100.00 dollars, and if the flight had changed/gone up I would have to paid the difference so it wasn't worth it! <-- I had ask this in Mega Centro the Jet Blue station they had there!!!

If I had an idea when the visa would be issue than I would have bought a round trip because it was worth it, but since I wanted to come with him I bought it a one-way because you never know how long the visa would take for us it was pretty fast we had our interview on the 21st of September & the visa was ready on the 27th of September!

    Good Luck Hun!

  3. I don't believe before you arrive they already have their decision made.. they probably have doubts or see red flags on the case, but once the interview is given is when they make there decision.

:ot: Is rare because for my interview I took more than 200 pictures of different ocaccions and I had than all in order.. and many other evidence and the guy didn't even bother I took my affidavit, and all my paper work that was sent out to NVC, and the I-130 petition I original sent out I took ALL THOSE PAPERS JUST IN CASE and not one paper was ask for.

Than I see other peoples review in which the consul wants to see all the pictures, and paper work... so just go prepare because for everyone is different.

Go with a confident positive attitude, and always say the truth no matter what. You will do fine.

  4. Is never too early, having everything ready for the NOA2 just makes the process much faster.

    Documents that have an expiration:

-Police Report : is good up to 30 days.

-Act of Marriage(spouce) : the legalization is good up to 6 months.

-Act of Birth (spouce) : the legalization is good up to 6 months.

recent Pay stubs, I sent in about 4 pay stubs, and for my joint sponsor as well.

The employement letter should have a recent date.

  5. Thank you guys , I real positive about this ... Im so excited cant wait , About our loss its sad, but as soon as i have her with me again it all in the making ... lol

Thanks love2011 , but what happened i see your missing domucments? did you complete your interview or still waiting for a date?

Opps I actually haven't update it.. well the missing documents aparently I guess NVC had lost my husband 2x2 passport size picture that I had sent in, and

I sent in a copy of my joint sponsor U.S. Passport but they were apparently looking for something that show citizenship of him living in the U.S so I send in a copy of his (U.S Naturalization Certificate)... and after I sent what was missing in I got case complete.

Yes I got my interview date for September 21, 2011 which is just 7 days away. :)

    Good Luck on your Journey.

  6. Hey, on the entire process I used my last name.. since is in my passport, Massachussets I.D and social security.

If you do change your last name, I would think you need to change it in all your documents.

my thoughts to you is use your last name, and once the process is over with make any change that needs to be made, and than you can use his last name when signing any documents.

    :D

  7. Me lo dices!! lol

Did he paid anything else other than the $350 dol like taxes??

    jajajaa ya lo sabesss!!!!!

Ok so i ask him and he told me he didn't pay anything else just the 350$ which you can also pay in pesos which is aquivalent to 13,300 pesos.

So here q quick run down..

    They took blood out,

he had to wait.. got an X-ray done/ (chest),

they made him take a seat and wait,

then they gave him 5 shots,

    they gave him a CD

& the final result we our going to pick up together the day before the interview :) woohoo!!

  8. Tell your SO he can go whenever he wants, the sooner the better!!!

So my husband went to get his medical examination done today. (AUG 29, 2011)

    Quick Summary..

He arrived at 6:30am, which there were already people there.

THEY DONT PERMIT PHONES so he didn't get a hold of his phone still the end.

He got 5 shots & a physical done.

    Spent over 200.00 dollars.

    & He left at 12:45am.

    :)

  9. Explore your options... Since I was here in the US my husband did everything needed to set up a day so when I did arrive we could get marry.

Where we got marry I dont remember the name out of the top of my head but once i do i will put it in another post.

They charge my husband about 5,500 and they were very strict about giving them the amount in a certain way atleast for us it was like that.

THE WANTED ONLY 1,000 & $50 only.. no change or more of the amount requested.

For my husband he was only require his cedula, and birth certificate.

For me my passport, birth certificate, single letter.

& we needed each 1 ""un testigo"" who was not family related.

They made us and our testigo sign on different pages, the judge talk for like 5 minutes explain what we were signing and all that good stuff... then she said if i accept him, and he accepts me we both said yeah ofcourseee lol...& I was laughing the whole time I dont know why but I was nervours, the whole process took like less than 10 minutes.. than we we're handed are marriage certificate right away :)

  10. I have alot of pictures, am taking every picture that I am with him, and pictures with him and my family and pictures that I have taken with his family & friends + the wedding pictures :)I have +200 pictures! I'm taking ALL kinds of photos.

    -call logs

    -calling cards

    -old conversations from ..MSN Mesenger..Hi5

-Picture when we met in 2003

-Marriage certificate (I don't know if that helps at all)

  11. I've been reading on here how many send in a ton of information proving they have a bonafide marriage. On the checklist it said to submit 2 letters from third parties verifying we have a bonafide marriage, which I submitted. I'm thinking now from what I've read on her that sending pictures, phone logs, etc may have been a better bet. I thought all of this proof was more for the actual interview. Did I make a mistake by not submitting these extras? Should I send them in now? Will it make a difference? Please Help!

You don't need to send evidence in because is not a requirement, even though some people send them in it's really up to you.

I didn't send any evidence in, and most of the people I know who are in the same process didn't.

Any evidence/verification of a bonafide marriage have to be present at the interview.

Unless you receive a letter stating that you need to well then thats a different story.

    Good Luck :)

  12. The same thing happened to me on my mothers birth certificate her last name was spelled wrong, so than I ask different people just to get some feedback from people that have done petitions, and they all advise me the same thing to leave it how it is on the original birth certificate... and really it doesn't matter much about her error on the birth certificate because the petition is regarding you and your partner.

    Good Luck

  13. I hope I'm in the right forum. I'm waiting for an interview date, in September. Does the NVC e-mail the interview date as soon as they find out? I'm going to start calling NVC everyday till I get an interview date.

    Thank you,

    Tony

If your case is complete and an interview date is already set but you havent receive the email.

You can always call DOS Visa Specialist (202)663-1225 and they will let you know if you already have an interview set.

    Hope this helps! xox

  14. anybody else having issues with their case number?? I keep calling and calling and they have no info about my case!! I am so worried that they have not received it yet!! It's been 3 weeks since my NOA2

if you have your receipt number from your NOA.. you can call the NVC automatic machine and enter your receipt number and if they assign you a case number it should tell you :)

  15. I do not know that anyone can really exactly know by when or what date the interview lists are uploaded to the Embassy's website. Besides, you should rather than rely on finding out of the interview date through the list, you should call the visa specialist. I found out about our interview before the actual list was posted on the website by calling the visa specialist every day after NOA2.

    Best wishes! (F)

    Thank You!!! :)
