  1. As we prepare to get another original copy of my fiance's birth certificate and as I wonder what other paperwork we may have lost to the "sealed envelope" handed over at POE I just wanted to remind those who haven't been to their interview yet to make sure they keep an original copy of such important paperwork. I got tired of making copies and didn't know they were going to take my fiance's birth certificate and not give it back. It is my understanding now that they would have accepted a photocopy. So...just another thing to think about as you prepare. Look ahead to what will be needed for AOS and what might be difficult to obtain once your significant other is no longer in their home country.

Great advice. My fiance purchased 2 copies of his Birth Cert from Kingston and kept one for himself and gave in the other. It comes in handy.

  2. It's not a normal weight time but DC is notoriously backed up so it's not necessarily uncommon for DC. We were lucky in that cases were being processed in 5-6 months when we went through DC a year ago but a friend of ours who went through DC a year before that waited almost 12 months.

thanks for your response. Goodness, im hoping that we get lucky.

Your font really hurt my eyes. Please just leave it normal.

    my deepest apologies. :ot2:

  3. I filed the AOS for my husband in September, and it was transferred on Dec 8 after an RFE sent Nov 29.

All this time I've been under the assumption that because it was transferred that this meant it was being transferred to CSC like everyone else's that I hear about on here.

    Sike!

Today, I decided to call USCIS and find out if any updates were made and they told me it was transferred to my local office here in DC, and that DC is currently processing cases from Febraury of 2011. Of course all USCIS can offer to do is a service request. To humor myself, I decided to check DC local office's processing time and it read ten months. I am praying this is not the case because this is TOTALLY gonna mess up my trying to go to ATI with my husband, lol.

I just wanna know is there anyone out there who has had a situation similar to this happen? Just trying to guage is this is a normal wait time, and if there is anything I can/should do.

    Thanks in advance,

    mo

  4. RIU is really nice.

Sandals also. And Sandals is very children-friendly.

If you're looking for a budget, but nice place, Rayon hotel is nice. Pansy is very good. Inbox me if you're considering this location and I will give you my name so you can say that I referred you and hopefully get you a deal :)

FYI- whatever you do, don't do Samsara. It's allltheway in the cut and has roaches.

  5. Hey Lexi!

Just tell your company that you need an employment verification letter that includes your title, salary, and the date you started until present.

It has to be on company letterhead.

For example, the first paragraph of my employment verification letter read:

    To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to confirm employment of _________. Ms. _________has been working as a Project Administrator on a full-time basis since June 1, _____. Her current annual salary is $________. This

position is full-time and year-round, rather than of a seasonal nature.

The next paragraph is a bit about the company itself.

Lastly, its signed by the HR Generalist.

  6. "Any ol' DS-3025 may not be acceptable. They'll give you a DS-3025 whether you got the required shots needed for AOS or not. Some doctors fail to sign them. Some fail to complete the results section. I will say Knightsbridge clinic is very good at ticking the right boxes and signing if you got your shots and told them you had chickenpox.

There are certain things your DS-3025 should have to be considered complete.

Look at your DS-3025. If it has the following items, you don't need an I-693.

    1. Shots marked (at least one of a series)

    MMR

Td or Tdap or DT or DTP or DtaP (date no longer than 10 years ago)

Varicella or VH written by it if you had chickenpox

    2. Everything else marked not age appropriate or medically appropriate.

    3. RESULTS section filled in with "incomplete". AND "may be eligible for blanket waiver"

    4. Signed and dated by the doctor

If it's not completed like that then see a civil surgeon for the I-693. If it is complete, send a photocopy of your DS-3025.

Do NOT do what UK person ECWilloughby did recently and send in an I-693 without a doctor's part filled in along with the DS-3025. Do one form or the other.

The USCIS is supposed to have your medical files, but sometimes lose them or fail to match them up with your AOS. Do not get another exam unless you get an RFE that says they do not have results of your medical. It means they lost them, but you are probably stuck with paying for a new exam. Your official vaccination results are also part of that file. We send the DS-3025 photocopy more to remind the person opening the mail that we are intending to use that DS3025 to prove our vaccinations, rather than an I-693. The official "sealed" version is in you A-file (brown envelope) which they are supposed to get and match up with your AOS.

The DS3025 has to have all those things, not just some of them. Incomplete is fine if the box about blanket waiver is also ticked"

    Thanks in advance all :)
