  • Our Story
I'm an American from Virginia. I met my New Zealand husband when we were both teaching in South Korea in 2008. We started dating in 2008, travelled to America and Mexico and came back to South Korea in 2010. Got married August 3rd, 2010 and are hoping to go back to America (for good) in March of 2012. We're doing direct filing at the Embassy in Seoul. We also have 2 rescue dogs, Hopie and Bambina, whom we adopted from here. ANY help you can give is welcome!

  1. I thought once we got to America our troubles would be over but it seems like now all we do is fight. :-(

Honey, hang in there. It's a power struggle at first. Total merging of worlds. Compromise is key and picking your battles. We have slowly learned to come to each other before we are angry, and that helps for each person to hear the other. Good luck and remember, you love this man.

Thank you so much. He's frustrated because he's having a hard time finding work in his field. I really appreciate the kind word.

I understand. Being a man and not being the main support can really hurt their pride. This is where you might want to give him a little space. Let him work this our. Assure him he is definitely YOUR man. If you had to stay home, he would probably understand. It's all about balance. And my husband is trying to find his too.
