  1. If the place where the marriage took place recognizes the marriage as valid, then it should be considered valid here in the U.S. You just have to submit other things to prove your marriage.

What do you mean by "Currently no muslim marriage is registerable with government."? Marriage is a marriage. Just fill out whatever form your government wants to get the marriage license if necessary.

there are only three ways in ireland to get a certificate of a valid marriage. 1. marry in registrar office. 2. in church. 3 jews marriage system.

but currently no muslim marriage according to Muslim way , is recognised in ireland. we have to do in registrar office.

but due to some rediclous Irish laws I am unable to marry in registrar office.

  2. Dear Friends

I always find this forum a really helpful.

In past me and my fiance were getting information from this forum. We were to marry soon but some stupid laws of Ireland , we could not marry in Ireland.

I am in Ireland and she is in USA.

I want to know if someone can help. I am muslim and we do Nikah for marriage. if we both do Nikah and then apply for spouse visa, will it be ok or we must have to register with government and get a certificate from authorities.? Currently no muslim marriage is registerable with government.

    Any Suggestions?

    thanks Anwar

  3. Oh I think they have changed now. they need to give 3 months notification. and if spouse is living outside of ireland then we can send our documents and she needs to be here 5 days before we are marrying. its like I have appointment for 1st of july, on that day i will give notification of marriage and then we will marry some time in oct. my fiance needs to be here 5 days before. that is what they told me on fone . I hope its correct information.

  4. Well then marry in Ireland

There will be a question asking which consulate abroad you would like your petition to be sent to, put Pakistan

    Good luck

Oh thanks I understand it. I think i read some where that u need to apply in same country where u get marry. thats why I was asking. thanks very much. And I say thank to u , u r the first ever in my post to reply. I really appriciate it. :)

  5. You may file the paperwork while you are in Ireland listing your consulate at Pakistan

you may marry where every you wish

    Good luck

so I can marry in ireland and go back to pakistan and then we mention american embassy in Pakistan in our form and I can file in Pakistan. I am leaving ireland soon. but we already have plan for wedding in ireland. we met in ireland. engaged in ireland so we want to marry in ireland too. :)

  6. Listen.. let's make it simple for you to understand..

1- I-129F = Fiancé(e) Visa which it means not married yet. So if your fiancé(e) visit you in Ireland and you marry, then you're not a fiancé(e) anymore, you'll be husband and wife. Married is married, fiancé is fiancé.

2- If you really wants to get married, so instead of sending the I-129F, you wait, get married, and THEN apply for a SPOUSE visa.

3- If you do not get married, then your case it'll be a fiancé(e) visa.

If you get MARRIED, you can't send the I-129F, because then you're not engaged anymore. The whole purpose of the fiancé(e) visa is for the couple to marry but, after getting approved, and after your POE, you have 3 months to get married once your loved one arrives in the U.S.

    Good luck.

    Carolina.

Thanks very much. U really made is easy for me to understand. See u soon some day in NC, :)

  7. If you file the I129F and it is in process, she goes to Ireland to visit you and you marry, you can then start ALL over again with a spousal visa. The I129F is for a fiance, not a spouse so if you were to marry, you'd lose the filing fee and will begin again - no way to 'switch' either

If you are set on marrying, simply file for a spousal visa after marriage

    Good luck

Thanks very much. We will see what is best. thanks for giving information. :)

  8. Hi to all

my fiance ( US Citizen) is going to apply our I-129F by this week. She will come to see me in Ireland, in septeber. Is that a good Idea, that when she comes here , we marry here, while our I129F is still in process or may be that time we get approval.

if we get approval for I 129f and she comes here, we marry and apply for spouse visa here in ireland?

I dont know about his. or may be we wait and dont apply for I129f and once we get marry , then we do spouse visa. what option is best for us? our I129F is totally complete and is ready to ship.

  9. I just mailed my I-129f petition on Friday. Do your homework and the guide on here explains everything you'll need. Also for doing the work and you want it right remember there are no stupid questions. Any doubts just post the question and someone will help. Also with my ongoing proof of a relationship I sent what might be overkill but my mentality was better to send too much than too little.

    Good luck!

what things we need for to prove on going relationship

  10. I believe you, as the beneficiary, may apply from anywhere - you don't have to apply from your home country and you can choose the consulate you'd like to be interviewed at when you fill in the I129f paperwork.

The difficulty you will face is in proving the validity of your relationship. I don't know you and I am assuming your intentions are sincere but after reading about the immigration process on this website for the last several months, it sounds like very nearly all Pakistani nationals (especially males) go through a rather long period of Administrative Processing after their interviews no matter where they live. Additionally, because you are seeking asylum, even if you are granted it before the interview, your relationship will likely be scrutinized more deeply to be sure you are not opportunistically attempting to improve your fortunes in the States by any means. I do hope that wiser members will correct me if I am wrong, and I know you two want to be together very soon, but I would prepare yourselves for a much longer than average process :(

I understand this difficulty. I do not understand what you mean by ...proving the validity of our relationship.?

  11. I would start the process now. You won't need your actual passport till the interview which is 8-12 months away, and will have plenty of notice of that, so can request it back from the Irish authorities then if they still have it.

Ohhh. So it means we can start our process and I can wait for my actual passport when I go for interview. I think I can have it back that time. But one more question. Will the US embassy accept my case when I do not have any legal status in Ireland since I am asylum seeker and my case is still in process? Will they accept this case? I mean US embassy in Ireland.

    Thanks dear:)

  12. First thanks for spending ur time for me.... Well you are right. I may have to return to home country. I already have spoke to my solicitor and they are looking on this case.

Me and my fiance we both want to be together as soon as possible. :)

    Thanks again :)

Should we start process by next month or should I wait until I get some result In ireland?

  13. Yes - you are eligible for a K-1 - as long as both of you meet the requirements.

You may wish to wait to see what happens in Ireland prior to attempting the K-1 - you need to be "settled" somewhere (for interviews, etc...) - you will need your original passport at some point.

I have seen where they required the person to go back to the home country for the interview (however, your case is complicated by the asylum request).

I am not sure of the requirements for Ireland for asylum - asking back for your passport may stop the case for asylum. (and that may make you go back to your home country)

So is there any who can give me more quide line.
