Paul you could have always asked for an extension.I did! my Fiancess Father was Diagnosed with cancer and they were with him around the clock for over a mth and a half in the Hospital.and then when he came home, Major care and other Appts.we had to postpone our process.The Embassy granted us 4 mth extension.without it, our Journey would be over now....Tom

I called the embassy and emailed them and they were not very clear about an extension. It sounded like they were trying to say it would not be a problem but they were not very explicit in their wording. The way they replied could be subject to interpretation. They would not even talk to us about our particular case because we did not have the passport number yet. I think we are ok now.
