Got my oath ceremony letter today - next Friday, 18th September.

Hey

I recently (very recently - 8/31) had my n400 interview and was recommended for approval. The officer indicated there were two ceremonies coming up in September and then three in October and advised I would receive a letter to attend one.

Question - it seems like most people who have had the oath ceremony are perhaps not on VJ anymore but how long until I should expect my online status to update to show that I am in line for a ceremony or am i more likely to just receive a letter at some point? Our mail delivery is spotty at best so It is nice to know to be on the lookout for something.

Another couple of things I remembered. I went with a lot of supporting documents (original transcripts, bank statements, mortgage statements etc) from the last 3 years or marriage and they did not need to see any of it.

What is consensus here on when I should be placed in line for an Oath ceremony? Should I get an update a few days from now?

I was recommended for approval this morning also.

Got to the office around 20 minutes before my time and was taken back to the interview room right on schedule and I was out of the office within 45 minutes total time.

The interviewer started by going through the form and asking me if various items were still correct and then went over the yes/no questions at the end before asking me to sign the form.

During that she also asked a few random questions including: what is your wife's DOB, why are you applying for citizenship, what will you do if you are approved? etc

She then went onto the reading and writing. I was asked to read "What do we pay to the Government?" and write "We pay taxes"

Then onto the civics questions:

What State borders Canada?

What ocean is to the East?

When was the Constitution written?

How many Senators are there?

What is the freedom of religion?

and one more I cannot remember...

All in all, very easy going. I was told there are two oath ceremonies in September and 3 in October and that I would receive a letter advising what one to attend.

I entered the US for the first time after my 26th birthday as a result did not register for SS. Do I need to do anything in particular before my N400 interview, or is it proof enough that I entered after my 26th birthday that I didn't need to?

Received my NOA today. dated 3/14.

We sent out package on the 12th and out check was cashed on the 17th. We have not gotten our NOA though. Is this strange?? It seems like it when we compare our dates to some of the other couples.

The address they use is the one on the petition, correct? We moved since I received the conditional residency card, but our current address is what's on the petition.

My package was received on 3/14. My check still has not been cashed nor have I received my NOA1.

Had my AOS interview this morning. Approved and received a stamp in my passport. Will post a review shortly - but was in and out of the interview room in under 10 minutes.

Yep, got my AP & EAD both approved today, exactly 7 days after my bio-metrics!

I don't really know the answer but I can give you an experience. I added my husband to several credit cards a few years ago. Not long ago he checked the free credit report thing and found a long history for Continental Mastercard, Macy's, etc. in his name all showing paid on time. He didn't check the credit score because you have to pay for that. I guess if the cards get paid off on time, then it would help you and if she has bad credit, it would hinder you. My husband gets offers for credit cards constantly but has never applied.

Another experience that shows his history isn't that great just based on mine-- We were in Target to get an iPad. The guy suggested applying for a RedCard on the spot and getting $50 off the iPad (10%). Or maybe it was just 5%. I said you try it and see if you can get credit. So with just his name, address, and SSN he was approved for $500 limit. Then I decided I wanted a TV that was on sale. We couldn't use his 10% because the iPad maxed out his 5 minute old card. So I applied at the register and mine came back $3000 limit.

Thanks for your input. She has good credit, so I guess it wont hurt to get put on them.

If my wife adds me as a cardholder to a couple of her credit cards, does this help or hinder my credit here in the US?

I also came to USA on a k1 and now adjustign status, my timeline is below.

My medical is less than a year old and so I just inlcuded DS-3025 in my AOS packet and my interview has been scheduled.

I filed EAD/AP along with with AOS to the address specified.

I have not been told about case transfer etc, in fact my online status for my AOS is still in "Acceptance". Therefore I believe that my case is still at the National Benefits Centre.

My local office is Reno, NV.

I just got an email from USCIS - Alerting me to an interview on June 4th. Online status has changed to reflect this too.

It has raised two questions though:

1. With an interview being so close what are the chances of my EAD/AP being approved?

2. If an interview has been set, can I still get an RFE before the interview date?

where did u file? I filed in houston so i would assume my file would go to TSC
