Approved today!! WOOT!!
I got the text while walking through the mall and screamed out, got bizarrely dizzy then did a happy dance unlike any happy dance I've ever done. I'm guessing the people around me thought I was absolutely insane.
Leaving for vacation to go and visit on Saturday, I'm contemplating seeing if I can keep it a secret for the next two days so I can share the news in person! Embarrassingly I have absolutely NO IDEA what the next step is since I've been so into getting to this one so looks like I'm going to be spending a bit of time doing some more research.
A big thank you to those I've come this far with, who've put up with silly questions and have helped me pass the time so far.

Woot! Congrats!!!

APPROVED TODAY!! I'm going to see the fella on Saturday for a month so I'm keeping it a surprise until I get there face to face. (Okay, let's be fair ... I'm going to TRY and keep it a surprise!)
-
hehehe John, I wasn't counting you but only because I figure once you move to the RFE stage at least you know someone has seen your stuff and it's not just collecting dust somewhere in Vermont!
-
Sooooooooooooo... Any April fliers still waiting? Congrats to everybody who made it through to NVC or got thair NOA2's though! I feel like I might just be the only person left in April who hasn't gotten ours yet!

Welcome! Good luck on your journey!

Ami&Chigs - We're close on dates, so hopefully we'll all get some information soon! I don't update Igor's obsessively but I would be lying if I said I didn't check my status page at USCIS with an obsession that would make any OCD'er proud!
...Get up in the morning... check status.
...At work...check status.
...Get home...check status.
...Pass by the computer on the way to the kitchen?...check status.
I am also doing the same thing with the email address I gave them. It's silly but for whatever reason it makes the time go by better IMO.

I always figured the waiting would be easier as time got CLOSER to the five month mark but we're both starting to get very antsy about the whole thing. I think I would even take a RFE at this point because then at least I'd know someone was even looking at our case!
... Going to visit him in a couple weeks for almost a month though, so that's helping with the wait but I'd still like to know that the end of this step is at least in sight!
G'luck everyone who's waiting

Ours either!

Don't feel too bad, we're still waiting too. I'm going for a three week visit in August so Im not as jumpy as I could be but I would lovelovelove to have an answer in hand before I go. :/

Congrats to you!

I thought that I would start to get calmer as the time drew nearer, instead I'm by far more edgy then I was at this time last month.
I'm feeling like I'm 2 years old and want to throw myself on the floor and have a temper tantrum!
I can't complain too much though, I leave in three weeks to spend a month with the fella, so at least if it doesn't hurry up and get here, we still have time together. Seems like it's down to a drip again as the week is going on.

It's gotten awfully quiet in here! Are we the only pair left that hasn't gotten their NOA2?!
-
Yay! Congrats to you! That was quick!!

Congrats, mikefromga! If I remember correctly I believe a few people have said that the site isn't updated as well as it could/should be, so your application may still say under review when it's actually already approved. I think this is probably the case.

Congrats to ya'll!

Seeing as it's Monday I've checked the USCIS website ... oooohhhhhhhhhhhhh..... 456454681531894869 million times so far today.
VERMONT, Y NO APPROVE YET?
Somebody's got a case of the Monday's and IT'S ME!

I think that perhaps people come here to share their hurt about the wait because they have an expectation that others here will understand their frustrations where our friends and families don't (for the most part) understand the difficulties we're all going through.
I'm surprised at the amount of time someone here says "What is going on... why is it taking so long... I'm frustrated" and they're met with sharp tongues and rudeness or a bit of belittling because they haven't waited the amount of time others have deemed acceptable to complain. I complain all the time to my fiance about not being together yet. I knew the wait time going into this but I still get little frustrations out because he understands and feels the same way. So do we all here. I like reading the posts about people being frustrated because it reminds me that I'm not alone in how I'm feeling.
I agree with the above comments, it's not one of us over another - long waits or not - it should be more about supporting each other, not "My wound is bigger/more important than your wound." We're all hurting here while we're in the wait.

So does anyone have some summer vacation plans?
We go camping on Lake Winnipeg at the end of every summer with a bunch of his friends and I'm thinking if we get approved close to my time to leave I might wait to give him the news when we're by the campfire by the lake. I don't know if I could contain it though. Seems we've waited forever already and it's only been a couple months but I would lovelovelove to see his reaction in person when I tell him!

SouthCal - Good luck! Hopefully we'll hear something around the same time!
His real name is Geza and when he spells it out it's G-E-ZED-A - which just confuses people more. hehe.
John: We're in the same boat, he's got about 75 pounds on me. Love it though, certainly always feel safe when he's around!

Hahhaha .. I'll share! My fiance has a rather odd name that people have a heck of a time getting right, so when he's in The States and needs to make dinner reservations or taxi reservations or anything that requires we leave a name he makes it under the name of "Josh" except he didn't tell me that he did that until we were called up to the front for our dinner reservation one night and I thought he'd stolen someone else's spot in line. As soon as we sat down I told him I didn't think it was right he'd go up there and take another persons spot, which confused HIM. It took a bit of parsing out and he suddenly belly laughed and explained to me why he uses that name!
We're with ya on the opposite height thing, he's got a foot on me as I'm five-five and he's six-five!
Your I-129f was approved in 105 days from your NOA1 date.
