  1. Hey,

Guys just wanted to share the good news, my husband's visa was approved today! After spending 4 months and 5 days in agonizing AP! we finally received the good news today!

I want to thank everyone on VJ for giving me strength, hope and support and I want to tell everyone who is still under AP to never lose hope and to have faith because the bad times will end and the good will begin..just be patient and have faith.

    Thank you ALLAH!

  2. u dont knw what happend? seriously they takes that long? beside calling the dos? u dont have nothing else? im thinking if i go to bangladesh and asked them does it will help or something? man im so worried what i should do? btw did they asked ur husband abt any document? or did u called the DOS what they said to you? plz inform me and i let u know if something i get..

I know its frustrating, but before you fly off to Bangladesh try emailing the embassy at DhakaIV@state.gov or calling them to get in contact with citizen services at 0118802-8855500. And ask them about your husbands case. But be advised that they might get agitated if you contact them too many times...speaking from personal experience!

No they didn't ask my hubby for any documents however, they called him back the day after his interview to fill out the questionnaire.

The AP is mandatory for all men between the ages of 21-45 applying for visa in T-zone countries. And Bangladesh is one of the T-zone countries.

Don't worry have patience and stay positive for you and your husband, everything will be okay soon. If something starts it has an end!

    Take care.

  3. hi guys im new here. i wanted to know how long they wait when they get 221g blue slip. my husband he faced interview on oct 24th. they kept his passport. and they said they will give him a call when the AP finish. i call dka embassy they said i have to send them e-mails only. i send it to them they answered me back in a week they said once my AP finish they will call him..its been almost 2 months. i still dont know how long i have to wait. im so worried..plz advice me what i should do

    Hi there,

I'm in the same position as you. My husband had his interview in Dhaka U.S Embassy on Aug 15th so its been a little over 4 months. They kept his passport and gave him a blue 221g slip and told him they will notify him when the AP is finished! No one can tell you exactly how long you have to wait because it depends on individual case and the case load at the embassy...Contacting the embassy is pointless they won't give you a direct answer, but you can try calling the Department of State (DOS) to learn about your husband's case status call: (202) 663-1225 dial 1 then 0 to speak to a representative.

    Hope this helps!

  4. I called the DOS today to check the status of our case and the lady said we are still under AP but that I should call back next week on Friday.

I've never been give specific instructions to call back before. Is she blowing smoke, prolonging the trick part of trick or treat or does she actually know something that tells her we should have it by next week?

It's been over 3 months in AP now. My senator, Sherrod Brown, sent an inquiry on our behalf this week. Let's hope something happens soon...maybe my love can still get here by Christmas!

Same here they say the same thing to me as well..they usually say that so we know its okay to call and inquire and stay optimistic!

  5. Well i had my interview on 10/10/11 & they put my case into AP.

Did you check with DOS & ask about your husband case status ? It already 2 months for your husband waiting for AP . Is there any documents were missing with your side or what CO asked to your husband at last ?

May I ask what did they ask you at your interview? Are you missing any documents on your side? Did they make you sign the DS230?

    H: Answer

CO: How many siblings does she have?

    H: Answer

    H: Answer

CO: when did you get married?

CO: Very nice, can you tell me who is who?

H: Yes Sure..this is ...that is...

CO: Please sign here DS230 ....

    H: Signed!

CO: Okay please come back to pick up your passport after we conduct an AP on your case we will notify you of the correct time.

H: AP? are you not satisfied do you need more evidence, because I have more evidence if you need to see ie. phone records, emails, skype logs!

CO: No no that won't be necessary, I'm very satisfied! as far as I'm concerned you got your visa you shouldn't be too worried.

H: Are we missing anything in our paperwork?

    CO: No, everything is complete.

H: How long is the AP going to take?

CO: few days, few weeks, or few months..we will notify you.

    H: Thank you..Good Bye!

Yes, I check with DOS every week they say the same thing every week its pending at embassy and my husband will be notified after AP is complete. No, no documents were missing everything is complete on our end. At the end the CO collected my husband's passport and told him they will contact him when AP is finished to go pick up his passport!

  8. Usually, AP in Bangladesh is not that long. My father went through AP in US embassy Dhaka few years back and it took about a month. My freind had a long AP which took about 4 months. If you have completed 11 weeks in AP already chances are that it is almost over. have you tried contacting the embassy? You can also call the state dept visa office. I personally get more information from the embassy than State dept visa office.

Hopefully what said comes true. I contacted the embassy awhile ago and at the time they told me its still pending. And I call DOS weekly for any updates and it always stays the same still processing! So I guess we just have to wait and see.

  9. Yes, I am from bangladesh recently had my interview & they gave me 221(g) blue sheet & comments addtional proessing . The CO told me to call my number as soon as finalized my case. Also they return my passport.

Is this permanent refusal or what should I do rather then wait .

I dont konw how long they will need to complete this AP. Me & my wife completely worried about us & how we live together .

My wife live in USA & she filed a I-130 petition for me . If there is any idea on AP then please share with me .

Can you please add a timeline so we can get a more accurate understanding of how long the process take to complete.

  10. Hi, I'm so glad to see someone else on this form with the same situation as I am. Earlier I had posted a similar post but had no response.

My husband was put on AP after his interview @ Dhaka U.S Embassy on Aug 15th 2011. We are on our 11 week of waiting, at his interview the CO collected his passport and told him we are not missing anything in our paperwork however he has to be placed on AP and assured him not to worry and that they will contact him as soon as our case is complete..it might take days..weeks or months.

The frustrating thing is that they don't give any specific time limit and I haven't been able to connect with enough VJ members who are from Bangladesh and currently under AP to develop an estimate of sorts.

little background on me and our case. I'm a U.S citizen and I petitioned for my husband who is in Bangladesh.

Please continue to add your feed backs and experiences so we can support each other in this very depressing time in our lives :(

    Tr3sh4.

  11. Thank you tr3sh4 for your prompt answer. I'm thinking it takes quite long then for the interview...this is upsetting. Anyhow, another question for you. Can you tell me how long did it take to close the case with NVC from when you sent the AOS and IV DS-230?

    Thanks again!

Your Welcome! I sent in my AOS on May 20, 2011 and my IV DS230 on June 6,2011 and NVC completed my case on June 20,2011 so it took about 3 weeks from sending in my DS230 to having my case completed!

I had a delay sending my DS230 form because I didn't have the police clearance for my husband from Bangladesh. First he had to send it to me via DHL and then I sent in my entire DS230 packet.

So make sure you have your police clearance ready along with all necessary documents (copies and originals) to be sent in!

    Regards.

  12. Guys,

I have 2 Questions which might be best answered who are already done with this journey for IR1/CR1 for their wife/husband living in Bangladesh.

    A) Once the NVC approves the case, approximately how many days/weeks after do you get the interview date from the Bangladesh consulate?

    B) What is the usual time line from NVC Case approved till the interview date (weeks/months)for Bangladesh consulate?

Thank you all in advance and best of luck!

I can't give you a definite answer but I can share how long it took my case from NVC approval to interview to give you an idea. My case for my husband was completed by the NVC on June 20, 2011 and we were notified on June 27, 2011 via email about his interview date which was on Aug 15, 2011.

    Good Luck! :)

  13. Hey Guys,

I was hoping if any VJ members here are going through or previously went through Administrative Processing (221g), in Bangladesh Dhaka, U.S Embassy can share their experiences?

I know it varies from case to case but I wanted to have any idea of what's the average wait time, if the investigation is only occurring at the embassy level and the case is not being sent to U.S for name check!

I have read countless forum entries here about AP however I was unable to find any from Bangladesh Dhaka, U.S Embassy. If anyone was in the same situation as I am please share your experiences.

P.S here's a little background I am a U.S citizen, I filed an I-130 for my husband who is in Bangladesh. He had his visa interview on August 15, 2011 at Bangladesh Dhaka, U.S Embassy and was subsequently placed under Administrative Processing (Blue slip 221g). The embassy kept his passport after the interview and they also took his signature on the last part of the DS230 form.

    Thanks.

  14. Hi all,

Any guys in India (Chennai) had their Interview Between April 2011 to August 2011 and have got the blue color slip 221g Administrative processing and have got their passport with visa stamps if so please do update it. Since I find many Muslim guys are getting the blue color slip 221g Administrative processing. So guys who have got the passport with visa stamp please do update the following below question so that we can have an idea of how much time it takes.

    1) Interview date held :

    2) Passport received with visa stamps :

My Interview date is : August 02, 2011 and still under AP.....

Thanks a lot in advance and please do update so that we all can have a brief idea of how much it takes...

    Thanks you all

    Hey,

have a question for you, did the embassy keep your passport?

and make you sign the last part of DS230 form?

My husband had his interview on Aug 15, 2011 and is still under AP.

His interview took place in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

As far as I understand, guys from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are subjected to an AP due to the high rate of Visa fraud being committed in these countries. Muslim men from these countries are considered a double threat therefore their cases are looked at with more scrutiny. None of which is good news for us..all we can do is just wait!

  15. Hi,

I'm going through the same process, my husband was put on AP after his interview on Aug 15, 2011. He was given a blue slip and told it could take days, weeks or even months but not to worry as far as the CO was concerned everything looked good and he will have his visa in hand after the AP is completed! and also not to call the embassy that might delay his case further..

My question is what is DOS and can anyone give me their phone number so I can check the progress of my husband's case.

    thank you.

  16. Hey Guys,

I've heard and read countless experiences of husband sponsoring their wives here on VJ and the CO's seem to be very lenient on women beneficiaries, but is it the same for men beneficiaries as well? I guess my question is do they treat cases where wives sponsor husbands differently in the US embassies? Do they look at these cases with more scrutiny? I only ask because my husband is about to go for his interview in 2 days and this issue is bugging me.

I would love to hear some positive experiences from wives who successfully sponsored and brought over their foreign husbands. If any of these experiences are from Dhaka, Bangladesh US embassy that would be wonderful but all are welcome.

    Thank you in advance..
