no you dont have to bring police check to medical just your passport and your case number and vacination records if he has any, Yeh i got to see Mr Waks on his last day before holidays i was very lucky!
If they didnt say anthing at the bourder i wouldnt see a problem and i think you ticked no - thats what i would have done.
