  5. Hello, everyone! I just want to know most people experience with NCSC. Whenever I would call to check status on my case, I get different answers, I don't know who and what to believe.

I've been trying to find out status on my case since January but USCIS wouldn't allow me to make an SR because I was told it's still within normal processing time. So I called in February, no luck. By March, I was allowed to make SRs. I had two done in one day. One more a few days later, an expedite one. Another one, a day later, but it was my lawyer who put it in this time. I'm just confused because these are the two answers, I would get: file is at the National Records Center sleeping, file has to be pulled so it can be processed and the other; file is at NBC awaiting interview schedule because NYC Field Office is swamped.

My case is turning 8 months soon. Still no decision or appointment for interview. I have a groom and a wedding waiting for me in my country end of the month. When this application was filed in August, I was told I'd have a decision by December or January. I guess I'm just expressing my frustration here now but how much time do I have to wait? How long does it usually take to process a family based petition (F2B)?

Any input, insight, opinion would be appreciated. Thanks, guys!

  6. It is a very difficult and long and frustrating process. I feel your pain. We were unable to get expedition, and then my husband deployed right around the time my interview finally got scheduled, so now I am actually requesting that they delay issuing my visa so that I can stay in my home country until he comes back in a year or so, as he was hte only reason I was moving to the US in the first place. I don't want to go there and live alone!

Anyways, if you want my advice it would be to try and live in the moment and focus on what you DO have (love and health at least I hope). Focus on the end/eyes on the prize. You will be together forever... after this little speed bump.

Wishing you patience, peace, and luck!

  7. Lets be honest folks, how many others are throwing thier hands up almost in disgust at the situation? I mean raelly? Im heading towarrd 7 months now from the date of my NOA1. There were calls of patience way back when, but now its pretty much all a joke to me. I feel almost as if ive given up, or as if this process has taken the pleasure out of the whole point of all this. This is really bad on a relationship to say the least, and extremly cruel.

I hear you.. my application just turned seven months. I was only allowed to make an SR yesterday to see where my file is. I believe another 2 weeks for the SR to go through... quite an agony. I feel like most of my energy and thoughts are focused on this. Know what, we just have to stay positive that everything's going to turn out fine. I enjoy reading all the success stories here and I feel happy for everyone whose journey is over and I also say to myself, I'll be reading my own success story pretty soon. We will! Keep the faith :)

  8. Hi everyone......... :)

I'm sure you have seen this kind of post many times before but I guess I just need to vent my disappoint. We submitted packet 3 documents by fax on March 7th hoping for a interview sometime in April. We could have submitted starting the 3rd week of January, but I was locked into a teaching contract through the 3rd week of March. The reason we waited was because I want to go to Colombia to be with my fiance for the interview process. We were trying to time it out, and after viewing other timelines for the amount of time between submitting packet 3 and a interview date, I thought it would work out in our favor. Well.... I just checked the newly posted April interview dates on the US embassy website and did not see our case number. Needless to say we are very disappointed. I was poised and ready in my own mind that I would be going to Colombia sometime in April. Especially since my fiance's mother, who is getting married, was waiting to know our interview date so she could schedule her wedding while I was there. The only thing I can think of is that the embassy is busier now and we have to wait longer. Or our documents never arrived by fax, though we have fax confirmation receipts that says the transmission went through. I wrote the emabassy so maybe they will respond.

Ok...... I feel a little better.... Thanks for reading my post, and most of all thanks for all your past advice.

    Disaapointed in San Diego........

I feel you.. I'm kind of the same but not exactly. I filed my 485 back in August hoping that by March, I'd have my green card. As of now, no word on the interview or gc yet. Meanwhile, I have a groom and an April wedding waiting for me in Manila :( We're moving the wedding to May, hoping I'd get it next month. I'm staying positive and keeping the faith that everything will turn out fine, I'm longing to see my fiance though!

I wish us all the best of luck. I hope you hear from the pretty soon :)

  9. did u used the right address for ur AOS when u filed? or did u not move in different address while ur AOS is pending sometimes if u mailed ur papers and u moved ,definitely ur papers will stuck on their file unless u follow up after a month or 45days after sending without any notice receive from the USCIS as what we experienced on our I-129F husband was moved and he wont able to get the notice and USCIS told him to call back after 30 days it always says on their notice that when u moved inform for a change of address if this happens to u that could be the cause of ur delays. service request is somewhat u will tell as a receipt in absence of ur NOA1 this serves as ur receipt when u call back again to USCIS in order for them to locate ur case status. hope it helps sis

    Hello fellow Pinay,

Thanks for your comment. No, I didn't move and I'm certain I have the correct address on the applications because I got my EAD fine. My EAD and AOS were filed at the same time.

Sounds like it's more waiting then..................... =(

  10. Which name are you using--married or maiden? The reason I ask is that a little known problem just bit us in the #### as Roza decided to use her maiden name. All mail that has been sent to us with her name on it has been returned by the UPSP. Fortunately I mailed a card off for Women's Day from the postoffice with her name and address and my name and work address as the return address. About a week later the card shows up at work with an "unable to deliver return to sender" stuck to the envelope. I asked the clerk at the local post office why the letter was returned. "Is her name on the mail box?" was the question. So I guess that postal workers have the discretion to return mail if they believe the person does not reside at that address. This may even happen if you are using your married name. My suggestion would be to mail something to yourself and see what happens. Did you sign up for e-mail or text messaging updates on your account?

I received a service request number when I called to ask them to resend the notice as the address is correct. I was told to wait 30 days. My guess is that after the time they told you to wait is up, you call the customer service number and mention the service request number to see what is going on. Then you will probably get a second service request number and told to wait another 2 weeks or 30 days. If the time of your service request is exceed, I would get one of my congresscritters involved--which ever is more senior--and see they s/he can get an answer.

Good luck and I hope you hear something soon,

    Dave

Hi Dave. Appreciate your input. I'm not married yet. I've always used and been known for my maiden name. So far, I haven't had any post office problems re: mail delivery or redirection. I doubt that's the issue though. I'm afraid my file is sitting somewhere untouched, totally unnoticed. When I called to make an SR earlier, I was told my file is in MO where it was originally sent in August. If it's going to be transferred to my local office, it hasn't been transferred yet. I went to my local congressman's office today and was told to give it a week for their follow-up. Thank you! I just hope to hear or get something soon. My groom is waiting for me in my country :(

  11. I'm new to this forum. I must say that everything that I've read here so far have been quite informative hence helpful. Somehow, it makes me feel ok to know that I'm not alone in this long agony of waiting.

I filed my I485 back in August. I still have not received any notice for interview or decision on my case. Today, when I called USCIS, SR finally went through. I was given an SR no. and was told to give it two weeks until I hear from the office who has my case.

I just want to know what others have experienced when they made Service Request.

Thanks. Looking forward to reading your comments!

    Happy Friday, everyone!
