  1. We FINALLY received our visa today after 14 full weeks of AP hell.

One interesting thing my fiance noted is that the visa was actually approved on 10/21/11, it just took this long for them to print it, put in the passport and notify us. One would think that when I was yelling at the DOS employees every week, that they would have told me to relax, it was approved, it's just processing through the physical printing and what not. I guess not.

Congratulations! Finally, after all that long wait!

  2. Hi there,

I think it is better if an immigration expert will assist you in preparing for the papers  This way you won't get delayed and everything will go just fine.

  3. Hi All,

Petition was filed for both parents, Mom and Step Dad (IR5 Category). My mom passed her medical exam but my Step Dad for furher evaluation and will undergo this sputum exam.I know this will cause some delay, Does anybody here knows how long to wait for the result of this sputum exam?some says 3 days, others says 2 months. My stepdad's schedule for sputum test is on Apr 26, 27, and 28. One more question : Can my mom go ahead with the interview without my step Dad and if she passed her interview, can she go to the US without my step Dad yet coz my sister is giving birth and my mom needs to be there ASAP. Can my Step Dad follow to the US after he's done with his medical and interview? Or is it required that they must be together at the interview and also to be together during Port of Entry? Thank You So Much... Pls. I need some inputs.

I think the results for the sputum exam usually is available in 2-3 days maximum. You have to request a fast process to the hospital who has done the sputum examination.

  4. Hiya! - just received our NOA2 on March 28th but we have yet to receive a letter off NVC with our case number, me query is as the topic states; Can the beneficiary (me) call instead of the petitioner for the case number at NVC, and if a case number is allotted, call the DOS regarding the Packet 3/interview? Cheers!

Yes, you can always call the NVC but I tell you, you should be patient hearing the voice automated prompt. You might get lost and have to repeat all over again. Mind you the call rate is also double or higher than regular or local calls.
