We got documents not before filling the i-129f petition, but after I filled the petition. The question how long those documents are valid? And who will know how long they are valid?

I need to ask a question. My fiancée, who lives in the Ukraine, has two kids. One of them is under 16 years of age. In October 2010, we filed documents which her ex-husband signed to allow the children to leave the country. I paid $300 for those documents. Today she talked to her friend who is in the same situation. The friend told her that those documents are not valid anymore; they only valid for 3 months. I really do not want to have to re-file these documents. With processing times in Vermont now over 7 moths I do not know what to do now. Are those documents still valid? Who would have this information?
