So, I've emailed the embassy about 6 times...I can't get through on the phone, and my beloved DOS staff is now useless...our interview is July 1, we need to get the medical done (and can't without the appointment letter)...someone tell me what to do, please.
We are having the exact same problem. We have sent several e-mails to the embassy without a response. We recieved notice that they sent out packet 4 along with the appointmant letter on May 24th, we have still not recieved it. We also have to complete the medical and cannot do so until we get the letter. Our interview is on June 30th. I finally called the US State Department Visa Services, and the lady (who was very friendly) basically told me that is how the Jamaican mail works and that even if we dont recieve the letter we should still go to the interview, and then we will have to wait to obtain the medical approval which essentialy is just going to postpone everything. She told me there was no way to obtain a copy of the letter except from the embassy, but I have requested a copy be e-mailed three times now and haven't been able to get one. It is frusttrating because they supposidly mailed us our packet over three weeks ago. We have gotten mail from each other internationaly quicker than this. I am also upset about it because we have all the other paperwork ready to go. All we need is the medical. Feel like I am trapped. The only thing I can say is it is just a set back and try to keep a positive attitude. Seems like we are not going to get approved on the 30th no matter how prepared we have been on our end, all because the mail service couldn't get us a packet in less than 3 weeks. I am so sorry to hear that you are in the same predicament that we are. If I find out anything I will for sure let you know. In the mean time just plan on going to your interview and hope that your paqcket surfaces any day now, along with ours.

Hello,
Have a question about packet 3. We recieved notice on May 4th that the NVC was sending out case to the Embassy in Kingston. I believe that they need us to send DS-230 part 1 to them. Should we wait until we recieve packet 3 in the mail, or can we just go ahead and send it now. We have our Embassy case #. Anybody know what is the best thing?

So we are waiting for our NOA2 still and have about a month to wait at least. Then we have to add a few weeks for NVC and then some more time for Embassy to process. Then the Jamaican timeline for an interview is between 60 to 90 days. But we are pregnant and the baby is due in August. I cant stand the idea of having the baby without him, it is the first for both of us. Does anyone know if we would qualify for an Emergency Interview in order to try and insure his arrival before the baby's? This is what the US Emabassy in Jamaica's website says about emergency interview
The Embassy’s guidelines are very specific regarding what constitutes an emergency. These reasons are:
Serious illness or death of an immediate family member (immediate family members are the applicant’s mother, father, brother, sister, husband, wife, son, and/or daughter).
Emergency medical treatment. We will consider emergency requests for the patient and/or the immediate family member who is required to travel for support.
Short-notice business travel: Please provide a detailed description of the nature of your business in the United States, why it is necessary that you make the trip on an urgent timeframe, and an explanation of why you were unable to anticipate the travel and schedule a timely appointment.
Does being present at the birth of the baby qualify as immediate family member who is required to travel for support?
Feels that way to me!!! Anybody know anything about this?

We had our interview today and our visa was approved!!!! It is amazing to think that after so much waiting and worrying that we are almost there. Of coarse there is some more waiting for the actual visa to arrive back to him, but at least we are in the final proccess. I want to thank everybody who sent us well wishes and everybody who posted their stories to VJ. We recieved alot of helpful information from everyone sharing their question, answers and personal journeys. I would very much like to send out love to everybody still waiting. Your day too will soon come. The waiting is the worst, but in the end it is worth it. I will be writing a review soon. Best of luck to everyone!
