  1. I am making a guess, but washing should not affect finger prints too much unless it is right before the prints are taken. We got an invitation to try again also. Paula has very small fingers; she wears a size 3 1/2 ring. I think it is just that the system cannot handle anything that is outside the norm.

And, if anyone has any suggestions about how to be succesfully fingerprinted, please post them.

She didn't have this problem for AOS. But this time she did. The only thing we could think of was washing too much. The officer did use something to clean up her fingers but still there were rejected.

  2. We got my wife's finger prints in November. They were not quite good but the officer still took them even though the machine said rejected. We got a letter saying FBI failed to use her finger prints and we need to do it again. We got a baby last year so my wife dose a lot of washing. We decided that she will try to avoid washing with bare hands as much as possible. But we are still worried that what if the second time she still has the same problem. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  3. We received the notice letter with the case number. But when I tried to find info on the USCIS website for case status, I got this message,

"Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

Check was cashed on Nov. 6.

Should I wait for a longer time?

  4. We listed my US born children. They are my husband's stepchildren and we had supporting evidence that included them as well, such as them being beneficiaries on his life insurance and my(our) daughter being on his vision plan through his employment. We had no problems at all listing all our children. You simply state if they live with you or not and check NO for them applying with you. Also, US born children will have no A#, so that will be left blank as well.

    Thanks.

  5. I am 100% positive and am telling you with personal experience - I submitted wife's application with our child born here and only my wife's biometrics was scheduled and done.

Please note that the birth certificate of a child born in the marriage is a great evidence and if that is used and the child is not reflected in part 4, you may get a RFE seeking clarification.

Yes, during the old form this area caused confusion (in old form we are supposed to include only the child that is applying with parent) and hence USCIS had modified the form in this area.

Thank you very much for the clarification. We do have a child born in the US in our marriage but no other children. I am glad that I asked otherwise we would miss that. It would be better for USCIS to clarify that in the form instructions. Thanks again.

  6. Download the latest I-751 form and go to part 4 "Information about your children". Provision is made in the new form to include 5 children,

You need to include all children and answer the question "Is child living with you" and "Is child applying with you" with YES or NO, as applicable.

    I have the new form.

So if the child was born in the USA from the marriage and is a US citizen, we still need to list this child in the application but answer "No" for "Is child applying with you".

Because of the confusion before, the US born children got listed in the application and got the fingerprint request as well which should not be which caused a lot of trouble before.

Are you 100% positive that the US born children need to be listed in the application?

  7. AR-11 is online - nothing to print and send in. Online confirmation only - do a screenshot of it or print screen.

I-865 on the other hand needs to be completed, printed out, signed and sent it - that's for you as the AOS sponsor when changing your address. You'll get confirmation in the mail.

Last September, I mailed my I-865 to the right USCIS Service Center using certified mail and I received the return receipt from them. But I never received the confirmation in mail from them. What could have happened? It is about the time for us to file ROC and I plan to include the copy of I-865 and the return receipt to show them I have filed the address change. Is that good enough? Do I need to contact them to find out why they didn't mail me the confirmation?

  8. You have the return receipt to show that you sent in the form. As long as you sent it to the correct location based on the new address, you can prove that you complied with the law. The I-797C does indicate that they not only received the form, but processed it too. You could send in another form and see if it gets processed--I would not bother doing return receipt, I would put ordinary first class postage on it. As a USC there is not much they can do to you and I do not think there is a fine associated with not filing. In the instructions it does say to keep a completed copy of the submitted form and proof you submitted it. The USCIS will accept the USPS return receipt and the copy as proof you comply with this requirement.

So you are good to go.

    Dave

    Thanks.

  9. I did just because they sent us an AR-11 form and it was like an insult to me. They also included the returned envelop from the USPS with the old address and the reminder letter. I was actually surprised to receive the remnder lettter. So I sent in the confirmation page for the AR-11 and my I-797 for the I-865 change of address as well. Just to show them that we complied with their rules.

    Completely normal.

Thanks for the info. Did you get an I-797 for I-865? I didn't get any. They just returned the return receipt.

Also, did they send you the AR-11 after you filed I-751?

  10. There are many many many topics about this. Always good to do a search before posting.

The ROC reminder letter is sent to the address you filed AOS at. The address database for that is not updated so no, you don't need to do anything. Completely normal.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I didn't do the research. More questions, so USCIS DOES have our new address somewhere, right? Do we need to include the copies of address change confirmations when we file form I-751?

  11. We just received a reminder letter from USCIS for Removing Conditions on Residency. There is a problem on the address. They still mailed the letter to my wife with the old address. Last year, we did the AR-11 for my wife on-line and we have the confirmation page printed. I also did the I-865 form as the sponsor’s address change. I used certified mail and I have the return receipt. We don’t know why USCIS still has the old address for my wife. Do we need to do something to correct that? Thanks.
