  1. I am so happy to see USCIS already started approving April fillers. Congratulations to those who have received the card and good luck to those who are still waiting. I read the posts and want to express my thanks to Christi85. You already received your card but you still spent time to help people. Good energy and good luck will definitely circulate back to good people! Thank you, Christi85.

  2. Tax transcript is from IRS and it will be an official document in USCIS's eyes. You can either ask them to mail the transcript to you, or fax the transcript to you.

To get the transcripts from IRS, please call them at 800-829-1040

IRS actually has an option to order the transcript online. However, I tried but the website repeats that the information does not match. So the online option does not work for me. But you can try it:

    Good luck!

  3. Hi, I need travel out of the US soon. On March 31, I got an email/text notice that me AP was approved that day and they mailed my an "approval notice" on that day.

    I have two questions:

1 How long it takes from the notice to getting the actually AP?

2 Will they mail the actual travel document with the "approval notice" together? Or they will just mail a notice and then mail the actual documents later?

    Thank you in advance!

  4. Thank you very much for your reply, Harpa! Can I ask one more question? If there will be nothing sent to my husband, then on the notice sent to me, will there be my husband's name on it? Or just be my name, and indicate "xyz name and your spouse" need come to the interview.

    Thanks!

It's addressed the the immigrant, so should go to you. Good luck.

  5. Hi, thank you for the information. Though I am on work visa, I stil post the question here because my green card application is family-based. But follow your advice I will post it in another place.

    Thanks.

Ahh so this is in the wrong place. You need to post in the "Adjustment of Status from Student, Work" etc forum.. people there are filing the I-130 like you, people in this forum usually don't.

  6. Hi, my husband (US citizen) and I currently live in different places due to work reason but we are planning to move together soon. We filed 130 and 485 together in one envelop. So for 130, he used his address and for 485, I used my address.

I am wondering, when USCIS send us the interview notice, will they send the notice to me, or to my husband, or to both? Since he is traveling a lot and I am afraid we may not get the notice.

    Thank you in advance!

  7. Thank you for sharing. The post is very helpful. Vero and Chris, may you be happy forever!

    Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd post a review of our recent interview in Norflok, Va. for those of you who might have to go through this office for your green card!

From reading reviews of the office, you can notice that several people did not hear the magic "you are approved" but were told instead that they would hear from USCIS soon. I guess some office or IO are different in regards to how they deal with petitioners! Anyways, here's how it went.

We arrived an hour before our appointment. The office was busier than I thought it would be. We first went through a small security check point, had to leave all electronics in the car. Then we went and sat down to wait. We were called at around 9:15 (our appointment was at 9:00). The blond lady that interviewed us was not overly friendly, but very nice. We were told to stand, she swore us in, and then she asked me the questions on the forms (terrorists, prostitute, etc...) This was the only time in the whole interview that her gaze was definitely fixed on me and you could tell she was being the professional that she is! She then confirmed some information with me and Chris (birthday, place of birth, work, adress). She asked to see our evidence next, she looked at it very briefly (bank statements from our joint account, tax transcript from 2010 showing we had file jointly, a letter from the 401K stating me as the beneficiary, a letter from the vet showing we both owned our dog, cards we received with both our names on it, our reception invitation). I gave her a scrapbook of pictures from the time we started dating up to now, maybe 25 photos total. She could not have looked at them quicker! She asked us how we met while looking at the picture, she laughed with us at some comments we made. And then she explained that in two years minus 90 days I would have to apply to remove the conditions of the green card. After that I thought I would hear the "you are approved", but she said that she had seen everything she needed to see and that we would hear from her if she needed further information or anything. We were out by 9:30am.

When we got home soon before noon, I checked my e-mails, and there it was! An e-mail from USCIS that the card production had been ordered. Overall it went very well, I was very nervous but I am happy with the results (obviously). I thought I this interview was a little more stressful than the K-1, maybe because we did not get a definite answer when we were done.

Hope this helps! I'm very glad it's all over for the next two years for us! And good luck to anyone going through the Norfolk office!
