Is it common to get rejected at immigrant visa interviews (I am particularly interested in situations where a USC files for a parent/parents). If anyone has heard of those rejections, what were the reasons?

Is there a way to get health insurance for new greencard-holders (parents of USC) in the US? Do employer family policies apply to parents (as opposed to spouses and kids)? Or would I need to buy a separate policy of some way for my parent (60 yrs old)? How expensive are those? Thanks in advance!

What kind of immigration visa (spouse, fiance, sibling etc...)?
The interview would be for a Parent of a US Citizen. I am just trying to get a sense for what happens at those interviews, and whether they often/ever reject people at that stage (given completed approval by the NVC).

We are scheduled for an Immigrant Visa Interview in Moscow. What should we expect for the interview in terms of questions asked? How long does the interview last?

I called NVC today. They told me that they schedule interviews between the 15th and 20th of each month for the completed cases on a first completed - first scheduled basis. In other words, NVC does not know when I will get an email with the interview date. Maybe this week, maybe next month.
So all I can really do now is to wait and hope.
I will call NVC next Monday, 3/21. Maybe there will be good news... My parents would need to go to Warsaw, Poland for their interview because the US Embassy is closed and actually never issued immigrant visas in Belarus.
I also called the NVC a few days ago and they said they schedule during the 2nd week of every month. In my case, they are waiting for the US Embassy in Moscow to give an interview date. April was booked up so I am hoping for May.

2 months.
Thanks, Oksana81. Do you mean 2 months from the time the last batch of documents was submitted to NVC? Thanks again!

Are you a US Citizen or LPR ? When did you submit the file the last batch of docs?
I am a US citizen. The last batch of documents (Immigrant Visa Application for my Mom, with all of her supporting documents) was submitted to the NVC in very early February. I am just trying to get sense how much longer to wait for the interview in Moscow.

Hi folks --
I filed an immigrant visa petition for my Mom about half a year ago (from the US). After the NVC approved the petition, I submitted the final batch of immigrant visa application documents to NVC - and was told to wait until they notify me of my Mom's interview date at the US Embassy in Moscow. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes till the interview? E.g., should I expect it in 2 months? 6 months? 2 years?
Thanks in advance!

I am in a similar boat. Could you please tell me how long it took them to provide you with an interview appointment in Moscow after you mailed the last batch if immigrant visa application documents to NVC? Thank you!
DS-230 at Immigrant Visa Interview
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America

Which copy of DS-230 needs to be signed DURING the immigrant visa interview - the original that was mailed to the NVC (and then I assume forwarded to the appropriate Consulate abroad) or a copy that I need to bring? I assume it's the original - does the NVC forward those documents to the Consulate? (The reason I ask is that my copy is 2-per-page only so I hope they don't pick on that - I hope they have the original instead...)
