  1. Hey, I'm traveling to Sydney(Australia) tomorrow for my interview on the Tuesday and I was just wondering, should I be worried about the interview? I'm starting to get a little worried that they'll deny me. We haven't seen each other in 10 months now and I'll just die if they deny me so I was wondering what you felt and how you got through the interview and what the experience was like for you?

  2. I'm just sorting through stuff that I'm going to have to send to the Consulate in Sydney. I was just wondering what I have to send and what I have to take with me to my interview? Would I send them the pictures and the copy of my birth certificate and passport copies or would that stuff wait till the interview? Also how long would the time between sending it off and getting my interview in Australia?

Before people say read what they say in your packet 3, I have and it says different things. At 1 point it says only send forms then another it says get copies of your birth certificate and whatnot so I'm just a little confused. Thanks!

  3. Oh ok cool 1/2 for the petition cool. SO you need to have your medical and police report or have you had that done already? HHHmmmmm I agree she could have easily checked this and obviously not that excited to get you here . I hope this works out for you. You will pay for your visa at post office before interview stage.

Well I just got my package 3 today so went down to the local police station and got my fingerprints done and they'll send them to Brisbane and from there to the Sydney consulate. I'm calling the doctors in the morning to make an appointment to get it all check out, I'll also fill out all the forms tomorrow as well and then I've just got to wait for my medical. I'll go send the DS-230? I think that's what it's called as well tomorrow.

Working 2 jobs to get the money together for this. I hope it works out as well. I have to agree that she may not seem like she misses me but she tells me daily that she misses me and can't wait for me to get back she just sucks at doing anything. One of those people who's gotta be told a million times to do something before she does it. Oh well. :)

  4. Ok I don't mean to be rude but your fiancee let the packet 3 sit in her inbox for a month? A whole month wasted? Are you sure she wants you there after all this? Is just a question is all. SO if she has no income I take it you paid for the petition? or her parents helped out?

As she is going to need a co sponsor yes both fill in 134 affidavit of support. I wish you luck

Well she is absolutely sure it wasn't in her inbox when she checked, I don't know if I believe her but to her defense she hasn't had a computer for the last 2 months but could have easily accessed one. The annoying thing is that If I hadn't had the initiative to contact them I wouldn't have even known they'd sent it and there goes our whole process and she just keeps saying it's fine it'll work itself out. Grr! I guess one of us has to be the mature one :)

To answer your other question we paid half, half for the visa. She does have an income. She's just on minimum wage so doesn't make much.

  5. I had a similar issue.

My US fiancee (the petitioner) is currently unemployed with less than $1000 to her name.

So we had to get co-sponsors.

Both the Petitioner and the co-sponsor fills out I-134 forms, so not just the co-sponsor.

It's not an issue at all as long as the co-sponsor is of close relation to the petitioner and they meet the requirements and submit the required documents.

Co-sponsors are normally only an issue if the petitioner are in a position where they are not likely to be working, therefore be a public charge, they will assume they you will be also. So only if the petitioner has been on welfare for time will this be a problem.

If your US fiancee is a student and her parents are willing to sponsor and they meet the requirements, you will have no issue! Just make sure your fiancee fills in an I-134 as well as the co-sponsor.

    Good luck!

    Gray

    Congratulations on your visa approval!

  6. Okay so I just got an email back from the US consulate and to my absolute annoyance my packet 3 has been sitting in my fiancees emails since July 12 (Boy did she get an earful). Anyway when filling out the for a co-sponsor do her parents have to fill out the I-134?

  7. "During the visa interview, applicants will be required to present evidence to the Consular Officer that they will not become a public charge in the U.S. You may present evidence that you are able to financially support yourself or that your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is able to provide support. The Consular Officer may request that a Form I-134, Affidavit of Support be submitted by the U.S. citizen fiancé(e). "

  8. Now how big of a deal is the money? I've been having trouble finding work for 6 months so haven't had much money but recently found 2 jobs so I'm working both to get some money together but it's still not going to look good when I go for my interview and I plan on staying in Australia till I've got the money required to go over there.

I plan on telling them I have a car to sell.

When I get over to the US I'm pretty much going to be set up till I find a job, my Fiancees parents are extremely nice and own 2 houses and they're letting us have one till I can get on my feet over there and start making some money so the housing and food isn't a problem. What are the chances they'll reject me on this?

Also couldn't I just get someone I know to put some money into my account for me and then after they can take it out again? My only problem with that is it looks suspicious if I just get a load of money into my account. I'm pretty worried this might mess up my whole visa..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  9. This is what the form says.

The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate. The petitioner can also file for I-824, application for action on an approved application or petition, with this office to request that we notify another consulate of the petition of approval for visa processing purposes. THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA AND MAY NOT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA.

When the person this petition is for enters the U.S. based on this visa, he or she will be admitted for ninety (90) days in order to marry the petitioner, and based on that marriage file for adjustment to permanent resident status on form I-485. The form to apply for adjustment of status can be obtained at any local USCIS office or USCIS form center. Please attach a copy of this notice to the adjustment application when you file it.

If the petitioner and the fiance(e) do not marry within these 90 days, status will expire, and he or she will be in violation of the Immigration and Nationality act if he or she does not depart. An extension can not be granted. It is requested that the petitioner informs his or her local USCIS office if he or she determines that the marriage will not take place within the 90 day period. Please attach a copy of this notice to any correspondence about this case.

  10. hi...i just only want to correct..u know after receiving the NOA2 u will get a new number written on that notice..it says there beneficiary number..thats the new number u have to tell to NVC when u inquire about ur application and not the case number u were using everytime ur checking ur case status..maybe u need to check again ur NOA2..read it carefully..u will see there's the beneficiary number..that's what i know..becoz we were informed that we need to tell them that number when we inquire at NVC..

Ahh thank you very much... Like I said it's my fiancee that has the NOA2 so I haven't got a chance to look at it and let's say she isn't the best at letting me know about stuff or doing stuff :P I'll be sure to ask her what it is.

  11. My fiancee received the NOA2 about a month ago and was told to give NVC a call after about 2 weeks. I gave them a call after 2 weeks and checked my case number and it says they still haven't received it. I thought no big deal.

I then gave them a call today after a month and still says they don't have our case number. I know I got the case number right because I've checked and it says "Post Decision Activity" and under it it says "On June 23, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

So I was just wondering about other people, how long did it take for them to have your case number. Sorry if I'm asking a stupid question but you all know how you start to feel after a long time, we're up to 7 months now and I just want to get back there, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

  12. Hey me and my fiancee just got our NOA1 yesterday and when I went to check the status of it, it said my file did not exist. Now I know you're thinking that maybe it just hasn't gone through yet because it's been so soon but our NOA1 was actually sent out on March 2nd and got lost in the mail. So I was just wondering how long does it generally take before you can check your status? I have the receipt number and everything. it starts with EAC. Any help would be appriacted, :) I'm one of those people that has to know what's going on and considering i'm the one not in the US it can be pretty hard. Thanks.
