  1. I sure do feel the same way. I have been in the U.S. since 2005 and feel like I don't belong to Canada or here. I feel somehow like I betrayed who I am. I choose not to become an American citizen because I am who I am. I was born a Canadian I will always be a Canadian. I never thought I was a patriotic kind of person until I left Canada. Now I am in tears when I hear our anthem! I live in Arizona now, where using oven mitts to steer the car in the summer is a good idea! Lol

  2. KaiserD, your son is adorable....Thanks for the reply...you may have hit the nail on the head...maybe my fear is that i won't feel like i belong there anymore..i don't know if my sense of belonging anywhere will ever be the same...i have the feeling, that even though i love america and living in AZ, there will always be a longing for my own country..and the funny things is, before i moved here i never thought that i was that patriotic...have an amazing time on your trip...i am surte you will!! grandma is gonna love that baby!!!!!

  3. hi everyone, soon i will be going home for my son's wedding...the more i think about going it kinda makes me nervous...weird huh? my mom passed away and i haven't been back since...now it is going to seem strange to see my dad alone for the first time...i know people seem to think that it will be the same as when you left..but i also know things change..people move on and they get involved with new things and you lose touch..really i don't even quite know what i am trying to say..i guess it was like leaving a life and starting a new one, even though i loved the one i used to have as well as the one i have now..has anyone else had these feelings...even saything"these feelings" i say to myself what feelings!...geesh...do i sound a wee bit confused?? lol.. when you figure out what i am trying to say, please let me know...thanks!

you might get better responses outta the canadian regional - we don't get too many canadians in ot lately.

oh charles and nessa congrats!!!!! what a little doll he is!!!! awwwwwwwwww

  5. :)

wait what? son getting married? i thought you was in your 20's!

Charles!!! Hi there! I can always count on you for a reply of some kind, even though I am not around much. Yes, my baby (26) hehe...is getting married on Aug. 14th in Vancouver. He was here visiting last month for a few days...I hadn't seen him in 2 years because he was playing professional hockey in Germany. Now, this passport thingy seems like a mountain to me...I don't know why...after all I did get through the whole visa process and paperwork on my own....maybe it left me scarred...i have paperwork phobia...I am so worried i will not get it back on time and who I am going to use to verify who I am...

How are you and nessa doing...so nice to see ya again!!!

  6. Hi everyone! My son is getting married in Aug. and my Canadian passport expired 5 months ago. I know there is a quicker one that you can get now IF you have not changed your name and it is exactly the same as on your passport. However, my name has changed since I received my passport because I got married. Some of the requirements I do not have...like people I have known for the past 2 years. I have moved to Arizona in the last year and 1/2 and haven't known anyone that long. Also, I understand that you have to send original documents such as birth certificates etc. and that makes me more than a little nervous, considering we all know how things get lost in the mail etc. I am hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. It all looks like such a pain in the you know what. I am so excited about my son getting married though! Thanks for reading everyone. ps.s I can't wait to go to the wedding in Vancouver B.C.!!!!!! I haven't been home for 3 years!

  7. hi everyone, I haven't been arounf for a while but I always know I can depend on an answer about stuff here! My Canadian passport expired and I was wondering if anyone knows how to go about getting it renewed. Thanks in advance for the help. My son is getting married in B.C. in August. I was also wondering how long it could possible take to get it.

  8. This is nothin' but an outright feeble way of getting attention and a hello from fellow Canadians. I am having a miss home kinda day, even after 5 years of being in the U.S. Perhaps it is because of the Olympics happening in my old home town and I am not there. I miss Vancouver, however I am going back in Aug. My son is getting married. Anyway, hi everyone!! :star:

  9. ah i see....when i first moved to the U.S. i lived in desmoines iowa...i can usually find beauty wherever i go..i really had to dig to find it there lol...i live in Arizona now and really like it here....i call my friends at home in Canada when i know the weather is especially bad there to tell them it is 80 here...(snicker)..the summers are harsh though..specially when it gets to 115...yikes!!! my legs got so dry this summer i was afraid to rub them together in case i started a fire...

  10. I almost feel Canadian. I grew up watching Chez Helene, The Friendly Giant, The Beachcombers, CBC News, North of 60, Red Green, This Hour Has...........

  11. oh i am sorry...i would like to chat to anyone...i guess i should not have specified canadians...however, i do miss canada and love to hear someone say eh now and then..hehe..

I like Canadians. They speak English.

    uh huh lol

  12. hehe...even though i have been coming to visa journey off and on for the last 4 years or more i have't really gotten to know anyone...i see you are from ontario..i was born in bancroft...ever heard of it...i lived most of my life in B.C. but I now live in arizona...home of the terminal nice weather ...lol

  13. Charles!! tank da lawd...you always reply to my post...i was starting to feel so so so so ummmm so isolated..hehe...I always wonder why people don't chat live...i always have fun chatting and it's a good way to meet people and make new fiends...errr i mean friends...how's things in your part of the country...did you have a nice thanksgiving? I still got the fluzies so I had to cancel dinner yesterday but I am attempting to have it tomorrow. I am still off work too but should be able to return next week! yayyyyyyy

  14. Does anyone ever chat in the chat room? I would love to talk to some fellow Canadians. If ya like I can serve tea and cookies in there. (God bless dumputers, I can promise stuff and never have to do it. hehe) If ya feel like chatting let me know and I will meet ya there.

  16. Here I am sitting on my sofa with my laptop ( probably cooking my ovaries at the same time) hehe...feeling yuggy...I got the flu...it seems like every holiday I get the flu. Last year at this time I had it so bad (cough, hack, snort) scuse me...i was supposed to go to my sisters for thanksgiving dinner and couldn't go so she delivered it to us. This year it is my turn to make dinner and no one in their right mind is going to enter through these germ infested doors!! My hair looks like I stuck my finger in a light socket and I have the heat on even though it is going to be 78 degrees here today in Arizona! brrrrrrrrrr (sniff, cough, snort, honk) scuse me again. Ok I am done complaining, now give me a hug dammit...hehe...I guess I am just kinda lonely, missing Canada and my son and dad in B.C. OK, my pity party is over, thanks for stopping by!
