  1. Hello Everyone,

I need some help as soon as possible. I am a USC and I would like to bring my Niece (Sister's daughter) her in the US as my daughter. Long story short, When my little sister gave birth to her daughter the dad's did not take responsibility and denied being the father. On her birth certificate I am the dad.

So the birth certificate has my sister name as mom and mine as dad.

What are my options to bring her in the state? Does she get the auto citizenship being my "daughter" or do I need to file the I-30 for her?

    Please help,

    Thanks

  2. Well, I can only tell you that they do require original birth certificate for interview. You can contact her relative in her country to do a duplicated Birth Certificate at her local government office, they should have the record. Time is going out soon, so you better do it ASAP. Good luck.

PS: If you think you cannot make it on time, you should contact the office again and ask them to reschedule your appointment.

i already got her birth certificate, i was wondering if i needed to gather all the documentation again as for the first time or just take the original of BC with me ? and are we gone be interviewed again .... i just want to be sure.... on what to expect...

    thnx

  3. help.... plz

My wife and i been already through the interview process, but it seems that we didn't have the original of her birth certificate.

so we've been told by our officer that we will receive a letter asking us to bring the original of BC which we did and the appointment is for january 11 I'm a lil confused because in that letter is says : Do not stand in line, present this notice to the guard at the door..... then: bring with you this letter and original and copy of the following all bona fide of martial union correspondence prior marriage proof of joint asset ........ and in Bold underneath it say: ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATES

i just would like to know if anyone has already been through the same and what to expect another interview or just give the BC and thats it .....

    thank you,

so there nothing i should be worrying about?

You were told correctly. You're filing your taxes for 2010, if you were not married as of 31 Decemer 2010 then you cannot file as married.

so there is nothing i should be worrying about ?

  5. my wife and i got married in jannuary 2011 and while filling our taxes we filed separetely as single because we have been told that we could not file as married because we were not married in 2010. should have we do it as married (together) or it just does not matter? if we should what can we do ? we haven;t sent any paper yet.
