Hello,
An Italian friend of mine is here in the US on an E2 investor's visa since about 15 years and has now won in the DV2013 lottery. How does she have to proceed now with her AOS?
Does she first have to send the forms DS-230 and DSP-122 to the KCC (like the winners who go through the consular process) and indicate there that she wants to do AOS or does she have to apply directly for AOS?
Will she later need a police certificate from Italy or is this not necessary in this case?
Thanks for your help!

Below here is the text of the cover letter used for the (successful) AOS application of my wife. It lists pretty much every document that we submitted. Good Luck.

Hello,
My wife entered the U.S. with a K1 visa on June 24 and we now have (after marrying and filing for AOS) the interview on October 18. Both her I-94 and her driver license are expiring today (September 22). Do we have to do anything here? I'm especially concerned about the driver license.

It seems that for some timelines to change the number of visible rows can be changed (i. e. the K1 visa timeline) and for other timelines it cannot be changed (i. e. the AOS timeline).
Is it possible to give this option also to the AOS timeline?

You can change it to up to 50.. there is a field at the bottom.
That's what I remember, too. But now I cannot do it anymore. See enclosed screenshot. No possibility to change the number of visible entries, not in Firefox, Chrome, Safari.
Any idea what I can do to get this possibility back?

Hello,
We filed for my wife's AOS (along with AP and EAD) on July 13, 2011 and just got the interview appointment letter for October 18, 2011 (in Phoenix). This letter has quite a long list of items to bring to the interview and some of these I find confusing:
"A certified copy of your Marriage Document issued by the appropriate civil authority." - An original "Certified Abstract Of Marriage" from the Superior Court has been already submitted together with the AOS application. Do we now have to bring a second original "Certified Abstract Of Marriage" with us to the interview?
"Original and copy of each supporting document that you submitted with your application. Otherwise, we may keep your originals for our records." - Does that mean that we have to bring not only the originals of all copies that we submitted together with the AOS application (that is, of course, clear) but also a second set of copies?
"Supporting evidence of your relationship, such as copies of any documentation regarding joint assets or liabilities you and your spouse may have together." - It is clear that we bring everything about our relationship that we submitted already for the I-129F and the DS-156K applications (mainly many photos, many travel documents, many phone records) - plus photos from our marriage, plus a few photos from activities here since then. Besides that we have only a joint car insurance for both of our cars, joint credit cards (cards with the same number in her name and in my name; the account as such is in my name but I could probably change that into a joint account but would not know wether we would get statements in both our names before the interview), and joint Sam's Club cards (cards with the same number in here name and in my name).
Is that enough "evidence of relationship" or do we need more even though we are only married since a short time?
So far I was quite relaxed about the whole thing but now I get a little nervous. This may have to do with our story:
I am originally from Germany but now US citizen. I was never married before. My wife was married twice before and got divorced once in 1997 and once in 2007. Her second husband was here in the US with an R visa but they separated soon after arriving here in 2003. A couple of months after they split we started our relationship, visited each other at least three times a year since then here and in Germany, have many beautiful photos from us from all the years since 2003, and finally married in June 2011 after my wife (then still fiance) arrived here with a K1 visa. Getting the K1 visa was very easy, the interview at the consulate in Frankfurt took only 10 or 15 minutes and then the visa was approved. Now we live together in my house, have a good time and my wife will start to work as soon as she gets the EAD or the green card. Does that sound like a good and believable relationship, or do we have to do more here?
Would be great if I could get some input regarding both points - 1. what to bring to the interview, and 2. what you guys think we might have to expect for the interview. Thanks.

Why are there only 10 timelines at a time visible? Wasn't that different in the past, wasn't it possible to make 50 or even 100 entries visible at the same time?
10 entries give only very little overview. I think it would be great if people could choose how many entries they want to see. Can't that be changed?

Hello,
I'm trying to finish the AOS/EAD/AP forms for my wife who came here on a K1 visa and have for now two questions:
1) Is it correct that the total fee for AOS plus EAD plus AP is $1070 if all three forms get sent in together? If not, what is the total fee?
2) Should we send these three forms with just one cover letter and altogether two photos or should we send them (in one envelope) with three cover letters and separate photos for each form?
Thanks a lot!

DV2012 - Too late to apply?

Yes, the interview and the approval have to happen until end of September (= within the Fiscal Year 2012).
If this winner did not send his application (basically the forms DS-230 and DSP-122 and passport pictures) to the KCC yet he or she can still do it. I can only guess about the chances of success but my guess would be that it works out fine if he or she wastes no more time.
