Hi Everyone,
My husband has his interview next week and we are STILL working out moving his goods to the USA. He doesn't have much stuff, essentially a studio apartments worth of stuff, which would all fit in a small moving truck or trailer. We looked into companies like ABF upack etc, but many of them won't deliver to our home in San Antonio TX. So questions: 1. What companies are okay for moving trucks with drop off in the USA? 2. What forms would we need at the border? I know there is the 3299 for the unaccompanied goods, is there one for items that you bring with you?
I have heard from some people that it is just easier to deal with movers rather than the hassle of going through the border with all your stuff and a rental truck etc. Just looking for some imput and suggestions.
Thanks!

My husband and I have been approved through the NVC, now we are just waiting on the date for our interview in Montreal. Our lawyer called the NVC because we waited the "2-4" weeks to hear from them and they said "yes, everything is complete, but since there are a bunch of staffers taking vacation in August, there aren't that many visa interview slots available." I just wanted to know what others have experienced and what we're looking at as far as timeline. Are there any people given Sept dates? We were really hoping for Aug, but I'll just keep hoping.
Thanks!

It's the http://canada.usvisa-info.com website, however the online appointment system is for K1 visa interviews. It's my understanding that CR/IR1 visa applicants are still assigned interviews. Someone can correct me if that has changed but to my knowledge the dates on the CSC site are for K1s - other dates are reserved for CR/IR1s.
That's what it's looking like to me... I have been watching timelines and a bunch of people who got their applications completed by the NVC at the same time as us have appointments in August, I just haven't seen anyone in Sept yet, so I'm keeping hopes up that we hear soon...
thanks for the imput

I haven't actually rebooked, but I refresh to see when the next available date is all the time. Like multiple times when I'm sitting at my computer.
We're waiting for our interview date, what website were you using to see consulate interview dates? The visa center told us that since people were taking vacations at the consulate in August, that our interview wouldn't be til after that
I want to keep calling so we can start moving on with getting back together and moving our lives forward!! Congrats on your approval by the way!

Hi,
I am currently working on my taxes for 2010. My husband (Canadian) and I were married in September, but he's never lived here (we filed in November for I-130). SO I'm trying to figure out considering he has no taxable income do I file Married filing separate, Jointly or Single??? I already changed my name and SSN card.
How are other people working around that? Looking for any advice on this particular situation.

I'm an active duty officer in the US military and I had heard from a friend that he was going to wear his uniform to he and his wifes interview when they meet with the consulate. Our interview, when we get it, would most likely be in Montreal; so my question is could I wear my dress blues to the interview? Just curious.

One question that kind of branches off of this one, How do you know when you're visa arrives at the DHL drop-off Location? Ours is going to London, but we didn't know when to expect it, since its about an hours drive and my husband has to rent a car to get there. Is there a way of tracking it?
