  1. Hello VJs!!

I have a question, I'm sending my N-400 on 3 years rule... Should I send documents to proof my marriage like I did to remove te conditions on my GC (taxes, bank, cars, house together, pictures, etc) or just bring that on the day of the interview??

Should I include as well tickets of trips that we did outside of USA, her birth certificate, marriage certificate?? I'm not sure what exactly to send with the application! The website does not give much information!!

    Thanks for any advice!!

    Happy holidays

  3. Hi VJs, My filling window was last week (12/10) but I decided to send just next month when we came back from Brazil (we will spent the New Year's with my family and My wife will do a study abroad for 2 weeks as well). But I want to have all the paper already to send when we get back, so I am planning to send all those documents:

    *Joint Tax Return since 2011

    *Copy of the green card
    both sides

*Contract of our wedding (we spent a serious money) and pictures

    *Joint credit cards

*Joint Checking account (the only concern that we are afraid is that we jointed just this year (sep/2014)

*2 cars that we bought together in 2011 and still own

*Our old renting contract that we rented for 2 Years before we bought our house

*Contract of the house that we bought last year

*My manager, 2 her co-workers (friends), my father and sister-in-law Sworn letters

*Ours drive licenses with the old and New Address / utility bills with her and my names

*We do have a lot of pictures in Brazil and Here (USA), But we will send pictures of my family here in USA for the wedding and family visit; and when her family and us visit my family in Brazil as well

*Her old passport that show all the times (about 5 or 6 times last 4years) that she visited me in Brazil (when I was waiting for K1 visa) and when we spent vacation together as well. New passport and new brazilian visa with her new last name (My Name).

If You think that we are missing more information or documents please just let me know so I can work On it. Thanks you so much and Happy Holidays.

  4. Hi everyone,

We have Couple questions and any advises will help a lot.

So, our window to send the I751 is next week on Dec/10th. But we are going to Pennsylvania to spend the Christmas with my wife's family and after that we are going to Brazil to spend the New Years with my family and my wife will be doing a study abroad for the first 2 weeks in Brazil as well.

My questions is: Should we send the papers next week but take the risk to miss the biometric appointment.?? OR... What we think is the best for us now: Wait when we get back so we can send the papers on time because my GC expired first week March... BUT.. I am a really afraid because I will enter in the USA 7 weeks before my GC expired... My wife will be there with me and She thinks will be fine because I am entering before expire my GC.. So.. Do you think I can have any problem with the imigration re-entering in USA??

Thank you so much for the help

  6. hI EVERYONE,

So.. I dont know where to start. I came to USA with K-1 visa in July/2011 and got marriage in Sep/2011, so before the 90 days. We filed the I-485 and I765 in Oct/2011... biometrics dec-30-2011 and got EAD in January.. really fast! Nice... BUT MY HUGE problem.... my case (green card) was transferred to CSC to "speed up" the processing!! REALLYYYYY??? Ok.. I can wait.. I have my whole life with my wonderfull wife to wait this.. Sh$#$#!! but now... my FIRST EAD was expired in Dec/2012 and since that Im not working and I have to wait maybe 3 or more months for the new EAD that I filed in Dec/2012.. to get worse my second EAD was transferred to CSC as well... So... Im totally fu*(*$$.. at least I got the AP last month so I can go out to USA to visit my family!! I didnt care about my green card... its been 16 months waiting... and after I read here at VJ that lot of people had you GC in 6 months or less... now Im starting be upset!! My wife and I went to the USCIS in Minnesota and the lady was really nice and she helped me asking To csc some news about my case.... So After 3 weeks I got letter from CSC saying: "..we recognize your interest in a final adjudication on your pending application and are aware of the difficulties caused by any delay in processing. The CSC is committed to processing this workload, and will be making every effort to adjudicate your case in an expeditious fashion as soon as available our resource constraints." Now I know I should sent the I-765 120 days before the firs EAD expire... my bad! I called the USCIS to ask about my case today and the girl told me that CSC is behind and they are processing the cases from Apr/2011... Really?? but I saw a lot of people that sent or transferred after apr/2011 and they have the GC already!! how can they explain that?? Sorry.. just one more quiestion.. My friend told me that is not safe travel just with the AP.. my wife should go with me.... is that true? And I got 2 letters.. should I take both or just one?? thanks so much... I appreciate any help!!

  7. Hoping someone can help give us some more information...

I (US Citizen) attended the K1 Visa interview with my fiance in Rio de Janeiro last week. Before the interview, when we were in another room having our papers checked by another officer, my fiance was given a form to read and sign. It was something about a requirement to go to the post office upon arrival in the United States and sign for the U.S. Military (applies until the K1 Visa holder is 26 years old).

My fiance read and signed the paper, but unfortunately I didn't have a chance to read the form before my fiance handed it back to the officer. Now my fiance is worried that he is required to enter the U.S. Military upon arrival in the United States, but I think he may have misunderstood the purpose of the form that he signed.

Does anyone know the purpose of that form? It seems ridiculous that K1 Visa holders up to 26 years old would be FORCED to join the U.S. Military. I'm thinking maybe this just means he must give his information to the military so that if they are recruiting new members, they could contact him. But I really don't think it makes sense that he would be forced to join.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, my fiance is just worried about this since he doesn't want to join the military. I wasn't able to find any information online or on visa journey, so I'd really appreciate if someone has some information.

    Thank you!

    Jackie

  8. Hello everyone!

Just checking if anyone has any information they can share...

My fiance and I are scheduled for our K1 visa interview next week on July 8th. This morning we received the following confirmation email from the embassy in Rio de Janeiro, stating that our interview is scheduled for the following week on July 12th. There was no mention of the date being changed. Can the embassy change the date of our interview with only a few days notice? We have already purchased our flights for the interview, and it will be expensive to change. Is there some way we can fight to keep our original interview date, July 8th?

Of course I want to ask the embassy these questions directly, but they only accept calls from 2-3pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday...and it will take them a day or so until they respond to my email. It doesn't help that the embassy will be closed on Monday for July 4th, and we are scheduled to fly to Rio de Janeiro on July 5th! We don't have a lot of time to make changes to our flight if necessary.

Has this happened to any of you? I appreciate any information or tips that you may have!!

  9. We got an RFE as well, on April 4th, and I was feeling the same way as you. Disappointed that we got an RFE, but also relieved to know they are working on our case. The reason for our RFE was that they needed more evidence that we have met in person within the past 2 years. In our original petition, we sent a letter detailing how we met and began our relationship, the timeline of our relationship, and also photos of us together where we wrote the date and location. The problem is, photos do not count as evidence because they do not have an electronic date stamped, and therefore they cannot guarantee that the photos were taken within 2 years. In response to the RFE, we sent copies of plane tickets from the two times I visited Brazil during the past year, and also tons of evidence that my fiance was living in the United States within the past 2 years (employment records, university records, drivers license, Visa paperwork)...and also copies of every page of both of our passports. In the passports, they could see the dated stamps from when I entered and left Brazil, and also my Brazilian tourist Visa.

I hope that this is everything they were needing! Good luck with your RFE...I hope everything goes smoothly!

  10. Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a little help from someone who might have a little more information that I do. My fiance and I are waiting to get the approval for our I-129F (Fiance Visa)petition. He is currently in Brazil and I am in the United States waiting for him to get back! We will probably have our approval within the next month, and then the interview will be scheduled 2-3 months later.

My question is: does anyone know if it's okay for me to leave my job in the United States and move to Brazil temporarily while we wait for the Visa? My address will change so I don't know if that will affect any of the paperwork, and I'm also worried about going to the interview with my fiance and telling them that I do not currently have a job or steady income. Has anyone done this before? Do you think this would somehow cause us to be rejected for the Visa?

Thanks so much...I appreciate any information that you can give us!!

    -Jackie
