I don't know, she got her passport with documents and said the time frame for an answer is between now and 6 months.

they didn't give her one. she said she was accepted by the embassy, then they called and told her they needed more time.

Hello all, I was just curious. My cousin applied for a visitor visa. She went to her interview and they approved her. Few days later, they called her and told her they are sending her passport without a visa and it was going to take few weeks to a month to get an answer. Has anyone experienced this?

Indeed, for a household of only 2 people with no income, you'll need assets of $56736. These assets have caveats attached to them also; hey must be able to be liquefied within 12 months, or so I remember? You'll have to check the website for the specifics on assets.

Oh ya im good on that. I just need to find proof of the real-estate holdings. Is that basically the deed to the house?

If you're adjusting status from a K1, and you used your visa to enter the US, it expired the day you used it. You should have gotten married within 90 days of entering the country and filed for AOS after that. Is that what you've done?

so i sent the i-485 and everything but have not heard a response yet and according to my visa or whatever, it expires feb 11. what do i do?/???!?!

Finaly my visa came!! I have it in my hand. Now I am just confused on one thing. Should I get one way ticket or two way? Because i am afraid one way will not sit right with immigration or something.

this sounds like they will issue the visa but wording seems vague. usually they ask for the passport when they are ready to send visa i hope that is what this means

I think its a normal thing for people in Amman. So hopefully it will go through fast.

Unfortunately, it also stands for Advance Parole which is when you are granted permission to leave the country and come back after arriving and marrying on a K1 which is a single use visa (maybe for other visas too). Advance Parole is tracked on the Immigration Timelines page of VJ, so I didn't want you to be confused if you saw it there and thought it was a guideline for Administrative Processing.
