@Yulisa,
Did your mom get her interview date yet?
Yes she did. It has been scheduled to next month. It was cancelled due to the election.
-
I Just spoke to nvc and they state her interview was set today. And they cant do anything about it. i guess now i have to sit and wonder!
-
My mom went for her interview today and the usa embassy in Ghana have been closed (My sister texted me stating some of the employees were crying). A rep said due to the election. They said an email have been sent to reschedule but i dont see anything in my email. Is this happening everywhere or just in Ghana. I know trump will come into office Janaury but how does this affect the interview today. Today have been a bad day for me and Hillary. I voted and I HOPE she will try harder next time. God bless America!
-
As I said earlier this embbasy is very scary. They will deney you for any stupid reason. Hang in there. you can refile and please dont waste your time on appeal.
Am really sorry for what you are going thru right now. take care.
-
It pass 30 days and over since my mom IR5 was completed. I have not heard from the us embassy in Ghana. I emailed them like a week ago and no reply. This embassy is a joke. I know am not the only person in this situation. If you have not had your interview yet and waiting for one, you can join this thread and state when your case was completed and how long you have been waiting for. or if you already had your interview how long did you have to wait for?
Any input from Ghanaians will be very much appreciated.
THANKS.

LOL. I meant not say anything but it really hot in here. We are all foreigners and we migrated from our country to join this wonderful home we call U.S.A.
Visa journey was meant TO help people like us. And to find answers that we don't have to pay for.
Please take it easy on here and respect what you say to one another.
Each and every case processing is different.
I STRONGLY BELIVE GHANA HAVE A HIGH RATE OF DENIED APPLICANTE.
IT REALLY A TOUGH EMBASSY TO GO THROUGH.
SO IF YOU HAVE YOUR VISA THEN THANK YOUR STARS.
peace out!

@A&OFOREVER
LOL four months just to get an interview letter or schedule Interview? oh my GOSH!
My mom will be super old by then lol.
-
A&OFOREVER HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO GET AN INTERVIEW FROM GHANA? IF ANYONE KNOWS ANSWER WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANKS
-
Thanks for opening up this page. Even though i have paid the aos fee my affidavit of support still says N/A. Which i cant feel it out. my iv still says processing. is anyone going thru this. or can someone help. thank you
-
Yes they can be confusing, the CEAC site helps cause the system only lets you do the things once they are ready. The IV fee will be $325, it will show up on the sites once its invoiced and the AOS fee shows as 'PAID'. After that you can do the DS260 and then send in the AOS and IV packages when you are ready.
For the DS260 NVC has an example from 2013 of what the questions are so you or your partner can gather all the data for that so its easier to fill out.
Am filliing for my mom. with all this police records and with all this records they will be asking, will it be from me or from my mom. I know at certain point have to send them my irs transcript and asset documentation. I have been doing background check with uscis since i came into this country, do i have to do background check again. and sorry for all this question. I should have gone for a lawyer. thank you very much for your help.

Hi Yulisa, if the CEAC site allows you to pay the fee you can pay it. Basically as you go through the AOS, IV fee's and DS260 each of those will get activated for you once the previous step has been completed. So no you probably won't get an email.
Thank you very much. this steps are so confusing, making a mistake is easy, how much is the iv fees? do you have an idea? The aos is $120, thank you
-
Okay I have a question. Am from the march fillers for 2016. My case was assign to a number and I chose myself as the agent. Should I go ahead and pay the fee for $120. Or I should sit and wait for nvc to contact me then I will pay? Am confused.

I am so bored already

Wow that's crazy fast! Congratulations! What service centre was it at, and what country did she file from? (I looked at your timeline and see it's not yours, so not sure where to find this info for myself). So exciting for you!! Did she request an expedite or just that USCIS worked in her favour?
Thank you. it was at the Texas service center. GHANA. yeah i just created a time line. so now you can find it underneath my msg. No i did not file for expedite it was all their normal process. LOL or maybe someone had a crush on my mom.hahahhahahahah. LOL I don't know what really happen in that office.it all God's work. I called my mom yesterday and she was really happy. she had applied just for a visiting visa some years ago twice and they wont give her.which was weird and i don't know why. so she had to wait for me to become US citizen. I don't want to keep my hopes too high cos this people can drag case for a very long time. I will see how the next step goes.
wow...what was your trick? lol
My receipt number hasn't been updated on the uscis website. Good luck to you!
lol i have no idea
. Goodluck and yours will come soon.

My case has still not updated on USCIS website...
Lol, we have a long way to go. I dont think it's time yet. it probably going to take three more months to hear any thing from them. we should sit tight. long way to go.
-
You wait for first NOA.. the case number prefix will tell where it was transferred to.
And you don't need a lawyer unless you have a complicated case. Use the guides here to help you.
Someone tried to convince me to get a lawyer too but from what I have read on this forum, some lawyers can mislead you. I'd rather make my own mistakes than to sit through someone's mistakes.
okay thank you.Making mistakes on this forms kinda sucks. but anyway I guess the waiting begins.
-
I received the NOA in the mail this monday, so what next
? I sent my application to chicago lock box. I have a feeling that this journey is going to be very confusing. I should have got my self a lawyer.
