  1. Thanks all. Car Insurance and Will are great ideas along with neighbors letters, everything else we have covered. Being "established", we have no loans or debt other than a small mortgage in my name only. I did have our Credit Union print out all of her debit charges, showing she is actively purchasing items in our area. I wish we could go directly to an interview, and get this over with. Her Drivers license will expire in two months, and without the new GC, cannot get new one. We will get all of this together, and send it out asap. Will keep everyone posted. Tks.

  2. Thanks everyone. We sent 3 yrs of tax info, bank statements, insurance info from my work, pictures with family, everything showed that both of our names on the paperwork. I'm sure there was other info sent, just cannot remember. We used a checklist we found here. As I mentioned above, the only thing that is in my name is the house which still has a small mortgage. We have been married for 4 year's this year (March 22). I'm not sure if this is relevant to this situation, but my wife lost her only son two years ago in a drowning accident while he was on Holiday in South Africa, and she traveled often back to China/Hong Kong during this time.

Maybe we underestimated what they needed, but feel we covered the list adequately. We are both 53 years old, and are maybe naïve regarding the process. The last two years have been difficult, as you can imagine, and having this "hiccup" doesn't help. Thanks for any help.

  3. I'm not sure if this is common, but our (wife's) application for ten year GC was basically denied, and they are asking for more information. We sent in ample evidence initially, and I'm not sure what more we can send. They feel like it may be a "fraudulent" marriage. Crazy, but any help is appreciated. BTW, the only thing that we are unable to show is that the house is only in my name, and I didn't think that was a big deal since my wife is retired, and doesn't have income, and it is almost paid off. Tks.

  4. Update: we received our new interview date of 12/29. 45+ days lost, but that's ok, it's just good to know the date now. I called every day as advised, and got the news today. We wanted to spend Christmas together, but we are in for forever, so just have to wait a little longer. I just hope the packet 4 is received this time, but regardless, we have the forms, and will be there on the 29th. Thanks for your help, and will keep you advised. Ya'll are great.

  5. yup, so keep emailing them about this.

include the address in chinese characters each time, for about 10 days.

check the DoS Hotline everyday until you hear 'Appointment Date Set'

Not sure about this DOS Hotline, is this a separate number? Anyway, no response to my email with the Chinese Characters, etc. yesterday. The previous two emails netted a response the next day, so on we go with the wait. I will send another one today. Wish us luck, and thanks for your suggestions. Tks. D.

  6. Hi All, I responded to the original mail, including the address (Same as original address), with the contact information, and explaining that we did not receive anything from them. And below is the response I received. I have now responded to this reply, with the Chinese characters, zip code, and contact phone. Hopefully this will resolve the matter. If not, I'll be sure to advise. One interesting note, my fiancee kept the "Tracking" number for the EMS form she filled out, and sent in with Packet-3, and it shows as never shipped, as she checked it every day. hmmmm. Tks. D.

    Thank you for your inquiry.

Please provide us with your beneficiary's correct mailing address in Chinese characters with zip code and contact phone number. We will reschedule an interview for the case in the next two months after we receive this information.

    Sincerely,

  7. Thanks for the support! The problem is though, there has been no change of address, my fiancee filled out the EMS address form and sent back with packet 3, and also requested notification with email. Somehow, non of this worked. We have been patient through this process, and continue to be. I called DOS (Thanks for the heads up on this), and they said we are scheduled for a re-scheduled interview. They also suggested that I send an email requesting that my email is added to the notification, which I did. That was all they said they could do (BTW, the address they gave me matched the correct address perfectly). Hopefully I will hear something back via email reply from GUZ soon, and this will be resolved. Our case is a simple one, and we just hoped to be together for Christmas. Thanks again, D.

  8. Hi All,

Sorry just have to vent a little. I sent an email to the GZ consulate on 11/11, checking on the status of our appointment (interview), as we had sent the Packet-3 in on 10/17, and had not heard anything. I will be traveling to China on Business in December, so I was hoping for us to return together, and wanted to find if that would be possible. Anyway, you can see the response I received below. My fiancee never received an EMS by mail, or a email stating it had been sent, etc. Has this ever happened to anyone here before? This is crazy, anyway, thanks for letting me vent! I have already responded to check our options, but with the holidays upon us, I'm sure this will drag on longer. We have already waited so long!!! Thanks.

    Thank you for your inquiry.

The applicant had an interview scheduled on November 9, 2011 at 12:30 pm. but failed to appear at the Consulate. If her address has changed, please provide us with the new mailing address in Chinese characters, postal code and contact phone number. We will reschedule the interview in the following two months after receiving this information.

    Sincerely,

  9. HI All, our Noa2 was approved on 8/10, and was sent from NVC to the consulate on 8/18. Since then, nothing. Should I be concerned? Is there any way to determine where it is? I have emailed, and they confirmed back that it left on 8/18, but that's all the info I can get from them. Any help is appreciated. Tks. Darryl

  11. Thanks everyone, I was having a "panic" attack there, and I just returned from the Post Office, so our Journey has started. I thought April Fools day would be a good day to start this process. I have been on the Candleforlove site, and have seen the horror stories (Although I have not seen the front loading forum you spoke of. I'm hoping we are somewhat safe in this process, both in late forties, both professionals, no money issues, no kids to consider, etc. Plus, unlike many here, we are fortunate to get to see each other quite often with my work. Actually had to "time" the submittal with her retirement, etc. (Didn't want the interview before the end of 2011). So thanks again, I'm sure this will not be the last question I have. Thanks. Darryl

  12. I didn't want to jump into the thread below, so thought I would start another one. I'm researching the I-134 form now, and although I have seen where forum members say to add three years of Federal Tax returns, w/W-2's, I see nowhere in the directions where this is necessary, or required. Is this based on experiences with certain cases in the past? Thanks.

(Will submit I-129 on April 1st)
