  1. Finally got my DHL Email! Talk about pushing it to the last minute, was going to have to cancel Matts flight here for our drive tomorrow AM.. but i got my waybill.. this is crazy, didnt know an email could make you this excited.

Also, DOS this morning told me my visa wasnt even necessarily printed, so everyone, ive conculded DOS doesnt know anything thats going on with our cases.. Just wait to the trusty email around 7PM :)

I was chatting with Matt on facebook about how it looked like he wasnt going to be flying here.. then all of a sudden i told him OMG i just got the email. He thought i was messin with him.. hehe

    Yay!!! Congrats!

  2. So frustrating, yet someone from our group on the 25th got there's last week. I'm really happy for eveyone who is getting them. But in really wanted Matt to fly in Thursday and drive with me. Looks like if it doesn't get here he is away for work for two weeks, and I've way over stayed my welcome living at my parent since February. So looks like I'll be towing the trailer. Watch out all the states that I'll be drivin through. Lol

Sorry to hear that. I thought for sure you would have a tracking number by today! I think our visa was shipped 3 days after it was issued (or approved?) so you should definitely hear soon. You would think they'd process everyone who interviewed on the same day at the same time.

  3. Congrats to everyone who has gotten their visas! So exciting :)

I just got off the phone with DOS again and I am so frustrated! Its been almost a month since I was approved at the interview and nothing is happening. The DOS lady said there are no problems that she can see with our case, and that no documents are needed or anything like that, but its just being slow to process. AHHHHHH!! I am so frustrated, i feel like I could just start crying right now.

That is so frustrating! At least they should be able to give you more information on why it is taking so long. If everything is normal they should have done it by now!! Keep us updated.

  4. Thanks! Yes I'm going to try that reference number tonight. I might log onto the CSC site but I'll check the DHL site first.

Did the DHL or CSC sites tell you anything last night? Ours didn't, but our visa was only issued on Monday, whereas they told you it would be shipped yesterday.

  5. Our interview was May 25th.

My fiance just called DOS. The first time, the person told him they didn't have any info and he should call DHL. I told him he can't call DHL without a waybill number. So then he called DOS back, and this time the person told us it was issued late Monday! Then the guy told him he would contact him with information on how to pick it up, which doesn't make any sense.

Well, at least they are issuing things now! Looks like they did a bunch at once. It is also weird the different info you get depending on which DOS person you talk to. Oh well, I'm happy :)

At least there is hope for those on the 25th. I would call the DOS.. more than once.

  7. Well what a surprise! The Consulate just responded to my email from last Thursday and says they are sending it out today via DHL to her local DHL office. So that would be 13 business since the interview and 8 business days since they printed it. Good luck!

Congrats Happy75 and SF2007! You both have been waiting so long, I'm glad you are finally getting the visas. SF2007, I hope there isn't much wait before they send it to you. Have you tried using the RefID on the CSC website on the DHL page, tracking by reference (not waybill)? Some people have said that works for them, and that it is updated faster on the DHL website than the CSC website.

  8. I know how you feel. Originally I was looking at when people from early May got their visa's and we wanted to book a flight for June 3. I wish we had some idea of when we would get things. It is kind of random how some people from may 11 or 13 haven't head anything yet, but some people from later have. Hopefully it won't be too much longer..

  9. ITS THE BEST FEELING EVER!

ps. Love your names, not only the J. and Ashley, but my brother's name is Jason too :)

Congrats Ashley&John and Jason and Ashley!!! This makes me hopeful that we'll hear something soon. I was starting to think they would never get around to it.

  10. Unfortunately there is absolutely no way to say when you will have your passport back.

Most are within 2 weeks but according to previous posts on VJ this week there seems to be a lot of cases completed mid-May by Montreal currently in Administrative Processing. Which leads me to believe they're backlogged.

You can call DOS to get an update now and then and try tracking your package with your Refence ID on DHL.ca but Montreal is not very fast on the database update

Thanks for the info! I was noticing that a lot of people who had their interview 1 or more weeks before us haven't received anything yet, so we decided not to book the flight. Hopefully Montreal will get going and send passports back soon! They have another 3 day weekend coming up so I'm sure that won't help..

  11. My fiance had his interview this afternoon and it was a success! They told him 1-2 weeks before he will receive the visa. We originally wanted to book his flight to the USA for June 3, but now are worried he won't have received the visa by then. Anyone with experience?

I'll post a review later on, but one thing to note :

His interview was at 1:45. He got there at about 12pm, and the guard turned him away saying it was too early and told him to come back at 1:45. He went back at 1:25 and at that point there was already a lineup of about 20 people. So - it seems like if you have an afternoon interview, you need to get there when they start the 2nd shift of lineups. I'm guessing it would start at around 12:45 or 1pm, but can't be sure.

  12. I sure will!! It turns out ViaRail now offers free internet... you guys, I am on a train! And also on the internet! I didn't think Via would ever get so generous.

Anyway! I'm going home Thursday afternoon so I will have a good block of time to let you know how it turned out. My biggest fear is that my Dutch police certificate hasn't been requested and is not in Montreal - NVC or the consulate must request it from the Amsterdam consulate, and though we've been after the consulate a few times (and NVC too) to make sure they're taking care of that, we haven't heard anything back. I had almost forgotten about it, to be honest, until my ride to the train station mentioned it... 24 hours to go!

    good luck!!

  13. You can hold on to the pictures. I know one of the forms says, "Please attach the following when submitting..." - birth certificate, divorce certificates, passport pictures, evidence of engagement (whatever that means) - but you don't have to submit any of that - just check off what you have in originals on the checklist, and send the forms and the checklist.

Get lots of passport pictures - you need 3 for the medical and 2 for the interview.

Thanks all! This was very helpful!

  14. Thanks for the quick response!

So you have to send the passport photos and bring additional passport photos to the interview? Or did you mean the evidence of relationship photos are what you bring to the interview?

We'll fill out and send back each of those forms and the online one.

    Thanks again!

  15. Hi Everyone,

I just found this forum and I think it is great!

The advice on sending Packet 3 forms before receiving it is very helpful.

Our packet 3 was sent on March 15, but based on your experiences, I don't expect we will receive it soon.

    One clarification :

Do we have to send all the DS forms and fill out the online one as part of our packet 3? Some people told us that all we will need to send back to get an interview is DS230 part 1, and the signed checklist.

We called DOS to ask, but they told us to just wait for the instructions in packet 3.

Were the instructions specific to send all the forms?

    Thanks a lot!

  16. Hi All,

I've been following this thread, agonizing over how much longer it will take for us October filers.

I just wanted to give you all hope, as I just received the email that our NOA2 was sent out today!

Our NOA1 was dated Oct 12, 2010 and we never had any touches. Now on to scheduling the interview..

Best of luck to everyone, I hope this means the October people are well on their way!
