  1. Hi everyone,

After 2-1/2 weeks, I finally have my job back. Now I don't have to find a job or looking for more assets to sponsor for my fiancee. Thank everyone for helping answer questions about I-134 before. Now I need your opinion regarding the annual salary. My annual salary is 50,000. But my tax transcripts for 2008 and 2009 are show my income is about 43k-45k due to reason for took couple trips back to Vietnam without paid. Should I put 50k or 43k-45k on the form? Also my company letter states 50k.

    Thank you,

  2. $60K in stocks and mutual fund. Yes, I can provide proofs for the assets and home equity.

I plan to have my former company to state the time I worked at the company, how much I made annually, and why I got laid off. I also have 3 years tax transcripts, and check stubs(last check stub in Feb 28). Would these help if i still don't have a job by the interview time?

In the meanwhile still search for job before package 4 arrive.

    thanks

    Thank you for your advices.

  3. Qualifying on assets alone is possible, but they prefer to see income. If they decide not to accept your affidavit of support as sufficient then they'll simply deny the visa. They don't put things on "hold".

When you declare assets then you must prove you own them, and prove their current value. To declare the equity in your home you'll need the deed, a recent appraisal from a licensed appraiser, and statements from any lien holders (e.g., mortgage lenders). I honestly don't know how a CO will view home equity when you don't have income. Normally, they'd assume you could cash out the equity with a HELOC loan, but I doubt you could get a HELOC without any current income.

What kind of assets are included in that $60K?

  4. Thanks everyone

I am applying for jobs everywhere and hopefully will get the job soon. I have about 60,000 in asset and 30% on 165,000 house, I think it will be enough to sponsor my fiancee but I want to find everything that i could put on the form to assure the case.

  5. Hi everyone,

Currently I am unemployed. On question 7 of the I134, should I put last year income or leave it blank on the first line? am I allow to use the unemployment benefit as an income for the first line?

Is my 401k consider an asset?

    Thank you,

and if need a co-sponser for K-1, what form do i need to use?

    thank you

  6. thank you everyone for your inputs. I received NOA2 Feb 14 and just call NVC today and found out that my file has sent to the embassy on the Feb 18. I start look for the job on the day i got laid off. as you know it hard to find job at this time. I will keep looking and hopefully I will have a job before the package 3 and 4.

  7. hello,

does anyone know if we need to obtain proof of single status for k-1 interview? if we do how do we get it?

I just got lay off yesterday, if I have 40,000 in asset would that be enough for k-1 visa?

    Thank you
