The original application form doesn't highlight traffic violations like speeding ticket but this one does. So just an FYI to all who plan to take Oath same day, take your lunch with you and eat there itself. Dont Drive   Small thing, but thought of mentioning it. 

And rest of you all waiting, you will get your number soon. Live your life every moment, and don't make it dependent on just one thing. Good things will anyways happen when the time comes!

Vegasbound could you please update my status? Interview and oath date was July 6, 2017.

Here are some details:

I arrived at the Seattle service centre about 20 minutes ahead of my scheduled interview (which was 8:45). They don't let you check in until 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

I then waited upstairs until about 9:15 and was called back into the labrynth of offices. The officer was really friendly. He had a few chit chat questions and then explained that he would go through my N400 answers, do the tests. I had to swear that i would tell the truth and then we got to it. Nothing had changed on my N-400 since I applied except for my travel to Canada, which I had updated. He asked for a copy of that, which I had with me. I told him that I had pretty much all of the other backup documentation with me (tax returns, IRS transcripts, original birth and marriage certificates, proof of residing with my husband etc etc etc, wow was I OVERprepared!!), and he said that he didn't need to see any of it.

The writing and reading were very simple. Then he asked the civics questions and stopped after 6 correct ones.

He congratulated me on being recommended for naturalization, and he gave me a form stating as such, on which I had to confirm that nothing had changed since my interview (more directed at people who don't take the oath the same day as the interview). He told me that I had missed the cutoff for the day's oath ceremony, but since I live a 2h drive away he had organized a private oath ceremony with his supervisor later in the morning so that I wouldn't have to drive back another day. I was with him for about 20 minutes.

I went back to the waiting room and about 5 minutes later he came back and said that he'd arranged for me to do the 10:30 oath ceremony with the rest of the people scheduled for that day. Yay!

Then they had all of us scheduled to do the oath line up, surrender our green cards and forms, and then gave us a seat assignment and a package with passport application and a copy of the pledge of allegiance and the national anthem on it.

We went into the auditorium downstairs, sat in our assigned seats, watched a few videos about immigrants (I got teary over these!), said the oath and walked across the stage to receive our citizenship certificate. What a cool thing to join 26 people from 14 countries at that ceremony, being officially welcomed to the USA.

I left there about 11:30, so was there for 3h total. The whole thing almost seemed anticlimactic after all of the work to get it done, and the waiting and stressing!

I had similar questions about proving my travel dates and had as much detail as I could get- but the officer didn't want to see any of it.

Question for other Canadians.

My interview is coming up! Woo hoo! I am gathering a large file of whatever documents I think might be asked for. I wonder if anyone has had experience with explaining dates for travel by land outside the US? We live quite close to the Canadian border and my family is all up there, so I have traveled numerous times by car and don't necessarily have "proof" of the dates.

Was anyone in a similar situation given a hard time for not having proof of the dates of travel?

(Hopefully I did this right) Updated for my interview letter, received today! Woo hoo! Now to study. Shouldn't be too hard as politics is pretty high on my interest list these days.

I had my biometrics appt January 13 in Seattle and my online status has just changed today (May 30) to say that a letter has been sent with the interview date. Whew.

(I filed in November and my biometrics appt was originally scheduled for Dec 21 but I had to reschedule.)

Nope, I am still waiting! My kiddo must have gotten at my computer to make that eloquent update. I think mine has been delayed because I wasn't able to make the original biometrics appointment date (Dec 21) and had to reschedule it for January 13. I checked the December 2016 filers thread and there were only 2 Seattle people on there- both still waiting for an interview.

Finally, some news! Just got an email from USCIS. No idea what it means yet, but at least they're looking at it!

This makes it 5 months and 22 days since NOA1.

"Your Case Status: Decision

On January 24, 2013, your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was approved. You will be notified of the decision by mail. Please check our website for further updates on your case, including when the approval notice is mailed. If you do not receive the approval notice within 30 days, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

i applied in late july through the california office and just got my approval on the 8th. haven;t heard from NVC yet but am so incredibly relieved and happy. 5 months was the waiting time USCIS gave me and it was just a couple weeks longer, so pretty close.

So happy to read your good news! Maybe there is hope for the rest of us after all.

We are in the same boat! Sent I130 July 31 2012, NOA August 2 2012 and NO news whatsoever. For whatever reason we can't submit an inquiry on the US CIS website even though we are outside the 5 months that was listed as the processing time when we first submitted.

Sigh... hang in there! Someone is bound to get good news any day now!

Hi all

Anyone else working through the California SC having delays? Our NOA1 was August 2, 2012. We have heard nothing yet (but are trying reaaaaaaallly hard to be patient). When I look on the US CIS at their processing times, California has now disappeared and we can only see the timelines for I-130s processed at Texas or Vermont.
