Ok, Hamilton was approved for him and his daughters visa! thats the good news!
However, can anyone address this question for me.
The lady that approved him said that his daughter must come with him and would not be allowed to follow within the year because she falls under the same 90 day status as him.
This is confusing to me because according to the government web site, children that are listed on his visa are allowed to follow within one year!
We had planned on having her come next summer.
Does anyone no any additional information on this???

OH MY GOSH IT IS HERE!!
Hamilton has his interview today and I feel so nervous I could throw up!
What if we forgot something? What if fumbles over his words? What if they dont want him to come? What if something goes wrong? Did we get all the paperwork right? (it goes on and on and on!)

It is my understanding that if the sponser meets income requirements no other information needs to be supplied. My parents are cosponsoring and their income meets the sponsorship requirement, so they did not fill in any other spots except for the

Hi All!
Hamilton just got packet 4 appointment letter in the mail today! His interview is for the 20th of August! I am sooo nervous! I have a question about the I-134 affidavit of support for those who have done the interview. Let me know if you think this is enough.

Hey everyone, its been a while since i have been on visa journey. A bit has happened since then. on June 3rd i called the embassy in barbados and they told me that they had mailed out packet 3 to us on June 1st. We didnt get packet 3 in the mail until almost 3 weeks later and the letter was dated June 7th! Go figure! I just hope our appointment letter makes it to Hamilton ok.
I moved back to the states from St. Lucia on June 29th, after living there for 3 years! Now I am in the same boat as the rest of you... Waiting for my love! :-(
Bless,
Ashley

Since you have your NVC case number and the embassy received it, maybe you can just follow the instructions on their website without receiving packet 3? I never received one cause they told me via email to follow the instructions on the Consulate website. The more important letter to receive is your Appointment letter (packet 4) since you need to take it to the Interview.
The Consulate in Barbados has apparently VERY detailed step-by-step instructions on their website, much more detailed and understandable than the Frankfurt one
http://barbados.usembassy.gov/iv-k_1_visas.html
Step 3: Complete and send in DS-230 Part I
Upon receiving the visa applicant's file from NVC, the Embassy will send him/her the fiancé(e) visa instructions. It is not possible to send instructions until the Immigrant Visa Unit receives the visa applicant's file from NVC.
And then below is the K1 visa document checklist. I doubt in the letter it'll say anything else than send in DS-230 and the checklist of what to docs and forms to gather and bring to the Interview. Maybe ask your embassy whether it is possible for you to do this without receiving the letter? I'm surprised they haven't offered that yet...
Thank you; this is a very good suggestion, one that I would like to do. However I cant seem to get ahold of the address to send the documents back to. I have asked the embassy and they told me just to be patient, that it should get here eventually... Also, do you know if it is required that you fill in the DS-156 electronically and print or can i print the document and fill it in by hand. (that is what we have done for all forms so far) but I feel like I read somewhere to fill in this particular form electronically! What do you know about this?
Thank you for your assistance,
Ashley

Okay, this wait for packet 3 is worse than the wait for the NOA2!!!!!!!!! i am pulling my hair out!

I am officially going CRAZY! My embassy says that they mailed us packet 3 on June 1st and that it should only take 2 days to reach us. We still HAVE NOT received this packet. Two days ago they said that they would resend the packet and when the post man came today, there was NOTHING!!! I am seriously, seriously on my last nerve with this process!
-
You're welcome.
All Packet 3 is...is a letter containing this link: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html
Go there. Download your forms, read the instructions. Comply
It's that simple.
Many suggest getting your shots done by your GP then bringing your shot records to the medical appointment. It is cheaper that way. But my fiance just opted to pay the medical folks for it. That was easier for him. To each their own!
Thank you! I assume the required documents to send back are the same for all the embassy, even ours in Barbados. Also, I heard somewhere that any shots taken in advance must be taken at least 6 weeks before your medicals. I dont know if that is true or not

Don't panic, give them a couple days to look at your petition and then send it out to you...consider that May 31st was a U.S. holiday (the Consulate in Germany was closed that day) and they don't work on weekends...so it's hasn't even been 6 days yet. What you could do is contact the embassy via email or phone (provide your NVC case number etc.), ask them if they have received your petition and whether they have sent out the Instruction letter yet.
In my case, NVC said they sent it out on May 20 but only on June 1st the Consulate said they had received it, even though DHL had delivered it almost a week prior. It just takes them a few days to get to the case, enter it in their system and send out the letters...I still haven't received a written letter but in the email they said I could just send the documents to them per the Instructions on their website without having received the Instruction letter yet.
Okay thank you. in our case the embassy DID sign for it on May 31st (It was May 30th in the states that was the Memorial Day, not the 31st - it is always the last Monday of May) AND still no packet 3 and we cant get through when we call! Arg! If we send what we think goes in packet 3 how do we know what address to send it to at the embassy?
-
Hi! December filer here, but a fellow UK filer, as well.
You should be calling the Department of State for updates on your case status once you know what your LND case number is from the NVC. They can tell you when the petition has left NVC for the consulate, whether or not the consulate has received / logged your case in their system. Or when they've sent out packet 3.
Once the Consulate has logged your case, you can send in the packet 3 forms. You do not have to wait until you receive them in the mail. Also, if your fiance has not received or does not have record of his shots, they can be done at the medical. It will not delay the visa.
good luck
Hi, thank you for this valuable information! I have a question though about sending packet 3 in before receiving the packet 3 from the embassy. does this mean that there is no special instructions for how to send this information back to them? How do you know what address to send it to, who, and what department to make it out to?
-
The embassy in barbados received the package from DHL on the 31st and we still have not received packet 3!!
What to do!????
Maybe it didn't get picked up until a couple days later...there is a shipment that went to London on June 3 and it was delivered at the London Consulate today. So that might be yours. As I see it, no packages went out on June 1st cause May 31st was a holiday...and June 2 there were slim to non packages as well. And a LOAD of shipments left on June 3...so they probably completed processing on your case on June 1 but it didn't go out that day...

Shipment delivered.

Did you have to sign for packet 3? Will it get to us if we provided only a PO Box not a physical address?

I got 6 shots in 1 day at my medical. It's different, best to go prepared. I had my vaccine card from when I was a child too, and showed it...
Can you tell us which shots the required you to get please
So...now women need the HPV vaccination again or what??
No, I am actually confused about this now because I inquired into this. They said that they go by the CDCs recommendations but HPV and Zooster is not required, but they are CDC recommendations.
-
However, are you sure they are going by the age range recommendations of the CDC because I am pretty sure Hep B will not be required of everyone.
-
SHOOT! ATTENTION!!!
I just heard that the CDC updated their shot recommendations for 2011. It can be found at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/recs/schedules/downloads/adult/mmwr-adult-schedule.pdf
I dont know if USCIS has made the changes on the age ranges to their manual for the physicians
-
The updated immunisation list (2011) is here: http://www.cdc.gov/v...lt-schedule.pdf Page 2 has the table.
The USCIS list is here: http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD
So you compare the USCIS list to the 2011 list above. The CDC (which USCIS uses) still recommends the HPV and zoster vaccine but USCIS doesn't REQUIRE it for immigration which is why it isn't on the USCIS list but is mentioned on the CDC table.
The actual CS instructions (including updates) are here: http://www.cdc.gov/i...l-surgeons.html this list here is updated. You can see it mentions the TB information, and seasonal flu information and that HIV has been removed. On the left you can see a table that has the list of CS documents/pages.
As opposed to the .pdf you linked from ***removed***, you should look here: http://www.cdc.gov/i...structions.html as the .pdf you linked is from 2009 and this link is updated regularly.
**Edit - I tried using -removed- back when I did my K1 and it was completely useless. It's made (or was back in 2009) for people from high fraud countries so there's lots of things they mention/ed that are not ACTUALLY required. So I steer clear of that site.
WOW, this is very helpful! there have been major changes including in Hep B and A age range requirements. I know that immigration uses CDC recommendations, but just like how HPV and zooster are not required, are you sure the age ranges all stay the same too?

10 - 64 need Tdap
under 18 needs polio
1 yr - 64 years needs MMR (sorry i was mistaken on this one, it is the rotovirus and polio i was thinking of)
under 1 year needs rotovirus
2 months - 6 years needs Hib
1 - 2 years needs Hep A
under 18 needs Hep B
girls 11 - 18 need menigococcal
1 year and up needs Vericella
2 months - 6 years need pneumococcal
6 months - 18 years and over 50s need seasonal flu shot

The following manual is the current guide that ALL U.S Immigration Panel Physicians use to determine which vaccines you need. Requirements are different for everyone, and depend on your age and gender! The list that you find online, through USCIS, and through your embassy is a list of ALL possible vaccines needed and does not specify gender and age.
You may not need everything on the list. For example, adults over a certain age do not need MMR (Mumps, Measels, and Rubella) as these are childhood illnesses.
Find the Manual at the following link. Check out page 12 for vaccination requirements.
-
Please everyone look at this Manual, especially the Vaccination requirements on page 12. They are according to age and gender. The needed vaccines are different for everyone!
DO NOT go and waste a lot of money by going to get ALL vaccines in advance that are on the list! You will waste money by getting shots that you do not need. Go to the following link to see what you need.
This is a manual and guide created by the CDC and U.S. Department of Health that ALL panel physicians follow!
-
I got my Tetanus and MMR done at my gp, they said also that my mmr wasnt necessary but they did it in the end.
I also booked my medical for June 30th, i could have had it on June 15th earliest but im flying out to Dallas for 2.5 weeks next sat so booked it for when i get back.
HAHA, my name is Ashley and I am from Dallas!
-
Kata had a doctor's appointment today to get some of his vaccinations, but they told him that they would not give him an 'unnecessary' MMR vaccine (he had the full doses of it as a child). We'll see how that plays out at the medical (if the medical insists on him getting another one or not).
they will not insist on him getting them because these are childhood vaccines that you do not give to adults, even if they have never had them. These are for conditions that children are suseptable to. You can read what vaccines you need according to gender and age in the US Immigration Panel Physicians Manual. Look on page 12 of the manual at the following link. http://www.***removed***/immigrant-visa/technical-instructions-panel-physicians-vaccination-requirements.pdf
This is the SAME manual that ALL pannel physicians have as a guide for performing immigration medical exams.

FRIENDs and CO-JANUARY FILERS, Yesterday, June 2, 2011, was my Visa interview at the Manila, Philippines US EMBASSY..
VISA APPROVED!!!
GOD IS SO GOOD FOR ALLOWING US TO BE TOGETHER! We are planning for me to leave by June 12 or 14
:)
Now waiting for the passport with visa...
I would like to thank everyone for the support, VisaJourney has been such an incredible help, and having these kind of threads make the wait and the anxiety of preparation and all the pressure included in this journey, a little more bearable
May God bless us all, and I hope the rest of us go through APPROVED too!
KEEP THE FAITH!
Hilario and Reina
WOW. Congratulations! Could you please post the questions that they asked you?
-
I have to attach them, it says so in the instructions of packet 4.. but then again, I have to take it directly to the interview. Every embassy is different indeed.
Question: Did you find a DS-156 that does not expire may 31? The Department of State site still shows me the old one.
I spoke with the DOS about the expired forms and they said that it is not a problem to use them, they will be honored
