Well, yeah, but technically this is a 3 month visa, so it's not "perm." They told us we could opt for either one and we went for the perm to avoid the carta de invitacion since we don't have any property there to loose or anything like that. But I know they can tell you one thing in one place and then something totally different elsewhere, or even at different times.

We went for the definitiva thinkin it would be faster, but it's takin a while, especially the part from vivienda. I'd advise you to check their website frequently to see when your visa is ready, it shouldn't take that long.

About the carta blanca, it's painful and you may want to see if you can get the process started asap.

We were told we had two options, salida definitiva or tenporary. For the latter you need a carta de invitacion. (tbc...)

We realized Monday was Labor Day so she went Tuesday instead and was in and out in a matter of minutes with her Passport-Visa and 'yellow envelope' already. We are starting the 'carta blanca' process now.

Hi! Nope, just lucky I guess. They just said 9/1 was available. Someone else from here called they following week and was able to change their appointment to an earlier date, 9/15 by then. I'd suggest you to try calling them perhaps once a month to see if they have anything better available.
