  1. Hey guys,

Well we went to the Atlanta AOS office today...

    GOT APPROVED WOOP WOOP!

We arrived at 11:50 am (interview at 1:30pm) so we went for a little walk just to 'look around' (for somewhere to pee really) and found its right smack bang in the middle of a business area with all offices and apartments.

So after wasting 30mins (good/bad depending on how you look at it) we went back to the Truck - the system for parking wasn't installed so we didn't have to pay anything.

Well we went into the building at 12:55 and went through the metal detectors (you can take your cell phones with you) we signed in and went up to the 5th floor via the elevator.. took a right (follow the signs) and the security guard asked for ID and appointment letter, he then said take a seat (there were pretty much non available - so try not to be too early encase there aren't any available, save standing time) we dropped off our Appointment letter in the tray and sat down. Waited for them to call our name, 1:28 and they called us in, we walked into the ladies cubicle and after establishing (with much bumping) which seats were ours we sat down, and then immediately had to stand to take the oath (we felt coooool!!).

Hubby was asked for passport/ead/drivers license, handed them over and then showed her the I-864's and were asked a few questions on them, she was REALLY REALLY nice, most of the people taking the interviews seemed to be!! it was weird :hehe:

She took our drivers licenses and passport and went and copied certain pages, came back and stamped my husbands passport and signed the temp I-551 she said that most people get it within 2 weeks but because she was taking away the ead she would put it in there just to 'cover all the bases'

    AND THAT WAS IT!!

we spent half the night taking the sample questions and making sure we didn't not know anything, we pretty much had to force the lady to look at our wedding pictures! She did say that was her favourite part!

She flicked through and said can i go copy this for the records and we were like SURE!

She then kicked us out and we went home.

All in all it was the easiest part of the whole immigration process!! BY FAR! the hardest part was making sure we had all the documents..

    A TIP!

she said the reason she didn't need much was because our original I-485 filing was extremely efficient and organized (meaning we had a butt load of extra ####### - just to make sure) so to make it easier on yourself later try and file your AOS with MORE than you think they need.

Best of luck to everyone!! not sure you need it at Atlanta anymore! which is awesome - LESS STRESS!

  2. Congrats everyone!

Crazy Brit don't worry - things with uscis don't seem to make sense in a first come first served way. I think you and my hubby (also from england) expect it that way (you guys and your "queues") :D seriously though don't worry until you hear, my hubby was an ex royal marine commando and had to wait for 6 hours at the interview whilst they did back up checks and interviews with him (he had extensive weapons training) and it took ours a long time to be approved (longer than most).

We sent our 485 off in august (married july 30th) and recieved our Interview yesterday April 6th at 1pm.
