  1. use winrar to compress the file.. ? maybe..

    Thank you~

I created a wiki last year about EP and online forms, and one of the sections was on scanning stuff. Read the first paragraph here about scanning since I talk about reducing the file size: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_for_Montreal_Beneficiaries_%E2%80%93_Electronic_Processing_and_New_Online_Forms#Scanning

    Thanks again,saylin:)

  2. Thank you so much,Saylin!! Appreciate all the information~

Alright, well, if you're enrolled in EP, then you are REQUIRED to send in your packages by email. If you want to snail mail the packages, then you'll have to send them an email opting out, wait for their response, and once your request has been approved, only then can you snail mail the packages. And by opting out, you're also going to add months on to your process once your case is complete as your case will have to be mailed to GUZ, spending a lot of time going through customs. Whereas EP, your case will be sent electronically to GUZ and you'll save months. So, the question comes down to, would you like to wait quite a few months or not? If you want to save as much time as possible, then scan everything and email it to NVC since you've enrolled in EP.

NVC doesn't have two separate AOS cover pages depending if you're doing EP or not. They just have ONE, thus whether you're doing EP or not, you're going to get the same template.

As for the member who mailed packages even though they enrolled in EP, then they did it wrong and most likely had problems. And a lot of waiting for an interview.

  3. Hi guys, i am about to send out the I-864 and DS-230 to NVC, mine is electronic process, should i still mail or scan them with all the support document? Thanks advance.

I asked this also because NVC emailed me a AOS cover page and asked me to mail to them...i am just confused..Also, i saw other member who enrolled electronic process, they mailed the I-864 package to NVC too. Please advice :help: Thank you

  4. Hi, good evening everyone. I am about to email the I-864 to the NVC now, ( i put off the process since my husband lost his job, he got a new one now).I got 2 questions here:

    (1) We plan to do the join support, me and my husband. So i need I-864 and I-864A, is this correct?

    (2) For the form DS230, the instruction page said that i need all the original document. But we are doing the eletric process, do i need to mail all my dad original civil documents or i can just scan the civil document? I am confused... :help:

Thank you so much for the answer.

  5. Thank you very much for your input! Do you think the interview officer would pay attention to last 3 years tax return or just currently year? Also, unemployment is income too, right? My husband is getting it now from July to DEC, he will get a new job from next JAN. Thanks

I definitely wouldn't cancel it, you've paid too much and waited so long to re-do it all over again later. NVC will keep your case for up to a year with no communication. So, if you or your husband can find a job within the next few months, then you can just submit the AOS package then.

For now, pay the IV fee and mail off the IV package and let that be reviewed.

  6. Hi guys, i am about the submit the I-864 , but my income missed the 125% poverty line, and my husband just got laid off from his job(but a new job will start on JAN 2012). He is getting unemployment income. If his unemployment count, we just pass the line. I feel like my dad will get deny at his interview... i can not find any other joint sponser. Our last 3 years tax return, 2 of them miss the line too, 2010 passed the line. What should i do? Should i just cancle it and wait till we get better?

  7. Hi, I am applying IR5 for my dad, he is currently visiting me in US now .Got some questions for the I-130 form as below, and any reply will be appreciated:

1, It asks for my “A number”, I am a citizen now, should I write down my previous A number?

2, It asks” If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a visa abroad at the American consular post in……”, I plan to apply IR5,not AOS, but does my dad eligible for AOS?

3, As for my birth certificate and my dad marriage certificate, can I mail the copy one instead of the original one?

    Thank you so much .

  8. sorry I didn't answer your question. just noticed. headbonk.gif

It will not affect the process. My mother got approve on IR5 on December 19, 2010 and when she got her SSN she petitioned for my brother on December 27, 2010. There will be no issue to submit the Application while the applicant is here. It's those people who feel they cant be apart that make their cases complex and run to VJ with issues that were controllable. Kudos to you for doing research. good.gif

Ricardo4eva2, thank you so much for all the suggestion, you have been very helpful !!!!!!!!

  9. Welcome to VisaJourney...

yes you can petition for your parents while they are visiting.. you can do it before your dad gets here. I'm glad that you are doing it the right way...!

Thanks a lot! I plan to file the IR5 for him after he get here due to the financial reason. I think the time they leave US, they can finish the rest of the IR5 process in home country. I just want to double make sure file IR5 while they are in US will not affect their IR5 process, right? Thanks again! p/s: i dont want to do the AOS since i saw some case got denied, it worry me.

  10. Hi,everyone. I am a new US citizen now through the marriage. My parents just got their B2 visa and coming to visit me in US next month. My question is : can i file the IR5 for my dad only while they are here? They will back to home country before the B2 expire and attent the IR5 interview at home country?

OR file the IR5 after they back to home country?

Anyone experience this? Thanks a million
