  1. I wouldnt worry as much as along as it is not something contagious. I think that is the one they are after as who would want to get transmitted by whatever kind of diseases right?

On the other topic, People who did my medical found this weird scar on my left hand. Like me, if you do have some weird scarrings they'll send you to a some sort of a counseling where they ask question. I would recommend if it doesnt bother you anymore and you dont have any scarrings or whatsoever, dont mention it. Personally, I think if they find a weird scar that may associate to being suicidal, they send you to this extra and final step to see when and what happen and if given an extraoridinary circumstance when you get here, would you be able to handle it. Its like psychological screening for me.

  2. Even if you convinced him that the I-864 liability is less than the potential divorce liability;

You would always have a CLOUD OVER THE MARRIAGE because he valued this liability above continuity of a critical relationship and

was utterly apathetic as regards your child.

Many states (like NY) will not even use I-864 recourse on the sponsor for medicaid (as an example).

    3 IDEAS:

    a. He thinks you'll run off and recourse public funds he'll be billed for. Any reason he might think that?

    b. He decided the love isn't there and sees this as his way out. Why add liability he thinks, when this can pressure her out.

    c. He wants to lock you in a closet out-of-status and pressure you into his bidding with fear of deportation and separation from your child.

Call him out on the A vs B vs C with a camera in the corner......... alas a door might open.

I am sorry that you are going through this. From what I have understood not unless I am missing out a part of the story, he is a total sc#m bag. I quoted asisflyer on this as I totally agree on the 3. I have been married to my man for 4 years now and believe my we have the craziest roller coaster ride but wow just I-864? I think that guy you married is getting ready for a divorce. I dont think that he doesnt understand what is a form I-864 or what does it bind him into. I dont think he is that dumb but its his way of saying "honey, look I dont think this thing between you and me still gonna work but I dont want to add more things to mind of if ever it didnt". Anyways, do you work? Do you have your own money? I know these are crazy things to ask but worst comes to worst who knows? He may even stop providing for you and your son. I have an 8 year old daughter who came here as K2 when she was 3. I tell you just like you, I get so defensive and over protective when it comes to her.

  3. You should be able to provide proofs that you can afford staying here in the US. One is to show them your current employment certificate stating your date of service and your salary. Also, if you have assets like land properties and car titles that is a plus too. Sometimes showing them money in the bank is not as effective especially if you suddenly had a big amount in there.. they would think you put it in there just to show. I think your certificate of employment as i said, the one containing years of your service with them and the salary most especially if it is above the poverty guideline of the US is a strong supporting doc.

  4. Hi. With regards to the visa fee, you can pay it over the counter in any Bank of the Philippine Island branch. Just let her have a photo copy of her passport so the teller would have her passport number right in their system and tell the teller its for a FIANCE visa. :) then remind your sweetie to keep the transaction receipt. She'll need it upon scheduling an appointment, if you do it via phone, the Representative will ask her the date and time of her payment, which is found in the transaction receipt. Goodluck to both of you

  5. Hi, i just want to clarify, is the engagement party a religious obligation? It sounds like its a big party and kinda expensive. My then Fiance, which is now my wonderful husband proposed to me in Bohol, one amazing sunrise while walking down the shore of a white beach were everything is so beautiful, he kneeled down and asked to be his forever. Just the two of us. No Engagement party, no banner, no big expenses. Point is that as long as you were able to met in person in 2 years, prove it through passport stamps and pictures. You dont have to worry as long as your relationship is legit.

  6. Hi Sis, I came in the US with my daughter. The idea is all the documents that you need are always x2 except the police clearance, certificate of no marriage and nbi but the rest will always be YOU and HIM.

    -passport

    -authenticated birth certificate

    -medical exam

    -DS forms

    -visa payments

MY daughter's BC has her father signed on the back, when i was preparing our requirements, I called DSWD so i can get a her travel clearance but they said since she is below, legally mom's custody. You can send me message if you need my help :) good luck on your journey.

  7. Hi, i can remember we are batch mates on our journey on our visas. We, Filipinas, have an OPTION to report our marriage to the Embassy of the Philippines. I actually asked this before here in VJ. But they say, if you are working on to be a US Citizen eventually, there's no point that. The CFO seminar we had in PI mentioned that for a reason that they have a copy of your marriage and thats it. Here in Hawaii, i checked through the internet how much, it is at least 25 or 30 $ to report a marriage and the official website didnt say anything on why to do it and what are the advantages. wasting 30 bucks for no reason i think. so for us, we didnt bother.

  8. I have few questions about my AOS package. We sent it July 22 on the day that my I-94 expires. Would it affect my AOS? And also, i am wondering why until now they havent sent me the NOA. In the AOS package, we sent a check amounting to 1070$ but hubby said USCIS cant en-cash the check yet because it wouldn't be enough until Aug 1st. So I am thinking is it the reason why they haven't sent us any notification yet? How long is the expected number of of days on receiving the NOA1? I am pretty worried already :(

  9. hi. people who answers phone in that office said it takes 4 hours for the system to acknowledge the payment. You have to look at your receipt what time was the transaction so you can tell them. If until now, not in the system yet..you have to make sure that your case has been in the USEM system first as simple as they cant record your payment as long as you're not in there yet.

  10. I am sorry to hear about your wife's medical result. She has to know what type she was diagnosed for. I believe there are may types of this disease but there are 2 classification very known. 1) TB active disease - you have the germs and its growing. 2) LATENT TB - you have the germs but its inactive, asymptomatic and can not be spread to people. MY daughter got her TB skin test positive with 11 mm size. Bad thing way in that clinic, they never told us of what she has. Kids dont undergo x-ray just the skin test. Since they found she got positive, they ask us for an xray to verify but still no words from them. They made us come back for like 3-4 times that week. Because of being blind of whats really happening, i did some readings and i think the one my daughter has is the latent because they still let us fly. With regards to the terms of medications, some says it depends on how your body react, some got treated for like 2 weeks or 2 months instead of 6 months having the active one. Some research says that Filipinos are usually get a positive TB Skin test because of the vaccine BCG, it is the short name for the "bacilli calmette-guerin" vaccine which is given to try to prevent TB disease. In the Philippines where TB is common, they want new born to receive that vaccine which is MAY alter the result of tb skin test.

  11. It looks to me like they were approved the k1 visa in april and a month later she came and they were married here. Now they are interested in filing the papers with her own country saying they got married. But the OP can answer that question.....and clarify

I strongly think you're right with what you meant. Filipinas are sent to what they call "CFO Seminar" in the Philippines before allowing us to leave the country. That training tells us what to do when you get in the airport, while on the plane and when you arrive in your destination, also what you cant bring with you and lastly, what to do in special cases that includes unfortunate circumstances like violence, divorce, etc. They also mention in that seminar that we need to report our marriage to the Philippine Consulate so that the Philippines is informed. Which in my opinion, is the Filipina's discretion. I tried researching about it but the Phil Consulate website here in Hawaii did not say anything about it. I guess its purpose is just so to inform them and us waste money..haha And yes, if you are planning to be an American Citizen eventually, its a waste of money and effort unless they tell us why but i think you have to if you want to have a dual citizenship.

  12. No need to wait at all.. DO NOT wait for the embassy letter. It is essentially useless.

Here is exactly what we did in the last few weeks:

After you have your MNL case number ( which you can get from the NVC by calling them - you can find the usa phone number by searching these pages vj)

With the mnl case number, the fiance in the phils can pay the BPI interview fee now at BPi branch. Then you use the filipinas passport number as the rceipt for payment and you can go online to schedule the interview - you will need all the relevant data passport info etc...

    http://cgifederal.force.com/

You must print out an appointment letter after you schedule online. Bring it to medical.

Then you can go ahead and do the medical at ST Lukes. Fill out the online registration ahead of time for the medical.

You can do your medical in advance of the interview - its ok they give you the passsport back after the medical.

Hope that helps... Also search for "after NOA2" it will help.

I do agree on this. I didnt wait for anything for this just gonna impede things. When my hubby received the NOA2 in his mailbox, did some readings and 3-4 days after i called the NVC and right then they gave me my MNL case number, the next day i went to pay my visa fee. You have to call NVC in their office hours, might want to check that out. Then after a week counting when they gave you your case number, you can start trying to schedule appointment, you can do it online so you dont have to wait in line for someone to pick up your call.

Just one thing i remember, after my medical, SLMCEC never return my passport back to me. The next time i saw it was when it was delivered with my visa stamped :D

  13. Hi Cloe, Cici here. Way back my time which was around 2-3 months ago, I didnt wait for any letter from USEM.

    1. I call them everyday and many times in a day. You need to be patient to call them and ask if they schedule you for an appointment. Or if you want you can check the website and schedule appointment online if you cant stand trying to call them and wait in line. (with mine, i actually was able to memorize all the buttons and numbers for whichever you need on that hotline). I remembered talking to one of the representatives that they dont actually dont see your file in their system, they just uses the same interface as we do when we do it online, its just that they record your call and your email for reference and do the scheduling for you if you dont have a pc to do it by yourself. If something went wrong, funny part is, they want you to make your own inquiry for your concerns, they'll give you the email add instead of them doing it for you. I was really so eager to have my appointment be scheduled as soon as possible because you can only get at least 2-3 weeks early, most of the schedules are 1 month waiting. I cant wait to be with my hubby so i did every thing to make the timeline short.

    2. Packet3, if i can remember, is just a letter informing you are eligible to schedule for an interview. and they'll give you a link to what to bring for you interview. I'll try to retrieve it for you. With mine, I told you, i didnt wait for this, somebody here in VJ gave me the link and i saw it, it is in pdf form. I am not sure if its DS 3025 you are referring but it is what the SLMCEC will give you after your medical examination.

    3. I cant remember if its DHL.. but i am sure 2GO are the ones who deliver the passport with visa stamp

    4. I finally receive my letter of eligibility few days before my interview date. (same goes with most of my batch mates here in VJ) good thing that I didnt wait for it before scheduling.

  14. I got here in the US with a K1 and K2 visa for my daughter. My husband I are just waiting for our marriage certificate so we can file for AOS for our visas are going to expire on 22nd of July already. We got married May 17, 2011 and the judge told us that we can request to expedite the copies of our certificate, pay like around not more than 10$ for each copy, give them 10 working days and we can have them. Following what we were told, we went at the Registry Office hoping we can have the certificates. The girl at the counter said, if we requested it via email, we need to wait a week after. We did wait and checked mailbox last week, nothing came. So i called their office and told that someone in the line what's happening. And i really couldnt believe it when she told me we need to wait for 6-8 weeks. I kept on telling her we paid and requested for expedite and that we need it badly for our immigration papers. She said, the only thing we can do to expedite is to request for a letter from an agency signed and date stamped telling we need it for our AOS. I told her, if you need something like it will be from USCIS and i dont think they do it for that purpose. I dont think she knows what she's doing. I told my husband to call that office and talk to somebody. We keep calling since Friday, if the line is not busy, no one's answering. Anyone from Honolulu? Or someone who has experienced this #######.-Sorry for the long intro. Thanks in advance, Cici.
