  1. you have couple options:

    #1 You can marry your gf in US and stay in US and apply for AOS - continue to maintain your F1 status all the time until you get AOS and EAD. Con - you will not be able to work in US until you get your EAD, I assume you already have your SSN since you on F1.

    #2 If you marry now and then go back to canada, you will not be able to comme back until you complete your CR1 process.

    #3 If you marry now and want to travel back to Canada or anywhere in world with her, you will not be able to enter US until you file for CR1 and complete it.

    You go either route I would say it would take you around 5-7 months.

    ok what about marrying applying for AOS, then getting an AP to go back into Canada?

  2. ok so this is probably on here somewhere but i fail to find it.

    heres the situation.

    I'm in the US on an F-1 student visa, I want to marry my girlfriend (us citizen).what I am wondering is would it be wiser to not file any paper work now get married go back to Canada (both of us)so i can work and pay my tuition. or get married , file AOS and attempt to stay here and begin the green card process

    essentially I need to know

    will going across the border with her cause issues if we are married and staying from june till august

    how long is the AOS process

    is there any other option for me to work in the US

    my f1 does not expire till 2014
