Happy New Year everyone!
Anyone here who had a recent experience in changing name during naturalization in SF? I read an old post that it's not that easy if you're doing it in SF, just SF alone.

Hello everyone.
I just received my biometrics schedule and I am wondering if I can request reschedule it for an earlier time, same day though. The facility is 2 hours away, one way from where I live and they scheduled me at 2pm. I would rather have like an 8am schedule, just like the one I had 2 years ago.

It doesn't matter whether the joint account is the primary account. Simply HAVING a joint account is what matters. Some people submitted joint account info with close to 0 balances.
If you want to keep the bills account separate that's fine and not a problem. A lot of people do it that way to make sure people don't accidentally spend bill money.
Good thing I read this. Although I still have months to go for my ROC, I am already checking out the requirements and the joint account is the thing that somehow worries me. My husband and I have a joint account that we use just for groceries and weekend expenses. Everything else come out of our individual accounts.

The best 'ties' for someone in your position is usually a steady job.
That actually holds true, unfortunately. Based on own experience, I was sure that my employment status was the only deciding factor for my application to be approved. The first thing the consul looked for in my application was my employer and asked me how long I have been with them. When she was satisfied with my response, the next question was how long I intended to stay and so on and so forth. No documents were even asked.

Hi! After 5 months of job hunting, I was finally able to get a full-time job within the area! I started training last week and I have been having a great time so far. It's in customer service for a healthcare provider, totally different from my field but hey, a job is still a job...

Same here. I've been looking for a full-time job since I received my EAD last March but no success until now. I was lucky enough to get a 9 hour a week job so I can at least have work reference and a company who has already run a background check on me (if it even helps). I have 15 years experience in financial industry where I am from and MIS degree but even JCPenney doesn't like me

As to the number of questions, as stated on the PDF,
WRITTEN EXAM
The written exam consists of 35 questions, 15 of which will address traffic sign identification and the
remaining 20 will either be multiple choice or true/false questions.
Just practice on those questions and you'll have your license in no time. Good luck!

I took the both the written and driving test in one day. just read the rules of the road, then all will be easy. i chose to go to a not so busy DMV office (hence the written exam, not a computerized one) so as to have a driving exam in a not so busy area and it helped.
you will have to wait until you have the IDs that fall under the 3 categories though. so while you are waiting for them, familiarize yourself with the road signs for now while you're driving (if you have your country's license that you can use).

I did my AOS from a B2 visa just like you and we did not encounter any problems during the interview. I submitted most of all the required documents stated on the forms except for the affidavits (which the IO did not ask anyway) with all the forms for the AOS. However, just like what Just Bob said, you don't have to send all the pictures. I did that as per suggestion of the lawyer we got but the IO did not even know they were in the file until she asked for the actual pictures from me (told her the pics I have with me are just the same I submitted, and she said... "Oh, you have pictures in your file?").
Don't worry too much for your interview. As long as you both are honest, nothing can go wrong. Good luck on your journey!

Of all the trips that I had going to the US, the ones with Asiana were indeed the best. The crew members are very polite and the food is great. And I agree that United Airlines needs a lot of improvement. The interior of the plane needed cleaning, the trolley was rusting, seats are uncomfortable and the FAs were as old as the plane itself.

I am taking contracts from odesk and elance and I can say that yes, they're legit but don't expect to get paid much. With contractors from SE or East Asia bidding for minimum of $1, no contract awarded to you if you ask for US minimum wage, unless you already have a portfolio.
I like to do it part-time just to keep me busy while I'm looking for a job. I just apply to those who are looking for a 10-20 hours a week contracts. It wouldn't hurt to try it, you will learn a lot from it too.

Hey, congrats! I know the feeling, I adjusted from B2 too.
Lady26, just be natural and if you've got nothing to hide nothing untoward will come out of it. Our interviewer was a nice lady who even made jokes with me and my husband. Although we waited for more than an hour for our turn, our interview was done in 20 minutes. Surprisingly, I didn't feel nervous at all even days before and until we were sitting in front of the IO. Can't say the same for my husband though. LOL.
