Thanks so much! Honestly, I was expecting an RFE since we sent Euro sized passport photos of her, but I guess they were good enough!
-
82 days later we have our petition approval! Great timing also, as I'll be returning to Moldova in three weeks! Now with any luck she'll be able to come back home with me!!

I just got the email!!! Petition APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did you get a figure of 2200 just curious ??
If they only received 2200 but avg 3000 a month
That's good news in my world. Even if Igors list is just a small. Sample correct. ????
http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=6&office=2&charttype=2
As of April CSC had:
9788 pending K1s
1383 awaiting customer response (RFE)
2789 completed K1s
2230 K1s
so yes, on average they are completing as many as they receive. however, they still have a backlog of nearly 10,000 to work through.

Igor's list is a nice gauge, but that's all it really is...a gauge. The CSC received over 2200 K1 petitions in April and I see less than 60 April filers on Igor's list. They average around 3000 completed petitions a month, but still..the volume is high.

My company told me that this website was the only way to get a verification letter from them. None of the HR people are allowed to write or sign anything, everything must be taken from this site. Kinda weird, but it's quick, easy and I can access it from anywhere which is really nice.
-
If the updates are still slow next week I might call. Simply because it looked like April filers should have been hearing news last week and being an early April filer it would be great to hear some news!

If the website says no translations are needed then why are you bothering? Each Embassy is different and if they don't need translations then they don't need them. Nothing will need to be translated for the POE either. The Embassy is Moldova is the same way. We were told they will accept any documents in English, Russian or Romanian. Translations will be needed for the Greencard process, but as you said that can be done in America.

Some members have said after talking to the USCIS they are having some issues with the website and notification system. Meaning, people are getting approved but they just don't know it yet. Supposedly if you call and ask to speak with a Tier 2 agent they will tell you your status.
-
It is possible but you must be open and honest that you are going through the K1 process. The most important thing is that he must show strong ties to his country or they will deny him entry. Family ties, job, rent or morgage...there needs to be enough proof that he will logically return to his country and not stay in the US once he enters with the Tourist Visa. It can be done, but it's very difficult sometimes.
-
Don't wait for the website..Call USCIS and ask to talk to Tier 2 agent directly...They'll give you the latest status of your application. My NOA1 was Feb 14th and website/phone still shows Initial Review but when I spoke to the Tier 2 agent yesterday, he informed that the petition was approved. I asked him why the website doesn't show and he mentioned that website/phone system isn't working well.
This makes a lot of sense actually. It sure seems like the approvals slowed down a lot last week. If there system isn't working correctly then the only sure way to know if you got your NOA2 is by mail, which of course takes the longest. Hopefully their system gets back on track soon.

My timeline date has jumped up nearly a week in the last two days even though we've seen barely any approvals. I don't know about that. And I'm really surprised we haven't seen any April approvals yet considering the high number of March approvals we have. It looks like maybe the CSC is taking a break from the K1s to take care of some other visa petitions for a few days.
-
When you create an account with the USCIS it will show you when your case was last "updated" which is called a "touch" around here. Usually it means nothing more than your file was moved from one place to another. Some people get many touches before their approval, some get none. It's really a none factor.
-
wow after looking at Igor's list today doesn't it seem like we should be seeing some April approvals any day now? I hope so, that would be great!

Another 4/7 NOA1 here.
-
Some cases take longer than others and with the volume in which they deal it just makes sense that there are a large sample of NOA1 dated petitions that are being processed at once. Are you suggesting they should wait until every last petition filed in December has a yes or no before they move onto January? The system is flawed, but they have to work with that they have. The most effect way of handling such a high volume of petitions is to work on large chunks at a time. Some are simple and fly through, others need further checks, others are missing information. Nothing is black or white here, it's all a grey area. Is that fair? Probably not, but again...they have to work within the system that is in front of them.
-
Its first come first serve to a certain degree. However, with the volume of petitions, the number of workers, waiting for RFE returns, it seems like at any given time there is a 60-90 days window in which they are working. For instance, right now it appears CSC is working on petitions from Jan-March.
-
Looks good. In fact, you probably don't need two years of tax info, but it doesn't hurt to send it anyway.
-
Also keep in mind that it seems pretty clear they work on a range of dates at the same time. While the system is "first come, first served" so to say, they have so many people working on so many different petitions it is nearly impossible to go date by date and not move on to other dates at the same time. I'm at CSC and they seem to be focusing on Jan-March right now. And you can tell that people everyday are getting NOA2 from all three of those months. In another two weeks or so they should be moving into April petitions (like me!). VSC is the same way, they are just a little further behind. And remember that traditionally those who file at the start of the year tend to have shorter waiting periods than those who file at the end of the year.
-
The RFE doesn't necessarily mean they want more proof of relationship. It could be any number of things..maybe you forgot to sign something, missed a line on the petition somewhere...it's possible it is something with a very easy fix.
-
Well ours seems to be a little shorter than most here. We met just about a year ago, really connected strongly last September and talked online everyday since then. I went to see her in January when we decided to get married. Went back again in March and now we're hoping she'll be here in a few months!
-
I got the notification 10 days after they received it. Sometimes it takes the system a while. No worries.
-
we met online almost exactly one year ago. i'm 30, she's 20.

That's what I thought. Just making sure! Thanks!
APPROVED!!!

I went to school at Wright State. I'll be in Moldova, Tiraspol to be specific, from July 18th until mid August. I can't wait!
