  1. So I am getting ready to send in my I-864 and all those documents in the next couple days. I found a great cover letter template and ideas of what to show to prove that I have U.S. domicile, although I've been living in Nepal off and on the last 4 years. My question is this: my permanent address and the place where we will be moving, at least initially, is with my parents in maryland. this is where i have my bank account and all mail sent, etc and where I filed taxes from the last time I filed, but my license and voter registration, etc. are all from Colorado. they are current but they are from when I lived in Colorado for 7 years. I've moved a lot the last several years but my permanent residence has always been my parents'. should i include my colorado driver's license and voter information or just the evidence that shows my parent's address?

I am also going to show some email for schools (for our child) and job searches, etc. any other ideas?

    thanks so much!

  2. Brianna,

Hey. It sounds like we are going through similar paths here. I am also living in Kathmandu with my husband and filing for the I-130. I ended up mailing it from the states while I was visiting this past month. It took a good bit of time to put everything together but we finally mailed it out and got our first NOA. Write me if you have any questions about it or maybe we could meet up sometime. We have a little daughter too and are waiting this year for all the paperwork to go through. Hope it's going well for you guys.

  3. hello again everyone,

it says we need to pay via a check or money order from a US financial institution. we are both currently living in nepal and i didn't bring any checks with me from my bank back home. my question is when i mail in the I-130 is it possible to first send it to my parents and have them write a check and mail it to chicago? what are your thoughts on this or is there another way to pay electronically or something? thanks again everyone

  4. I'm not sure what to do here. We were planning on doing the DCF here in Nepal because we are both living abroad but now filing directly with the embassy isn't an option so we need to mail in the I-130. my question (for now) is where will they send responses and information to us? there are no addresses here in kathmandu- just neighborhoods and no way to receive mail. can i have it sent to the US embassy here? does anyone else have a similar situation? thanks for the help!

  5. i gave birth at the age of 19, and have been a single mom...my mother was the one taking her to local health centers since i was studying and back to school...so she was the one who takes my daughter to health center for vaccine and being so used to the system of not keeping records of her children eversince also did that to my daughter...

maybe you could try going to the clinic and explaining your case and having them fill out s record for you. sometimes a little money goes a long way too. :) there is also an option to show you are morally or religiously against vaccines but i've heard it's an expensive and long process. some people do this because they use aborted fetuses in the vaccines so it is easy to say you have a moral or religious problem with them. there are many other problems with them but that is an easy reason to refuse. just not sure the US government cares too much about immigrants' morals.

  6. Hey Everyone,

i know this has probably been asked and answered a million times but what documents should I send with the I-864? i will have a co-sponsor as well. maybe some of you who have had experience with this could respond as to what worked or didn't.

also, is one police report per country enough or do we need to get a police report in each area he has lived? we are doing a DCF in nepal next month and i want to make sure we have everything ready.

    thanks so much!

    Debbie and Chandra
